    Hooray for babies!  Just think, 13 more years or so and we'll have another RPer to add to the PSW!  Keep breeding the RP soldiers, everyone; we'll take over the world eventually!

    How has your character's perceptions changed (for better or worse) as they've grown/developed?  How do they view the world and it's peoples?  Try writing an RP where they  have to come face to face with those perceptions and either confirm them or realize they might have been wrong.

    Do elements of the real world make it into your RP?  As you might know, RJ based many of the cultures of Randland on real life cultures.  Do you use the same inspiration when you write?  Turns of phrase, event that happen to you, even everyday objects (I've seen ter'angreal that are analogues for video cameras, electric guitars, and plastic air fresheners!).  Think about what you see around you next time you are stuck and maybe it will inspire you!  What real life things do YOU use in your RP?

    Visar:  It is tough to get started 'crossing the border' between the rp community and org community if you've only been at one or the other.  But I think you'll find once you do that there is a whole other rewarding experience to be had at DM.  From your interests, I think you might enjoy stopping in and having a chat at the White Tower Org with our subgroup, the Warder's Guild.  They talk military and weaponry pretty often!  (And I am NOT just saying this since I'm the Org Leader there lol!).

     

    Andrea: good luck on your Visa application!  Why not bring that CotL bio out of the trunk?  They could use some more lightfools!

     

    Asfaloth:  Welcome back to DM :)  Congrats on your impending new arrival!  Your separated twin characters sound very interesting.  Claire is a twin as well; her sister Arden was turned Dark with a 13/13 circle after DF killed her whole family.  

     

    Eqwina: I reallllly wish we had got together before I moved from Kansas.  I'm thinking of joining the cool kids and making an Aiel (it's the thing to do recently, isn't it!)

     

    Lav: Hey you!  :)  I understand the attraction of continuing to play with a 1st character; I can't give Claire up.  Even after killing her off, I brought her back to play with cause she's so darn spunky and fun for a 270 year old!

     

    FDM:  So excited for you about those teaching opportunities; they'll look great on your resume!  You go, girl!  :D

    Does your character enjoy reading, watching gleemen, etc?  If so, what books do they like and what are the books about?

     

    This is an interesting way to develop your character's personality better.  Does your soldier like a good romance novel?  Perhaps your character is illiterate?  Consider developing an RP arc where they are taught to read by another.

    Is your character facing any major changes about their life (relationship, occupational, living situation, education, etc) right now?  If not, does your character want to make a change in any of those areas?  Have you RPed any of the transition that your character will go through during this change?

     

    The last transition RP I remember doing is Gianna (my Blue) coming out of a major depression following her failure at her arches (1st & 2nd tries).  I'm looking forward to another one during the Bowl of the Winds plot arc, as Cetaile my Gray discovers she is NOT a Windfinder, she is Aes Sedai, and to continue holding on to what cannot be is pointless.

     

     

    Claire stood outside Carina's door, hand raised to knock.  Her meeting last night with the First Chair had gone rather well, considering the slightly awkward situation Claire was in at the moment.  Raeyn thankfully hadn't taken her to task...yet, and they had instead passed the time discussing this promising young woman who would hopefully join their ranks today.  As Claire had walked with the other sisters to the Accepted gallery, she thought she spied not a few jealous glances in her direction.  Now she allowed herself a little smile with her back to the rest of the sisters.

     

    Not today, ladies...this one is all ours.

     

    She rapped sharply on the door three times, and swung it open when she heard Carina say "Come!" from the other side.  The woman looked out at her with faint surprise.  She didn't appear to be weary from her all-night vigil.

     

    And how can I blame her?  I was excited as a farm girl on fair-day the morning I was raised.

     

    Claire smiled at Carina and stepped back out into the hallway, gently closing the door behind her.  She waited patiently with the other Aes Sedai until Carina came out several minutes later, dressed and freshened.  The sisters circled Carina and the octet began the long procession into the bowels of the Tower, to the testing chamber where Carina had proven her worth the day before.

     

    The group reached the chamber; the heavy wooden doors stood open and there was light from the standlamps pouring into the hall.  The escort formed a line behind Carina as they entered the room.  Once they were all in place, the Amyrlin spoke, her voice ringing in the acoustics of the chamber.

     

    "Who comes here?" she asked.

     

    And now it begins...a lifelong career ahead of her and it starts today.  Claire smiled to herself and waited for the rest of the ceremony to unfold.

     

     

    The one idea I had (will have to wait til after bowl of winds for me to pull it off) was a tower wide RP.  A major city has a wildfire, maybe Jehennah.  All the Ajahs dispatch sisters to help with the disaster relief.  I thought maybe a library could be involved in the fire and the Browns are tasked with saving as many of the documents and such as they can.

    Wonderful to meet you, Dasterly, and great to learn more about you Rasheta!  I seem to not have as much time as usual to RP recently (probably because of my WT Org responsibilities), but I'm trying!

     

    Dasterly, I hope you get that bio in!  The Freelanders are currently awaiting a new Division Leader to be chosen to take over the helm, so if you don't get a response right away, let us know here and we can get your bio squared away!

    I should mention that in that thread I really thought I WAS killing her off at the time, but the fact that I didn't make any specific ties that held the RP to a certain time period worked in my favor when I decide I wanted to RP as her again.  For somebody who planned it out ahead of time, it could be an even more interesting plot device.

    This one is doubly appropriate (those who have read TGS will know why!)

     

    If your character knew they had a limited time left to live, what would they do? Would they prefer to spend their final bit of time with a loved one or alone? What would they choose for their last meal?

     

    As tough as it sounds, you actually CAN RP out your character's death ahead of time.  We do retro RPs all the time, so why not try a future RP?  It's like a blank check you write to yourself; to actually RP your character's death ahead of time, but never specify WHEN it's going to happen.  http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,5856.0.html is where I did this exact thing with my Brown, Claire.

    If your character could relive one hour of their life so far, what would they choose and why? Would they do or say anything different? How do they think it would change their life?

     

     

    You could play this out in interesting ways; contemplating or bemoaning the past over a cup of ale, a dream, or how about a bubble of evil/disturbance in the pattern that forces you to re-live the last few minutes/an hour before righting itself again?  How would your character react?

    I can't promise I'll get these up daily, but I'll do my best.  These prompts will be coming from livejournal and other places, but modified to fit our RP world here.  Here's the first one:

     

    If you character could go back in time to another Age, which Age would you choose and why? Would you want to return or stay there? What if you could bring one other person with you?

     

    This could be RPed as a dream or daydream sequence by your character in the PSW...or you could go over to Rev One and actually RP being in the Trolloc War or the Age of Legends.  Let imagination be your guide!
