I think that is the reason they showed Moiraine and Lan: Moiraine underestimates the situation, saying "It's not about [Suan} today" So does Alanna, when she tells her Warders that they've got it covered and shouldn't worry.

In the preview, there is a white metal ring that looks very much like what I pictured the Ter'angreal for the Accepted test. I'm curious to see how it will be used. Also curious what the show's take on Faile will be...

I appreciate that you brought up the inner journey about earning the Shawl. I think of it as an integral part of moving from Novice to Accepted to full Sister. And, in the books, it is meant to be a transformative journey. That is most likely true, @Turin Turambar... And you are making an excellent point, @Ithillian Turambar Sedai. I thought I caught a glimpse of the Black Sitters looking around the room when they first joined Liandrin. If the show respects the "heart" structure of the BA in the books, then it stands to reason that not all of them knew each other before that moment.

I'm all for the placebo effect: if I'm making this chocolate taste better my investing my thoughts into it, perfect! Now could we go as far as an existential claim... by which I can make "allegedly not-chocolate" (aka white chocolate) not only TASTE like chocolate but also BECOME chocolate, by sheer will power? Taps her lip thoughtfully... Hmm, would that be a question for the Brown Ajah? Or would it be for the Whites? And if we carry the metaphor, could we turn the White Ajah into the Brown Ajah by combining the (will) Power with a dash of placebo effect??
