I'm not caught up yet, but want to address this. You don't have to explain how DM defines meta - I'm literally the longest standing mafia player on the site, heh. The acronym means what I said it means - DM has just tweaked it a little to mean "playstyle", but it's really more "playstyle that works for that person"...aka most effective tactic. Tomato, tomahto, right?

Ah, ok. I think we just use the term meta differently. So you're saying you're a "gut player" and not an "analytical player". Meta is what works, aka the "most effective tactics available", or what playstyle is working best at the time. So, your meta is to use your gut to read players. Cool beans, I can get down with that.

This is where ISOing you becomes a chore that most won't bother with. It lets you skate on stuff you've said previously, which also tends to make people want you dead early (i.e. less work later, heh). Just sayin'.

I have a question on that role. If the watcher "watches" a scum team member, will they see that person visit another for the scum team's factional NK? Does the scum team pick a player to perform the NK and the watcher can only get info by watching that specific scum team member?

My persona on JN is very different than my persona here. JN has much less code of conduct rules and we are pretty nasty to each other, but it's done with respect and humor. When that happens here, it gets nasty and nonproductive. Basically, it's because we're all book nerds here, and JN is a jocky sports site, lol.

Hate to agree with him here, but it is NAI right now. That said, I think he's painted himself into a corner with Lenlo and I do think we should lynch in that duo for D1. We should be able to piece it together reasonably well. For example, if the mafia and vig both shoot, the vig would likely reveal that next day and we could use that info properly. Scum would be unlikely to counter as it would be easy to just lynch them and test.

I hear ya. It's just his playstyle, as you well know. Honestly, I skim Zander early in games, but read him closely later on.

Don't we have a watcher and not a cop? Or am I remembering the setup incorrectly? Absolutely possible, yes. This is why I like the idea of lynching one and having our watcher (or whatever town investigative role we have) peek the other.

Eh, don't worry about win rate discussions. My win rate on DM is probably amazing (I used to win all the time maybe 15-18 years ago, but that means absolutely nothing. I'm still prone to play like a moron and be lolverbal.

This is at least the 2nd time you've referenced Zander as the vig. How have you arrived at that? Is it just his post where he mentioned vengeance or something?

When Zander is not pressured as town, he's actually quite useful. But when he gets pressure, which happens from time to time, he goes into the mode he's currently in (i.e. frantic vibes) and drowns himself out.

Exactly this last sentence. It's not a bad idea to lynch from the two of them today and learn a ton going into D2. Is the scum team just watching this? Lynch one, watch the other, profit. Yes. Maybe not the plot piece, but you most definitely have a plan each game.
