Sooh: Not. She's been fairly quiet, but when she contributes her posts seem pretty sound. Not entirely sure about her though.

Darthe: Not. I dislike his playstyle but apparently it's normal and no one else seems to be concerned about it, so we can deal with it in the future.

Thane: Not. I like his impressions of the game and his play so far.

Zander: Not. He was kind silent for a while, but he's been chiming in more lately. I think he bears watching, but I don't think he's today's lynch.

Talya: Lynch. She seems to be vibrating between being quite intelligent and misreading key parts of posts. I would be willing to vote for her.

Corvhin: Not. His inexperience is showing, but he's putting forth a good effort.

Release The Evil: Not. I get the impression he's town, although not a strong one.

Mawthtex: Not. I like myself too much to lynch me.

AlannaLynn Not. We seem to think along the same lines, which suggests to me we are both looking out for the town's best interests.

Seph: Not. He seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders most of the time, although he bears watching.

Verbal: Not. He seems to be playing a pretty strong town game so far.

Leyrann: Lynch. He's been playing more aggressively than helpfully. Not sure I quite understand where he's coming from, and I'd be willing to put a vote on him.

Dice: Not. I don't have a strong read on him but neither do I have suspicions.

 

So, to summarize, I think Leyrann or Talya should be the lynch today. They've played the spottiest of everyone here.

This is Maw's list. At the time I didn't really think this was a bad post. I still don't. Looking back at it now, I think if Maw was wolf he would have had a few more people in there and also think he may have pointed one of his team in that mix. He didn't he choose 2 people only, one we know is definitely town and the other I know is town. This makes me think he is more townie.

 

He has his to and fro with Ley, doesn't seem wolfie nor townie in that...two frustrated 2 people. I don't agree with his reasoning on lyning Ley, but that doesn't make him wolf. No

 

not sure if anyone answered Maw - ISO isolation posts (done through a search of the thread by poster.)

 

Reading back over his posts, Apart from the first few days I don't think there have been many fluff votes so I'm not sure what Sooh was on about. I'm wondering if she didn't want to put her vote on Ley so chose someone else, after the lynch on Ley did she actually come in and give her reason for the vote. Not that there was much as she seems to be not sure about Maw being wolf.

Most interested in hearing from Seph, Dice, Alanna, and Maw.

I'm trying I find the quote where sooh claimed but the multiquotes are a disaster.

 

Long story short: I don't believe it. She shot down my list with that soft claim and then the real one.

 

Verbal, how much do you think her claim is true?

We have our first actual post of the game. Talya gives reads on various people and wants to find out reasoning behind votes, appears to be unaware of the longstanding tradition of jokes votes between myself and leyrann. Talya votes me, apparently to garner reactions, Leyrann responds with incredible levels of snark.

 

I can buy that she left the first thread before our rivalry became clear, so I'm not too worried about Talya here. I'm slightly suspicious of Ley's reaction. Seems a little over the top.

 

@village:  I don't think Talya should be the lynch today, even though many of you might think she should be.  If she's a villager, then we should give her the time to break out of whatever weird mood she's in and be the villager we hope she is.  If she's a wolf, this method of playing it will likely spew out her entire team, so I'm down for letting it continue.

 

@wolves:  Nothing to say to you people, but I didn't want you to feel completely left out.  See you soon.  ;-)

I like Verb's point here. No need to rush the D1 lynch. Makes me feel like he's town.

 

This in turn makes me suspicious of a scum attempting to establish themselves as town, but that could just be my own paranoia.

Question: Has the mafia parlance on DM shifted from 'scum' and 'town' to 'wolves' and 'village'? I'm aware of the existance of werewolf, but didn't realize it had become commonplace here.

 

 

This is his first real serious post of the game - this is where he does a sitting on the fence with Verb (same as Sooh) (bold Purple)

Sarcasm on the first sentence, none on the second. It was a bad explanation for a bad vote and I took exception to it.

Look Verb, I don't know your role or anything, but if you lynch me today the vig won't be able to make any more kills. My part here is the Enabler.

Question for the group: How much stock do you put in flavor? Because from my reading of the scenes, Darthe was certainly killed by mafia, and TurCorvhin was defenitely killed by the vig. Thanes death I can't determine. (@Mods: Is that the extent of the scene or will it expanded?)

Verb You mentioned not seeing cop hints from Thane. Well neither did i. but I did see what I thought was LD hints. and guess who he was talking too?? Then add the way he got off Zander. I actually didnt mind him voting Zander. If he thinks zander mafia even with bad reasons then go for it but that getting off stunk

Read above. Only plausible non-scum option IMO was Zander is the vig. Given I think Zander is scum I don't think he's the vig. Hence my vote was on him. 

I am confused. Do you think Zander is scum? Or do you think Zander is the Vig? Please pick one.

 

Also the lynchpin of your argument either way appears to be the single line about thane not surviving d2, which I believe has been pretty thoroughly established as a misunderstanding on your part. 

 

Ok guys I'm mainly going to be able to post on and off, route is really busy today, but this is where I am.

Verbal- has been very active and engaging. has been defending numerous people he thinks is town. From a few town games if I recall right, he is usually solid about picking out villagers.

Zander- my read on him hasn't changed, his day 2 play has been solid.

Dice- he is my slight town read, I don't remember if he has posted since d1.

What bugs me is the role can be apart of town or mafia, and her claiming that early seems like it would hurt the town.

Alanna- one of her most recent posts about maw defense vote looking more strange as she read it pinged me, because ley said something along the lines that mafia tend to defend townies.

If it was a original thought I wouldn't think as much of it, but it felt like she was just trying to distance. This is more of a gut thing

 

Rte - looks really bad from interaction with zander. I agree with verbal rte.if you are town you need to reassess the situation.

The only reason you might be a townie is you believed in your push, even if it wasn't solid.

 

Maw - was very defensive with ley, I felt like his push was thin. He only seemed to dig in when I made the comment to ley with corv.

Also my suspicions with his post to darthe.

Tbh I may be dragging alanna into this, but the way her and maw are posting towards one another seems off.

 

Rte something needs to change or your getting my vote eod.

I see where you're coming from with this. I can't really offer any evidence to the contrary that I have not already gone over, so I don't see a way to change your mind if that's what your conclusion is.

I do try to take these things with a grain of salt, but this seems pretty cut and dried to me. I only know a little about Mass Effect, but Darthe's kill clearly mentions a betrayal of some sort. Thane's kill is just a ravening monster, which is almost never friendly. Corvin, though, was killed by Commander Shepard (the protagonist of the games, I think established as town in the opening scene) and Garrus (Shepard's right-hand man). I'm pretty confident that Corvhin was the one targeted by the vigilante. This also makes sense to me as Corvhin was one of the major people coming up for review today.

That post about the mods write up was terrifyingly accurate, for only knowing a little bit about mass

I played a couple hours of the first game. I know Commander Shepard, Garrus, and Wrex, I know the Reapers and Saren are bad, and... that's about it.

Who actually believes Sooh's claim btw.  im having serious trouble doing so.

Thane's scene is less awesome because it was written by me. It may be extended if I manage to bribe my lovely co-mod to do so.

So I was gathering material for my read list, and I realized I had no read on dice. None. So I went looking and found that that was because he had next to no content. Here are (barring an accidental double post and one saying ninja'd) all of dices posts since the beginning of Day One. All fifteen of them.

 

 

I picked up on the whole Ley/Maw thing in the sign up thread, so yeah, I feel Talya's reaction is a bit too rash perhaps here. Then again the beginning of this game has been pretty darn slow, so somebody had to point out something to get it to start. 

 

I'm not sure about Verb yet. Something tells me that he's looking for a scapegoat, but at the same time he concludes much less harshly than I would expect for that. Or perhaps he's gauging other people's reactions.

Alanna - the vote that you said I called out was in RVS. It wasn't but then I didn't call just me out but 3 votes. And only wanted a why because nothing was said.

I would like to know why Darthe voted Alanna.

Also why Sooh, I haven't seen anything yet that jumps out on me, so if this is a "she's got to be wolf sometime" it's not good reason.

What's the difference between mafia and scum? You use mafia when you're town and scum when you're mafia?

 

 

I try to do what Ithi and Turin do and only use mafia but when i get annoyed i sometimes use scum. Dont use that much tho

As for Maws list. Its D1. having two people he is willing to lynch seems reasonable to me. Do you expect him to have 4 picked out? Cause right now the only way someone could have 4 picked out is if they are mafia. Not enuff has happened for 4 people to have really stood out in a bad way.

Hello and welcome to Day 2's edition of Semantics Are Incredibly Important! Today we'll be changing the format slightly and ranking each person on a sliding scale of scumminess, starting at I Really Want To Lynch This Guy and going to I Would Not Mind Lynching This Guy, I Have No Idea About This Guy, I Think This Guy Is Kind Of Cool, and I Really Like This Guy And I Want To Keep Him Around. Again, keep in mind that these are readings for the current day and suggestions for the current lynch. Let's get started:

 

Sooh: I Would Not Mind Lynching This Guy - I agree with what's been said about Sooh and her fence-sitting. The claim is interesting. I don't know why she felt she needed to claim. I'm not sure I believe it. I would not mind lynching her.

Zander: I Think This Guy Is Kind Of Cool - I like his play in general. I agree with his points and think he's doing a good job with his playstyle.

Talya: I Have No Idea About This Guy - She keeps swinging back and forth. Some of her posts seem super weird, some of her posts seem pretty legit. Unsure.

RTE: I Really Want To Lynch This Guy - His entire argument with Zander about that Thane line was super weird, and continues to be super weird today. Zander is almost certainly Mafia? But then again he might be a Vig? So I'll keep voting him for a bit? And then unvote him? But he still might be mafia? The whole thing sits badly with me.

Alanna: I Think This Guy Is Kind Of Cool. Opinion hasn't really changed from the last episode. I the way she thinks. I think she's probably town.

Seph: I Think This Guy Is Kind Of Cool. I like his posts for the most part. There have been a couple oddities but for the most part I like where he's coming from. 

Verbal: I Really Like This Guy And I Want To Keep Him Around - Disregarding any paranoid thoughts about exactly how well he's entrenched himself as a townie, his posts have been super solid and he's done a great job pointing out inconsistancies.

Dice: I Have No Idea About This Guy - He hasn't posted enough material for me to get a read on him.
