The man called bors

Hi ppl

I just finished The Great Hunt.

Are we supposed to have guessed the identity of this bors guy in the prologue? Is he on any of the other books?

I think it was Ingtar. But Im not sure. There's darkfriends everywhere (jeez...).

And Im afraid to look it up on the wiki and read a spoiler.

Exactly, though the companion confirms Ingtar was at the party he wasn't Bors.  As Jack said you will meet "Bors" again.

character's next on-screen appearance is in Dragon Reborn; identity revealed in Shadow's Rising.

Awesome! I very much liked this character so Im glad he is brought in later in the series.

MB, what do you mean by "next on screen"?

Thanks guys!

"Next on screen" is when the character appears again in the books.

There are some instances that the "on screen" appearances are not blatantly obvious, but one can figure it out.  I don't recall how obvious the next Bors appearance is.

pretty much what Pinzarn told; the next time he appears in the books.

I am sure many of those people at the meeting were "named" characters, as in any of the people you meet whether aes sedai or whoever, probably some of the most significant black ajah or dark friends that cross the path of the good guys. Alot of people with rank or power. But at least from what i remember when i last read though Bors is the only one thats identifiable. At least without RJs notes.

The last paragraph of the Great Hunt's prologue should give you most of the clues you need.

Well, I took my guess from the part where the DO tells Bors to "keep your good deeds, double your efforts", thats what suggested Ingtar to me. Happy to know I was wrong though!

Im pretty sure Liandrin was one of the aes sedai in TGH's prologue. Whose with me?

lol,you do realise that most of us at dragonmount have read all the books?

hehe yes now that you mention it, it was silly of me to say that

You would be surprised.  Just about all of them are named characters, some revealed later in the series.  The seafolk, the Aes Sedai, the Tairen lords and so forth.  Keep reading.

I thought I read somewhere that the Atha'an Miere have tattoos on their hands, and that Bors saw at least one with such at the gathering in the prologue of TGH,

He did, I thought Orderofolde was saying the sea folk who were at the meeting that their names are said later in the series.  I was just saying I don't remember any DF Sea Folk being named.

I know, Ive read the series, alot. I just don't want to spoil anything. As I said, Im sure many at the meeting were named characters but theres nothing much in the books that say this person was that at the meeting. I can be sure many of the major darkfriends are but I don't know for a fact they were. Bors gets specifically mentioned in the books.

I can think of only 3 in the series that you can say for 100% certainty were at the meeting.

Bors, the Seafolk woman and male, the Shinaran, the Aes Sedai, the Tairen Lords, a Dark Friend lady, sorry, hard not to mention the names here but I don't want to give spoilers.  I'm not clear on the Tinker, though.  That one really got me.  Any ideas?

Still confused about the sea folk woman.  I don't remember any seafolk being identified in the series as a DF.
