  1. Hey! I said that when they looked at the caravan. "There's a thousand Aiel there, you just can't see them!"
  2. They recast Cenn Buie from Season 1 in Season 3. All the way back in S1E1, they orginally cast Cenn Buie as David Sterne, but they renamed his character to "Annoying old man" in the credits. Then in S3E3 they cast Cenn as Gregory Gudgeon. They also recast Ihvon between Seasons 2 and 3. I believe because he was busy with another project. Same Character, different actors. All I'm saying, is given the source material? And what these characters are up to. It may not be that crazy to recast someone else to play that role in future seasons... specially if the person you're having play for only part of a season knows their character's going to die and get played by someone else. The real trick, is training the new person to showcase the same mannerisms...
  3. There's been talk that we might get a character like "Aran'gar", so I wonder if they won't just merge the two? We know that we have "4 Girls" and "3 Boys". Lanfear, Graendal Moghidean, and Semi for the "Girls", and Ishy, Rahvin, and Samuel for the Boys. So if "Asmo" is an entertainer like Boy George and Chappell Roan rolled into one, perhaps Lanfear didn't mention Asmo'gar because of her disdain for Asmo'gar's attempts trying to flirt with her man? lol
  4. That's also great thought, considering the last character we knew had a foretelling, literally died from it.
  5. On this front, it looks to me like they murdered every witness in that building. And then you have Tiny who can use compulsion on anyone who comes knocking. So yeah, it was 100% brazen and could draw attention... But they've removed anyone who could have fled.... and anyone who starts asking questions is going to leave with a nose bleed. Yeah, I kind of wish we'd have gotten a little more time with the two brothers getting a little warder training, before Mat walked in there, laid them out flat so the head warder could have started talking about the tale of the greatest swordsman (the one defeated by a farmer with a stick) as Mat and Nynaeve walk off)... That he is. Yeah, I'm expecting this to be a long con of some sort. Possibly a call back to NS. Huzzah! I mean, given the whole Perrin / Faile arc in the books, this is either a win or a lose depending on how you look at it. lol A more mature Faile could easily be a win if it means less... well, what makes a lot of people hate Faile.
  6. That's correct. We mainly only ever seen Rand channel when he's in the scene and it's a scene where they're making it clear he's the one channeling. This is one aspect of the show that's honestly extremely tricky to handle since there's no clear way to establish who's POV the scene is from.
  7. I'd definitely like to read what you have to say about Matrim, after you've finished the first 3 episodes.
  8. I'd balefire someone for 13 episode seasons.
  9. You must have hated Ready Player One.
  10. There's no reason to further steer this discussion, which is about Season 3 of the Wheel of TIme, further off topic, by bringing up how other websites, forums, and social media sites and their staff handle negative comments. From a community aspect, It's also not a great look to completely bypass the "Introduce Yourself" forum, and make this your first post, which also indicates that you've probably ignored this forum as well. Forum Rules & Guides. Dragonmount Code of Conduct. Yep. And mind you, from what I showed, the visitor count I showed you was the pigeon hole number for Thursday & Friday (the days you were looking at). And then the Post/Topic Count is the Month leading up to the Show Release. Anecdotally, I met several people who watched the first Season, but they had NO IDEA, that the second season was even coming out. The 2 year wait time between seasons really sucks for viewer retention... But this is literally par the course for Amazon.
  11. Maybe this will help? (This is site wide activity)
  12. SinisterDeath replied to Aarenis's post in a topic in Introduce Yourself
It really depends on the type of "necro" and "bumping to be honest, but here's a couple of easy examples. of dos and don'ts. Let's say you're reading a topic about some random thing in the books and you quote someone and you say something like The Topic is 3 or 4 years old. That's not bad. You might ask yourself. Sometimes it's worth asking this simple question. Does it make sense to make a new topic just to make this reply? If yes. Make a new Topic. If No. Reply to the topic. Here's a don't. You see a topic that's 15 years old. Someone is talking about something that happened in Book 8, and they think X is going to happen. You reply with something like That's a don't. (and yes this actually happened once) We can't demand others reply to you. If the topic is old. Keep it light hearted, and don't expect that person to ever reply back. If it's really old, and you reply to a lot of old topics all the time, that could honestly be new topics? You might get warnings for that.
  13. Unspoiled Show-Only people who have seen Her name in the X-Ray, or her Casting as the actress as Rand's Mother, will 100% catch it. Others will miss it.
  14. This could be considered a deep cut, for casual viewers, but the information is entirely there for people who have only ever watched the show and never picked up the books to discover. So I absolutely relish the idea of this "big reveal" for some "Youtuber" down the road going "wait a minute", going back pausing S1E7, seeing the x-ray and yelling out "mothers milk in a cup!".
  15. I definitely caught this reference. I also went back to watch that cold opening to see if they ever name dropped her in in the cold opening (they did not), so only people who read the Xray, or her casting would know her character name. 😉 Morgase literally said that they had a succession War because the last Queen's Daughter "Tigraine" ran off. The implication here is that Rand is by Birth, Tigraine's Son.
  16. Sorta. Season 1 had a "Bloated" Budget compared to Seasons 2 & 3, because of 1) Covid 2) They had to create their own studio, because all the other studios were booked. They bought a massive complex over in Prague, and called it Jordan Studios. 3) VHX costs have increased due to Demand. Which further bloats costs compared GoT. HBO, Disney, and other Major studios also have major leverage/control over VHX studios and basically get "First Dibs" on their projects, which pushes other shows behind. Then there's issues with tons of VHX studios going bankrupt. A lot of it has to do with these same networks just... not paying them, purposely to drive them out of business to delay their competitors film. All of this just further drives up the Demand (cost) for VHX work, screws there competitors, and the viewers over as we have to wait 18-24 months for a season now instead of a year. For comparison, Season 1 of House of Dragon (2022) cost nearly $200M to make compared to WoT's $139M Budget for S1 in 2021. So HoD had nearly a $20M per episode budget compared to WoT's $17M per episode. WoT has also had a smaller budget in Season 2 (124M S2, $15.5M per ep) but also had the writers strike.
  17. Fight. Flight. Freeze. Fawn. Flop Those are the five main reactions to "trauma". Look in that room during that battle and you'll see an example of each of those... and in some cases you'll see some people doing multiple reactions.. Freeze -> Flee, or Flee -> Fight, or in the case of the lady that got cut in half, Freeze -> Flop.
  18. I seem to remember someone somewhere asking about Elaida's hands shaking and I can't find the comment now... But I wonder if they're making that a side effect of ongoing compulsion? Also, she called for "Alice". I wonder if Alice is
  19. So for arguments sake... lets say you were going up against a channeler who isn't actively being shielded. How do you actually do anything to them? If they went for the killing blow (decapitation) first, it's likely that she might have been able to stop there blades like what happened when the other Aes Sedai stopped them when they went in for the kill. When they dove in to slash her ankles, that created an opening for them to stab. Perhaps she lost concentration/her hold on the source. They can't see that, men can't. But they can probably make the assumption that she's going to try to block a blow to her head more than her back, and I'm going to assume from how they rolled, a stab like that is faster then a decapitating slash. Now that Stab through both Lungs and what should have been the heart or damn near close to it, should have been more then enough for her to drop her hold on the OP, which is what gave them the go ahead to go for the decap. But they were too slow for plot reasons obviously. Now, could they have done a Stab and a Decap move timed seconds after the other? Absolutely. But then we wouldn't have the Tanchico plot. Yeah, I have absolutely no issues with this plot line. (Big surprise?!) There was already the plotline in the book where Rand and what.. Elayne had some Fun upstairs, and Avi and Birgitte were downstairs getting hammered because they could "feel" everything? or something like that. Adding this one night stand? It makes the Elayne/Avi first wives thing make more sense in a... why did they become friends so fast sort of way?
  20. I wasn't able to get to watch it until 7pm (central) Last night. Which means I didn't finish all 3 episodes until around 10:30ish. By that time I was wrapping it up for the night and didn't want to spend 3 hours discussing stuff on the forums. I also work during the day so posts like this are going to be spotty until I'm done with work. lol
  21. Forums are dying man. More people are using Twitter, Bsky, Instagram, and Discord then Forums.
  22. Yeah, prime's weird. They always claim their Shows release on "Friday", cause they're talking Internationally, but even if you go a little further east to New Zealand, or Christmas Island, it would still have launched on "Thursday" around what... Thursday 10pm for the kiwis, and 9pm for anyone that lives on Christmas Island? Either way, I'm sure you can expect to find some in depth episode reviews today in what is "Internationally Friday" in the land of Madmen, as I'm sure Amazon has lifted their review embargos on the first 3 episodes. 😉
  23. Who says Rand's not going to have a relationship with all three women?
  24. Because Australia lives in the future, and they get to watch it on Friday!
