Snake and Fox

The snake and fox represent the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn, respectively. To enter their domain, the Tower of Ghenjei, one must draw with a bronze knife an upside-down triangle vertically intersected by a wavy line. This sign is also used to open the game of Snakes and Foxes. The icon has only been used once so far - 'A Village in Shiota', Knife of Dreams; this is the chapter in which Mat finally reads Moiraine's letter to Thom - but it will surely be used again in Towers of Midnight; the Tower of Ghenjei features on the book's cover.
