The Network looked around with a smile.  His conversion of this pitiful race had come to an end.  Unbeknownst to, well, anyone, really, his race had begun converting individuals into androids quite some time ago.  It wasn't all bad.  Where do you think the cellular telephone came from?  Humans were closer than ever to joining the galaxy's community.  It only took some sacrifice.
