  1. Practically anything will do for Rebecca, as long as it involves being sneaky.

Preferably non-OP related, she doesn't want to rely on something too much.

  2. During the spar, if it could be called that, Mara had gradually slipped into the habit of being on the offensive. Despite every blow she rained down on the swordsman be effortlessly blocked, deflected or simply sidestepped she kept at it, knowing her attacks were starting to slow down. It came as a surprise when Mehrin countered a swing of hers, pushing her back across the deck of the ship.

She tried her best not to fall, going so far as to use the tip of her wooden training weapon as a crutch to help her break the momentum she had. Almost as soon as she turned around, she had to raise said weapon again to block a blow that would have caught her across the shoulder. Had she still been holding the weapon with one hand, she doubted she'd have managed the speed and strength to stop it.

More attacks followed, and it was all she could do to keep that mop off of her. At first, she watched Mehrin's movements to see if she could gleam a trick or two for her own use, but as both his movements started quickening and her own slowing down due to fatigue starting to catch up, it was all she could do to keep her blade intercepting his attacks. Not the type to give up though, she clenched her jaw and simply kept at it, refusing to give up or call a time out no matter how fast his movements would become.

Some might call it stubborn, but she hadn't gotten to where she was now by giving up easily.

  3. Jerinia felt rather nervous as she entered the dining room, still looking for a way to break the news to Satin. The words had still not come, and she knew her face was not as serene as an Aes Sedai -- or even Accepted -- were expected to be. The smell of food reached her, but she decided to ignore it for now, instead preferring to focus on the matter at hand. She had wasted enough time trying to prepare her little talk, and had she kept on doing it five more minutes she would have found the dining room likely empty.

She sighed deeply, looking into the dining hall, but saw no sign of her Mentee. She brushed saidar, and a faint glow that was so small it was almost impossible to see surrounded her for a moment, and with the enhancement of her senses she managed to pick out Satin from a table near the wall. She was sitting with her back towards her, which was perhaps for the better. It allowed her to get closer before being spotted.

Walking over, she felt herself getting more and more nervous, the feeling her stomach was giving her made her want to throw up. The smell of the food wasn't helping much to that effect either, but she managed to keep it suppressed by sheer willpower. Wordlessly walking past Satin, she sat down across the table from her, a worried look on her face.

    - "Umm.. Satin? We need to... talk. About the note you left in my room."

She bit the corner of her lip nervously, glancing at the tables next to her to see if they were within hearing range. They were not, but she lowered her voice anyway, just in case. She leaned a little closer to Satin as well, but then changed her mind and remained sitting the way she had been.

    - "You see... I love the flowers, and i'm flattered about your note and all, but erm... How shall i put this... I like boys."

As she spoke, she had started fidgeting, looking about nervously as if she didn't quite know what to say. She had heard rumors about this whole 'pillow friend' business during her time as a Novice, but the simple fact was that she wasn't attracted to women, and had been looking for the right way to break the news to her Mentee. Hopefully, she wouldn't be taking it the wrong way...

    Jerinia

Likely has the wrong idea again...

  4. Jerinia smiled as each of her students gave a correct answer, much as she expected them to. It was a bit surprising to hear Fire being the last to be named, though that could be because of her own preference for the element. Chances were her students weren't as strong in Fire as she was, and thus didn't think of applications of the element as much as she did.

    - "Correct, all three of you! Chances are, you've been wondering what the remaining two ways are now, and we will get to that in a minute. First though, i'll remove the answers that were given from the list."

    SPIRIT

The threads forming the words blurred, turning into double lines to show the answer had been crossed out. Which, as she had just said, left two answers still open. A smile crept on her lips as she wondered whether they'd be able to think of the final two. Truth be said, until the White Ajah Aes Sedai she had approached to help her with the assignment had given her the answers, she doubted she could have thought of them herself if the tables would have been turned now. Ah yes, which reminded her.

    - "The reason why i gave you this problem to solve was to remind you that there are always several ways to handle a problem. In the end, it doesn't matter whether you're strong or weak in an element, or even the One Power in general, as long as you can think of a way to apply your strengths in different ways to get the job done."

She looked at the threads again before turning back to her students. The easy part was done now, but she couldn't help but wonder if they would be able to figure out the remaining answers amongst themselves. The way Chamindhra Sedai explained it to her, it was quite an important part of knowing how to channel as well, and she didn't want to skip it after the work the two of them had put in together.

    - "Now, though all of you just passed Basic Saidar class, i'm going to offer you one last problem... What are the last two ways to get the water out of the sponge? Again, you don't have to answer this, but i want to find out whether you can figure this one out. You may discuss this amongst yourselves... Have fun girls!"

She chuckled at that last bit, feeling a bit excited at wondering how long it would take them to come up with the answer.

    Great Teacher Jerinia

    Riddle me this...

  5. Jerinia watched as the students tried to master the basic weaves. Though her own lessons back when she was a Novice hadn't included actively channeling until she had spent at least a couple of months in the Tower, she didn't really think anything could go wrong with a class this small. Not in the way hers had gone wrong, anyway, with weaves flying left and right and--

Giving herself a mental slap on the wrist for having her thoughts trail off, she looked at the Novices sitting in class in front of her. She didn't say anything unless she felt she needed to, allowing them to improve their weaves through trial and error. Channeling hadn't really made any sense to her up until the moment she had first channeled, and she believed it for the best if 'her' Novices would have a small head start under her supervision.

She still kept a shield at the ready in case something went wrong, but it looked like everything went according to plan, them too focused on their own channeling to be distracted by each other. One could hear a pin drop. After a few more minutes, she softly tapped her nail on the wood, the sound meant as a gentle way to attract attention without startling anyone before she started to speak again.

    - "Great job everyone! Though it's good to see you all so eager to learn, i doubt any of you would want to miss dinner over it, so i'd say Class is over now. There's still about... ten minutes to go before the bell rings, but you've earned the chance to get to the dinner hall early. See you all next week!"

After she had finished, she moved to collect the bowls, candles and parchment that were still sitting next to her desk, leaving the objects her students had been working with for last. If anyone wanted to spend some additional time studying she wouldn't stop them, though in her experience channeling could work up as much an appetite as swinging a sword in the Yards did. Not that she'd ever been in the Yards, of course... But she had spent a penance or two working in the kitchens, and knew the Warders certainly ate as much as the Novices and Accepted.

    Great Teacher Jerinia

    Just ended class

  6. I have a Kin PC, and might be persuaded to make a Sea Folk once the BoW RP is over (need to see them to get a handle on the style).

If one of the parts consist of Kin trying to get in touch with Windfinders, i have an FL ship captain that could help with that. Technically a channeler, but blocked like no tomorrow so she won't be able to actively participate in the circle.

But hey, at least you'd have logistics covered ;)

  7. Jerinia walked through the corridor, looking as nervous as she knew she was feeling. The dots were still filling her mind with all kinds of thoughts, not in the least how someone could have planted them there without anyone noticing. Maybe someone from the Warder Yards... But wasn't it strictly forbidden to even full Warders to enter the Novice and Accepted dorms? She was sure she'd gotten into trouble for that once...

She looked at the door leading to her room for what must have been five minutes before she could muster the courage to open it. Her hands were shaking so bad she had to use both of them to turn the handle, and taking a deep breath of air, she slipped into her room and opened her eyes, only to see what she feared she would have. She glanced from one end of the room to another, frantically finding a place to focus on that didn't have blue dots on it.

And then, her eyes found the vase with flowers.

'This is it,' she told herself, 'I need to find out who did this.'. There was a list of potential candidates running through her mind, but all of them seemed like vague guesses at best. Talking some courage into herself, she slowly stepped towards the vase, eyes locked on it so as to avoid seeing the blue dots she was stepping on. Ever so gently, her eyes found the card attached to it, and she peeked into it just far enough to spot the name of her Mentee written there.

The name was... surprising to say the least. She had heard of relations being built between Novices -- and sometimes Accepted -- during their education at the White Tower, but to think that Satin... Oh, it wasn't that she was angry about it, far from it. If anything, she was feeling flattered for the amount of work the Novice had apparently put into this, but the girl obviously had the wrong idea if she thought...

Shaking her head to get rid of that train of thought, she took another deep breath, storming out of her room so as to avoid the blue dots. Once outside, she leaned against the wall, lost in thought searching for the right words to say to her Mentee the next time she saw her around. Probably in the dining room somewhere by now, though considering the situation she'd prefer a bit more privacy for this particular discussion.

Trying to find the right words

  8. Daciana followed obediently, the feeling of excitment increasing as the two of them stalked out of the dungeon and through the city. She liked this game the two of them played, pretending to be Hunter stalking a prey. Hunter didn't like her pretending to be her, had something to do with avoiding sasp..suspe... making sure no one would be able to tell where Hunter was.

When the sack descended upon her though, and she found herself tied up before she could get over the shock and react, the grim realisation dawned on her that this time, she had been the prey. Struggling against her bonds, she could hear the rope groan under the pressure, but her captor knew her knots well, it seemed. The fighting and yelling Daciana did to break free of her bonds however had another side effect...

"...Mind telling me where we are?"

Realising her sister was waking up, she stopped physically struggling, instead focusing her attention inward to speak to her 'older sister'.

    - "SIS! I'm in trouble an' i was arrested an' some lady stuffed me in a sack an' i dunno what to dooooo!!!!"

"Calm down, i am awake. Now, tell me everything, from the beginning, and your big sister will make everything all better again."

    - "...Okay. Well, i was in the Tavern to get summin to eat when this guard walked in an' said i had to go to jail. I thought he was making a joke, but then..."

A short while later, Hunter knew everything that had happened. Due to the encounter she had had last night, she had already taken an educated guess as to whom would have been responsable for her kidnapping just now. The one thing she was wondering however was just what Winifred was trying to achieve with it. She was unharmed save for some scrapes and bruises trying to escape from a sack, and bailing her out of jail meant the woman had plans for her, but overall she figured the best thing to do would be to play along, at least until she knew more. Choosing her words, she started talking to Daciana again.

"Okay, so this is what we will do. For now, we shall see where we are taken, as i seek to discover what this woman's motives are. If they want to hurt us, i will jump in and get us out, so there is no need to worry. I will keep you safe..."

On the 'outside', Daciana seemed to have stopped struggling completely, though Winifred would be able to feel her fear be replaced with some minor mood swings as the mental discussion between Daciana and Hunter progressed, only to end in a fair share of seemingly misplaced confidence. Hunter would protect her, she said she would. And big sis always kept her word...

    Daciana

    Talking to herself

  9. Possibly.

Arienna can remember as far back as one night before she had to run. While heading through the forest, she tripped and hit her head, causing minor amnesia. She's also prevented several assassination attempts on her Lord by spotting the killers before they could strike, and the Tracker's only been leading her farther away from the city, strengthening her suspicions.

I think she broke his jaw at one point during her intro thread.

So yeah, even though your Wolfie isn't likely to get himself stabbed under normal circumstances, Arienna's distrust is bordering on complete paranoia too much to even get as much as a decent conversation going. She needs some time to collapse from the stress first, and open up a little.

  10. Ugh, wish i could but both my chars are stuck atm.

Arienna mistrusts the Wolfkin, and believes they're plotting against her Lord.

Daciana would (at this point) kill and eat you given half the chance, and likely grin while doing it.

    Overall, if you feel like getting stabbed and/or eaten alive, feel free to drop me a line. If not, then you might want to wait a bit for someone else to drop by ^^;
