First off.. you may be wondering..what is a meme??

 

Technically, the definition is "an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, especially imitation.  Often a humorous image, video, piece of text, etc. that is copied (often with slight variations) and spread rapidly by Internet users."

 

Early forms of this before it became such a huge phenomenon was "I can haz cheezburger" .. which was pictures of pets (usually cats - what a surprise!) with hilarious captions.  Then it transformed into what we call a "meme".
