Dap, answering right away. I was re-reading both Darthe and Despo (that's hard) and was not so sure as you, as to whom to vote. At this stage I don't think we could allow mistakes and lynch town, especially the cop, who I believed one of the two was.

Interesting role, Despo, never heard of it until now - sounds pretty powerful, so there might not be a cop this time. And I think there are 4 mafia due to the large number of participants and the intro Time wrote. Not counting Ley and Hallia, who I read as the scummiest, I have to think, Rag seems more likely, although it would be good if Snow gets Mod-killed and turns out he was scum.

I am sorry we could not play with you, Turin.

I don't think the presence of my role discludes the possibility of a cop or other investigative role in this game. My role doesn't offer near as much benefit to town as an investigative PR. I do agree it's cool tho

Too bad both nights I've used it so far it didn't really help anything

First, am I dead already? I think I have 4 votes bit haven't even had a chance to start making my notes so not sure of the numbers. I was supposed to be off today but have to work so if still alive this afternoon I will put out more detailed thought. But a few things I noticed from reading (only at p10) and looking at the last page or two...

Talya (mafia) does the I think wombat is shadier than AJ. We know wombat was town which leads me to question AJ. He has claimed Vig. Despo "breadcrumbs" that he viewed him. Kind of odd if he isn't the cop but I think that is,a question for another day. What did strike me strange was how it looked like AJ was gunning for a view. Claiming Vig is nearly certain to draw a view. I am finding it odd that there have not been any multiple kill nights.

vote AJ

I will give my limited take on Ley later if still alive...

Oh two last things from recent postings..

Despo, there was a full time commuting survivor in the smash bros game. So quite possible. You were in that game so I would expect you to remember( epic game BTW. Miss you BG)

Thea, the sad faces ping me like crazy.

Aida, did Thea say somewhere that she thought the game started with 5 mafia? I didn't follow where that came from.

Gotta drive, more later.

That's the game I was thinking of, but it wasn't a full time commuter, was it? That would have been hella overpowered. Thought it was a 1 shot or something. I dunno. That was a great game however. And BG did actually play a game recently

Ive seen him a good bit on Xbox one lately so that might partially explain his recent absence hehe.

"True, but I doubt he is alone. He has two other brothers and his sister.4"

So we have 3 more scums and Klaus as a GF. Could this be possible for the setting?

Turin - this is the quote that Thea posted to which I was referring. I am looking for the original quote from Time as well, but thought I would post this since I haven't found it yet.

Alright so I don't have a bunch of time (visiting family and posting from mobile)

I am a 1x shot Vig. I shot at Basel N1 and was blocked. I lied about shooting Ley last night cause I hoped, if mafia, they would shoot me instead of one of the other claimed PRs since I am essentially vanilla. I don't have time to read but I will check periodically and will vote wherever we need to secure a lynch if it comes down to that.

And I guess I might as well give this a try again:

@Time: Can we get a status check on the John Snow situation please? He last posted in here days ago, including multiple game phases, and in general hasn't been active this game. Obviously however you might want to resolve that situation is completely up to your discretion, however if you wanted to know player preference at all, I personally would rather just have his slot Modkilled instead of replaced

I've messaged Snow about this, and if he does end up being replaced, then Basel will replace him...

My computer died, my new one's heeeeere!  I gotta say, for you not being the cop that was amazing play Despozorz.  At the end of the day, it caught a mafia, and that's the whole point, right?  I don't know if I buy that, AJ.

I disapprove of faking a cop claim

But it all turned out ok so grudgingly I commend you I guess.

Sorry for my absence. I was very hungover and some stuff went down at the flat

AJ your claim actually makes me more inclined to believe that you are town, not a SK. If you were a SK you would of used kills to verify yourself if you could of.

This stinks. If you are a 1x vig why waste your shot on N1 when you have a much higher percentage chance of hitting a townie. The fact is that only luck kept you from "accidentally" killing the doc. Would you have claimed the kill then I wonder? It makes much more sense that you are really mafia (possibly GF) that tried hard to get viewed N1 by the cop and used a Vig claim to do it.

Despo's fake CC and the way he did it likely led you to believe that you were in fact viewed. So last night thinking Basel would play by the book and protect the cop you killed him with the plan of killing Despo tonight. He flips cop and you have your psuedo viewing. Now that you don't have that you have back tracked to look like you are no longer  danger as your teeth have been pulled in effect. The last line about voting "as needed" is just an attempt to look like a good little townie while bearing no responsibility for how you vote.

looks like you want to live so that you can keep killing people for the mafia team.

Klaus plus two brothers and a sister are only 4 total. Reading the passage leads me to think that Elijah is not included in the baddies. Who was Darthe? Kol. Is that one of the brothers?

If you flip town ill consider that turin

It looks like you will get your chance soon. I just recently got lynched in large part because of things beyond my control. People thought that because a flipped mafia (ironically Darthe) had attacked my slot D1 and I took his side in a dispute (mostly because I trusted Peace over Despo) that I must be his teammate.

Here it appears that Ley was so scummy that I will be today's lynch. I do want to say what I think about Ley's play in particular the interaction with Despo. Many say that you must have thick skin and that anything goes as all on thread words re part of the game. I am a proponent of happy mafia. I don't think that it needs to be all kisses and hugs. There are still going to be disputes but they do not need to go to name calling. There is the semantic argument about "I didn't say YOU were stupid/retarded/pickanysimilar word. I said that your argument was." the problem with this is there is direct inference that since a person made that particular argument that they indeed are that word. All that need be done is substitute the word "wrong" and it is suddenly a non-issue. Anyone that has been in the BT for a while especially those of us that were here when he was very active will know that his personality is to  see things in a very black and white way. Many of you know of the list of mafia rules he ported in a link in his siggy not too long ago. I would say it was definite he was going to react in the way he did. He has only changed in so far as he now will use the swear words that have gotten him into some trouble in recent times. It is also pretty well known that Ley at times has difficulty expressing what he is actually thinking and that his word choices can make people think him mafia because of it.

Sorry if that came out weird. I have worked about 85 hours this past week.

Im sorry for you having to sub in at this point

but ley was being voted today, with or without him

if you got a good claim we will hear it but its too late to walk awaynow pretty kuch

I disapprove of faking a cop claim

But it all turned out ok so grudgingly I commend you I guess.

The game which I have had stuck in my head the most over the past year or so was the KoH game. It's my opinion that the balance was swung HEAVILY against town in that game, and the mafia team was very experienced (DPR, Verbal, Yates, and Cloud). And yet, town actually almost ended up steamrolling the scum team in that one, till we got steamrolled instead. Verbal fake claimed Cop, turns out there was no real cop. During an argument I had with Yates however, I knew that Verbal was lying, but couldn't convince town to not trust his claim without a CC. I thought long and hard that game about fake CC'ing Cop, ended up not doing so. Had I done the same this game as I did that game, that game could have been one of my crowning achievements as a mafia player. Ever since then, I have learned to pretty much always trust my instincts and go for the big play if it looks like it has a good chance of succeeding. So far that new strategy hasn't really burned me (it did sort of burn a past teammate tho, and I still feel bad about that)

If you flip town ill consider that turin

Aye, you have had some tough luck lately with replacing into games. STart signing up for more from the start instead of as a backup  (I know you're really busy tho :madmyrddraal: )

And you should NEVER trust Peace over me hehe

Sorry if that came out weird. I have worked about 85 hours this past week.

I'm sorry, but I don't think the issue is just semantics. I think there is a definite difference between calling someone bad at mafia and calling someone's post bad. A great player can still have a brain fart and slip up accidentally. Imo there's nothing wrong with calling a post bad or scummy, and Ley himself even said that wasn't what bothered him, but that I wouldn't explain WHY. Fact is, there are times when a player won't completely explain their reasoning behind a move or a comment, and I don't think he should have lost his cool like he did and put both Time and you in a difficult position like this. And I must say valiant effort btw, you even inserted a sliver of doubt in my noggin.

I know I used some harsh words to describe the post. But this is really a fairly common part of my mafia strategy, I use pretty much unnecessary superlatives on purpose because they tend to get more reactions. I'm def not the only one btw. There are a ton of folks who call a post "terribad" or "gross", or say someone's slipup was obvious or something. I never tried to infer anything about Ley's play in general or his skill as a mafia player or anything like that. In my opinion however, that was a really bad post. Did I have to use the language I did? Of course not. Can I see how he might have gotten offended? Of course. But this is still mafia, as you said, and generally speaking it's easy to get offended by things if you let them. I don't think I crossed any line at all, and hopefully he might come to understand that I harbor him no ill will at all.

Okay back to gameplay.

Rags almost lack of a reaction to me revealing my gambit is telling imo. And I hate to use this against her, but Theo now has twice let something slip on thread that I think could have come from a reaction to something said in a QT. First she said I had said enough, now recently she said she felt sorry for not being able to get to play with Turin, which makes it look sorta like he came in on the QT, and she knew he was an experienced player and hoped he could help them, but then realized he was being lynched today anyways.

Hallia's reaction to my gambit seems more like how I would see town Hallia reacting.

So depending on what happens with Snow, and with me still needing to reread a couple of peeps, I'm thinking our last scum could be between Theo and Rags.

Had some free time, felt like pulling those quotes, ended up doing some iso reviews of a couple of players.

I will read more about it when the mafiascum site is up.

Is that role only a town role?

I have never seen it be scum.

These are Rag's two posts since I revealed my gambit. Not only does he seem to hold back reaction to my gambit, but he also seems very tight lipped in general. I think that judging from what I've seen of Rags so far, if he was town he would have reacted more to recent events.

Desp, this is my observation only, I think you've said enough already.

Here's where Theo says I've said enough, and in fact this came in response to a post I had responded to her with, had nothing to do with the spat between me and Ley. I feel kinda dirty using this, but yeah to me it looks like Ley was ranting about how mean I was in the QT, and Theo was sympathizing with him so said this.

Underlined is where she laments that she won't be able to play with Turin. I don't remember ever seeing her say on thread that she was looking forward to playing with Turin. You might think she's just sort of sad in general that he's getting lynched so quickly after coming into the game, but according to one of her recent posts before this, Ley seemed "scummiest" to her (as well as Hallia):

I would like some more info from them if possible as well (AJ and Des), or if they have questions.

Otherwise,  I am quite ready to lynch mafia - Ley seems scummiest and Hallia, I want to see some more from the rest. Ley is ill and I am not sure what his state in the game is (replacement or not) but I hope he gets well quicklier for the holidays.

Bye, Basel. :(

I do not know what to think of Aida - quite emotional and then (maybe mentored behaviour), quite pro-town.

I can bet whatever that Ley is scum though. I gave multiple reasons, they haven't changed.

And where is Mr Snow?

If she had Ley as one of her top candidates for scum, it just seems like she wouldn't have as much of a problem with Turin getting lynched today. Unless of course she saw him replace in, they talked a bit on the QT, and she looked forward to playing with him longer.

Now, I could be overanalyzing stuff with those two things, but eh that's my style anyways. I did find some other stuff on Theo tho that is more of the conventional kind of scumtells. In fact, one of the things was the modkill thing on Snow (I italicized the relevant parts in above posts). I floated that idea out partially cause I do actually dislike mods replacing players a lot, especially late in the game (you end up being forced to develop a rushed read on someone who just joined into a game), but also because I wanted to see who would support that idea. Funny that Theo seems keen on the idea of modkilling Snow instead of replacing him, considering her apparent compassion to Turin who just joined in.

Anyways, other stuff I found on her (I kept it brief):

Basel - love the biting sense of humour; actually one of the few who scum hunts; for now it is a town read from me

Aida - she is new and has a day1 pass - I know her very well outside the game and she is very enthusiastic and kind to all indeed. Do not jump on me or Golden, or AJ who know her as well, but this is typical Aida - I cannot read her until now, as she behaves exactly like this in every thread I've read. I need something more as to read her. Aida, read Despo's post after your last one, Mafia is a cruel game and not for the sensitive but do give it a try.

AJ - different reaction to same claims but I know AJ as a very good and experienced player and I am not sure he would make this mistake. This might be just because he feels Womby closer than Basil in RL (don't get me wrong on this, I meant friendship). AJ knows Aida from outside the game and he knows her temper - that is why he is defending her. Though he gets the neutral card from me at this stage as he jumped on Basil, then ju

Rag - I understand this probably is your style but you vote Tina for not giving opinions, when all I read from you is fluff and a vote on Tina as she has not stated cases. What are your reads then, Rag? I know you are very experienced and could be of much help to town if you want it, that is.

Despo - good cases, well-supported opinions, like always, so I don't think I could read you based on this. It is a pro-town sign indeed but only for now. I want to ask, why Talya when you have a scum train ready (you stated AJ was mafia)? And what is wrong with Snow?

Talya - never played with her but she appears a bit too defensive when provoked by a question to explain why voting Womby and I still do not understand why, when AJ's train is there.

Jon Snow - if you make a train on him, we have to vote all inactive people. It would be good if Jon appears and comments his train.

Dap - interesting strategy but aren't we supposed to vote who we think scum? Who do you think is scum, irregardless of trains?

Tina - she has to make a read on who is scum, otherwise she has well-developed sense to detect ilogical behaviour so far - I haven't played with her, though

Hallia - I cannot read based on 1 post and it is true that you don't say who you feel/think scum.

For now I do not like Dap's strategy of creating a thid train without any solid reason IMO, neither do I like the overprotective tone of Talya and where is Goldeneyes? Two posts - are you skimming through Day 1 hiding in the shadows? I have not forgotten AJ. And Arez - pushing the Snow train because of Snos's meta an year ago.   Dap, Talya, Goldeneyes, AJ seem scummiest to me. Arez is almost in the list.

I need some more activity before I vote. I don't like making mistakes.

List of reads from earlier in the game, spoilered it instead of editing out the part I felt relevant since this will be useful if we get a flip on her.

This is one of the things that stood out:

"Despo - good cases, well-supported opinions, like always, so I don't think I could read you based on this. It is a pro-town sign indeed but only for now. I want to ask,why Talya when you have a scum train ready (you stated AJ was mafia)? And what is wrong with Snow?"

Soft defends Talya, even tho the next person on her list of reads is Talya and she seems to distance from her.

Not much to re-read though - some thoughts largely based on meta (what if I don't have such) and the person who I expect to give some more experienced thoughts like Wombat, Darthe - act like they are larger than this. GoldenEyes, my vote stays with you for now as I still had nothing from the post: like I know who I think scum but not gonna tell until I am sure. We all know we are sure when the Mod posts the character and their alignment.

Darthe, Wombat, why Despo? I know you are all very experienced but please teach the new ones something.

Nudges me but more importantly links Wombat and Darthe. Wants to make it seem like they were both trying to get me lynched, to possibly make Wombat look bad as well if I did get lynched.

Darthe, are you nuts?n Random means you could be killed. Or you already know you will receivde the stigma. A re you not town?

The "are you not town?" part seems to me like a bit of a stumble in trying to distance from a teammate. Part of it could just be weird wording on her part due to English not being her first language, but I pretty much never have difficulty in understanding what she's saying or anything. I think this was more due to her feeling awkward about bussing/distancing from a teammate.

There was a lot more interesting interaction between her and Darthe and Talya, but that was just some of the stuff that jumped out at me first.

Haven't gone back and checked out how votes progressed yet the other day however, but from what I remember she initially took Darthe's side. Either way, she's my top scum read after Ley. She also had that too-early claim from before as well, with a character claim attached to it that apparently made others uneasy.

@Turin - that's a deeply elaborate scheme you thought up there. I hate to say it but you are giving me much more credit than what is due lol. True that I shot at the Doc and luck would have it that I was blocked. I'm not looking to give myself excuses and I would've owned up to the kill regardless. I had stated my suspicions of him and as Town I am allowed to be wrong. It's another example of how Vigs can hurt Town as much as help and I admit that with thing being my first game as one I have misplayed it.

@Turin & Aida(I think) - I'm not attempting to play the 'obedient Townie'. Frankly I don't have much time to read or case this weekend so I will likely vote to help achieve a lynch if need be or possibility not at all if I'm unable to.

Had some free time, felt like pulling those quotes, ended up doing some iso reviews of a couple of players.

Jon Snow was given the chance to play and then disappeared, not answering to the Mod. This is further in the game and I feel like he should be modkilled. I am not Time, so it is not my job to decide. I simply shared that it would be a good luck if a scum gets modkilled.

I don't know your alignment, Despo, I am allowed to ask questions.

Well, they both wanted to vote you - again, I am allowed to ask questons.

 That was a bit of intoxicated me talking - 8th Dec is the Student's National Holiday in Bulgaria and although in the UK, we kind of celebrated haha

I have been voting Darthe and having Darthe/Talya as my biggest scum reads.

Jon Snow wanted a full claim and I did not have what to hide. I explained about character I claimed a lot of times, so I will not do any more.

My points in green, Despo. You are overanalyzing this time.

If I haven't answered something (as the post is huge and many quotes appear), post it separately.

Just to say that I am back at home and I don't have that much time but I will definitely be as active as possible.
