Ponderous beginning

Ok, so Ive been rereading the series againg for 6th time so I can catch up for the next installment. I whipped through the first 3 books in 3 weeks. I am now trying to work my way through the first 200 or so pages of The Shadow Rising and am progressing at 1-2 pages a night maybe. Very good for sleeping. I had forgotten how cumbersome it could become if RJ got stuck. Like in Tear. I know it will get better, but it is still kind of painful.

It must be the first time I have heard that criticism levelled at The Shadow Rising... If that is how you feel about the best - arguably - book in the series, you are in for some ride later on. As you know.

That is very surprising to hear, as I generally thought that The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising, and The Fires of Heaven were considered the 3 best books of the series.

I personally like tFoH the best, as I like Moghedien and that book really starts her character out.

At that rate, you might not finish CoT in your lifetime, lol.

Eye of the World is my favorite, easily...after that, for sure, Dragon Reborn, Shadow Rising, Fires of Heaven are brilliant. CoT bogged down a bit.

I couldn't put TSR and TFOH down! I'm sure it will pick up for you soon. Just hang in there; it really is one of the very best books in the whole series. He won't stay in Tear for the entire novel, but if you don't keep plodding along, he won't get going.

Rand running from the farm to Emond's Field nearly finished me off. Hated that sequence. I nearly never finished EotW because of it. Glad i did tho!

^ That's wild. One of my favorite parts of the series, those first hundred-two hundred pages.

Thor

Winter's heart is far worse than tsr.

Now now...u make tSR sound like a horrible book....a shame.
