Huh?

It's a riddle in Alice in Wonderland.  Apparently Lewis Carrol never meant for it to be answered, but got so many questions about it he came up with the latter, *shrugs*

Because Poe wrote on both: Figuritively he wrote on the Raven and physically he wrote on a writing desk.
