  1. Sounds like yesterday was fun! I'm sorry the heat is causing problems. ?

We are doing another work-day out on Site tomorrow for our kingdom's 40th anniversary event coming up. Clearing out some more under-tree areas for additional shade, and trimming up the path that is the short-cut from the parking field to the main part of site.

After that, gonna go see the new Lion King with my boys. My son is exactly the same age I was when the first one came out (and he loves the original too), so this is going to be cool. ?

  2. It was miserable here last week until a cold front coming in Monday knocked it down to the high-80s for a couple of days. Rest of the week will be 90s, but at least it won't be back up above 100 for a bit! Also, our Air Conditioner has new refrigerant, and is much happier. ?

  3. I write, a lot, and read books. I pet my cats and play with my dogs. I paint and sketch. I cook/bake.

Sometimes we go 'out' to a movie. It's a nice change of pace, and somehow sitting there with popcorn watching on the big screen is still kind of magical despite being able to do this at home on my TV. ?

I also like finding interesting places to go for walks that aren't really crowded. There are several parks in our town, one of which is around a small lake but has proper side-walks since people like to bike and walk around it a lot. They also allow fishing there (which my son enjoys).

I discovered our city's botanical garden just on the other side of town and that's a great, well-shaded place to walk full of interesting and unusual plants and landscaping. I find it restful and inspiring, and it's rarely got a lot of people besides whatever few folks from the university are working on the garden itself and taking care of it.

Find a museum nearby, or a zoo. Go walk around, enjoy the view. Take photos (or draw).

There are a lot of things I like to do that can recharge me and help me relax. So I tend to vary it up a bit.

  4. I love tomatoes. They are one of the few things my son doesn't like raw though. lol. (He will eat them in just about anything if they aren't completely raw though). I would like to try growing avocados, sweet peppers, some fresh herbs. The local farmer's market shows up with a lot of different zucchini, squash, spinach, onions etc during the year, so they must be able to grow here if I can get it right. What I would really like to get growing is fruit. Blackberries grow here. Blueberries grow well here in large pots (the berry farm we went to actually had an entire field of them 'in pots').
