You may have heard of our Dutch tradition of Saint Nicholas, at the 5th of December. It's a national holiday, where people give presents to one another and such things. A bit like Christmas in most countries (and some here do both).

Now, in this tradition is too (as you may even have heard in the news recently; there's quite a lot of fuzz about it) Black Pete, the helper of Saint Nicholas. Now, I am pretty sure it is nowhere in the tradition that he's a slave, but apparently there are some people in the Netherlands that think that he - a core part of the tradition - should be forbidden because of racism, which is total - and I'll shorten this word up because I'm not allowed to use the full word - BS.

What I would like to ask you all, is to like this facebook page, (if it's not underlined, this one: https://www.facebook.com/pietitie) which is a petition that Black Pete should NOT be forbidden. After just 36 hours, there are already one and half a million likes, but more is always better, and it would be like forbidding Christmas in the USA if it would be forbidden.
