One thing that might explain some of this is how ingrained hierarchy based upon strength in the power is within the white tower. In the books Egwene, Elayne, and Aviendha are considerably stronger than any other AS, with Nynaeve being a step above them. So some deference into be expected. Yes, AS v. Accepted is a thing but according to the show rules Accepted are allowed to leave the tower as they wish. So she basically just out lawyered them.

I think some people want to assume they are trying to be edgy for views. I can see the Liandrin we have in the show, being driven to take over that building in order to complete the ritual for her beloved son by any means necessary. Then seeing another helpless young girl being married into a life she didn't appear to want just setting her off. Once she killed the man, no witnesses applies. The BA sisters aren't going to hold back once given an order by their leader. Context might help explain Morgase's actions. Also she is demonstrated in the books as being pragmatic and somewhat morally flexible. For context this would be after Elaida had her foretelling regarding "the royal house of Andor". She wrongly assumes its about her or Elayne and is even more driven to secure the throne. I'm not sure it would be a given, but I think it isn't the stretch some people are making it out to be.

Perhaps look at this in another way. One group of criminals is in control of a neighbourhood. Another stronger group decides they want to control said neighbourhood. They take out the first group in a somwwhat obvious, extremely violent manner. You live in said neighbourhood. Do you confront the powerful group? Do you ask for government assistance knowing that the group will likely find out you did it? Do you "mind your own business" and hope they don't come after you? The book expressedly singles out Emonds Field as being the remnants of the storied blood of Manetheren, who valiantly fought for their homes. You see most people's reaction to the Seanchan takeover of their nations. They swear the oaths and go on with their lives. I think your average villager in Randland just puts their head down and tries to struggle on. Not everyone is a hero.

I didn't really miss the extras. It shows the Aiel setting out in 10000 individual wagons. Some would have formed up together at points but any scene could be a small group experiencing the difficulty of traversing the land in those tumultuous times. In the grandfather scene, it appears that they had just been attacked. So how many were killed and possibly carried off with wagons of treasure in that attack? I felt it showed that although most everyone abandoned the mission they were given, a remnant of a remnant held true and finally made it to Rhuidian. Overall, I felt it was very well done. Only slight issue was Avi v. LAN. She is really cool but only Rhuarc is probably an even match for Lan. BTW, I absolutely love the guy playing Rhuarc. He is doing a super job.

My take was that it looked like a shady part of town. Say you are a street level criminal in such a place and you find out that powerful unscrupulous people have massacred 30+ people. Do you want to confront them? Now you are a member of the town watch making low wages. The same question? Or are you just gonna keep your head down and look to move?
