Actually, I am even new to the series. I mean, I have had the Eye of the World for six years now, but only got around to reading it this May. Currently reading The Shadow Rising.

And yes, Mat was amazing in The Dragon Reborn. TIll now, definitely my favorite character. Also, a lot has been spoiled for me by friends and I know my faith in Mat will not waver :D
