Was the shadow at Whitebridge ever explained?

This could already have been mentioned somewhere else but I was just wondering if anyone have information on what the shadow at Whitebridge in EotW was. RJ had said that it would be explained, i think.

if you can post a quote from the book, that would be appreciated. I don't recall any shadow, but its been ages since i read EotW

'Aes Sedai work. One thing to hear about it, another to see it, and touch it. You know that don't you? For an instant it seemed to Rand that a shadow rippled through the milk-white structure.'

I can't remember where but I'm convinced I have seen RJ mention it in interviews that this line would be explained.

An early manifestation of Rand's madness? Whitebridge is warded to alert to any Shadowspawn crossing it, and the Myrdraal they were about to encounter just crossed? Your guess is as good as mine.

There has been speculation that Whitebridge is a ter'angreal or sa'angreal like the Chodean Kael- a powerful one that has been forgotten about/unused. It is surely from another Age and has survived the Breaking.
