When he first heard Thom I didn’t notice the singing. I though he was maybe distracted by a game of dice and I thought we were going to see him go and win a dozen rolls in a row or something.
I thought we’d see some sort of montage of him winning at dice during the “Hills of Tanchico” sequence. Missed opportunity.

It would have been so easy to have any character, even the guys selling it to him, to just say something “you have the Dark One’s luck” or something like that to hint that there is a supernatural element to Mat’s fortunes.Yeah. That would have been nice. I hope we start seeing it more explicitly

I wondered that about the books too.
How are the hunters supposed to recognize the actual horn?
Sure, it's supposed to have a writing on it, and i can bet you in every city you could buy a dozen "authentic" horns of valere
I always loved that notion in the books. It would be like trying to find one particular “I❤️NY” tshirt.

I'm not sure of what they are going to do in any direction with her the only thing I would be fairly certain is if they do remove her and bring her back the length of time she is gone will be greatly reduced from the book length. 1 season max.
I think maybe a season and change - bringing her back at the end of S5 would seem about right.

It's probably a thing that varies for each individual but I never considered any of the books a slog.
I am also a massive re reader I have read the completed series above 10 times and the earlier books more than double that number with the earlier the book obviously having the most reads. The only sections that I find a little slow are the early parts of Faile's capture and the early section of Elayne's securing the throne.
The “slog” had more to do with waiting for the next book only to have many of the plot lines go unresolved. Now that all the books are out, it’s really an unfair label.

I think they're also pulling back on his (stress and madness driven) unwillingness to kill women that develops. They're going to give him a different reason for not striking Lanfear down later, if it still goes down remotely similarly.
I have long argued that this show would be best served by making the audience believe that Rand turning to the Dark is a real possibility. To that end, an emotional connection to Lanfear keeps the tension ratcheting up until the very end. So to that end, I think it is a very smart choice.
It also gives a second compelling reason to keep the Tower of Ghenji in. The audience will tire of the Rand/Lanfear dynamic. If you ice her for a season and change, then bring her back right as things are getting hairy for Rand…

If I learned that my wife was a brutal torturer and genocidal-level maniac who had led terrible mass-atrocity-commiting armies trying to conquer the world for a cosmic entity she'd willingly sworn herself to that is looking to bring misery and suffering and pain and despair to all... that would damage our relationship a mite. Might even feel lied to and betrayed.
But Rand can change her!! Remember, she’s manipulating him into thinking this wasn’t really her fault. She’s just been misunderstood.
And she’s been actively helping him, telling him she loves him, how she wants to reform and break her dark oaths and kill the Dark One.
That’s a siren song for some men, especially if the sex is good.

Rand's 3 GF's are explained in the Origins of the Wheel of Time. "The Three women of the story will be perceived not only as the three who took Arthur to Avalon, but also as the origin of the triple Goddess personified as Maiden, Nymph, and Hag. " So it wasn't something RJ just tossed in but more of the myths and legends.
No one is saying that he is. But look, if you are setting out to make a show with “more queer representation,” then the appropriate way to do that is to use characters for which there is some textual support for the change.
Whether you agree with the interpretations or not, there is a textual hook for making Siuan and Moiraine a couple and for making Avi gay or bisexual.
This is far better than just making Perrin gay, for example. I really think this show is a great example of inclusivity done right.

But at no point in the books do I remember those wives actually having a sexual relationship with each other. The same as in the books Rand's wives do not have a sexual relationship with each other.
So what? What possible difference does Aviendha’s sexuality make to the story?

They sidelined Nynaeve after her testing?—IMO it was an over compensating nerf for the ninja powers they gave her in S1. She can take out a trolloc solo (something a rusty sword master could not do) and sneak up on the best swordsman, legendary warder, king heir of a nation known for its martial prowess.
No question that they did Lan dirty with that. It was two seasons ago though. Time to move on. The course correction from S1 to S2 was significant.

The orderly from the mental institution—so that he could serve Logain.
The more important question is why you think this is contrary to Canon? Do you not think Rand killed people while wandering alone during tDR? It's a function of saidin's influence. These are "show don't tell" breadcrumbs people will be able to follow later.

From what I remember it was implied that Nynaeve was training regularly with the warders—completely unnecessary, but part of the “woman power” glow up from the writers.
You really haven't been paying attention. Nynaeve has done nothing for a season and a half. To the point where people are starting to complain that she's being ignored.
Rand, meanwhile, is clearly the main character and just returned from Rhuidean at dawn.
The only character at this point who has received a "woman power glow up" is Egwene. And even there, it's mostly just fast forwarding her power development.

I’m more referring to Thom as the vehicle for learning that “Lord Gaebril” is not who he claims to be.
