WOT-inspired symphonic music

Featured Replies

(listening to city of shadows atm) It sounds pretty awesome ! I like how the sound changes from "quieter" to "darker" moments!

Is it all computer generated or did you play the different instruments?

ALSO ... Who's your favorite movie composer? :biggrin;

Thank you, glad you like it.

Everything you hear is played by me in the keyboard using samples of orchestral instruments. The computer functions as a a sequencer and sample player to play back the notes you have recorded. As for my favourite movie composer I'd say Danny Elfman. Batman Returns and Nightmare before Christmas are two of the greatest soundtracks imho. Who you think would be great for the WoT soundtrack?

Well I have always been a big fan of John Williams lol

... but I guess that he would be too "theatrical" for WOT.

Nightmare before Christmas had an amazing soundtrack, it was exactly what the movie needed imo.

Now, I'd say that Clint Mansell could be an interesting choice for the Wheel of Time, I kinda like what he did for the mass effect series. It was sober but pretty good with the story line :tongue:

Oh wow! Kas! These are amazing! I got goosebumps.

Personally, you are now one of my favourite composers. I hope they use all your music in the series. :laugh:

Very nice,

I can hear the Danny Elfman influence in the music now that you've mentioned it.  Also a few points that sounded a bit Final Fantasyish... Really cool and great job!

Thank you all for the comments and especially for taking the time to listen to the music. Much appreciated.

You are most welcome !

Did you compose other kind of Fantasy music?

There are some more  pieces in my soundclound in the symphonic/orchestral vein though not necessarily inspired by fantasy. Also big metal fan , used to play with a progressive metal band, we had 2 CDs in the 90s with some lyrics inspired by Jordan and Moorcock!
