Though the book is better... the film was my introduction to the book and, as I remember, pretty close in plot and characterizations.

well i have watched the  2 movies ... the end of the second is soooooo frustrating

 

I've never read The Hobbit.

I've only read The Hobbit like twice I think.

 

LotR at  least a dozen times

Silmarillion about 10. I didn't have a copy for a while.

I didn't even know there wasn't supposed to be a bunny sledge. I had to check that with Turin. Luckily he knows everything.

 

And I read tLotR first - so when I tried to read the Hobbit after it seemed a bit simplistic and childish.
