Perivar watched Kabria as she slowly paced through the armory as graceful as a Queen as she eyed the weapons. He studied her every movement reveling in the fact that she was simply near him. Occasionally she would glance back at him and his heart would skip a beat. Light but she was gorgeous, he feared that he would wake from the dream and be brought back to reality.
Her first selection was a set of throwing knives. At first he thought it was a unique choice though they could come in handy when Saidar was not an option. He blushed when he thought of the possible places where she would hide them. He hurried to compose himself before she looked at him again. She walked over placing them on the bench and he gave her a smile.
Her next selection was a short double edged sword. He always prefered the double edge swords over the single edged type. It seemed to suit her and he could picture her carrying a sword like that. From what he knew she would certainly fit in with the Greens he thought.
The last one that she selected was a quarterstaff which she used as a walking stick as she returned to the table. He stood behind her as she looked over what she had gathered on the table. She fingered a dagger though he was busy with thoughts of brushing her red tipped hair aside so he could kiss her neck.
His eyes went to the floor beside her feet as he heard the dagger hit the floor. He saw the drops of blood as he bit back a gasp as he called her name. He quickly grabbed her hand checking for the source of the blood. The cut found at the base of her hand where it met her wrist was not deep but she would need stiches or healing hre thought. "What happened?" He asked as he wiped the blood away so he could get a better look. Perivar guided her down gently so that she could sit on the bench.
"You could have done worse. When in my instructions did I say that you were supposed to cut yourself." He joked with her as he tore strips of cloth for a bandage trying to distract her. Some people did not like the sight of blood. She seemed so matter of fact about it but he didn't want to take a chance with her. "I swore an oath to protect you but it is supposed to be protection from others not from yourself."
Perivar covered the wound with a folded up piece of clean cloth then tied the strips of cloth around her wrist to hold it in tight. "Do you want to me to get an Aes Sedai for healing or do you want to wait 'til it stops bleeding and see how it looks then." As she thought on the question he kissed her forehead. "Really you must be more careful my dear."
In all the commotion he had not noticed the grinning Accepted who stood in the doorway. Even though the girl was grinning she had a slight tinge of red staining her cheeks. She drew herself up "By the description I was given I take it you are Perivar." He simply nodded as she handed him a sealed letter. He stared at it like an adder then placed it on the bench. She glanced at the blood on the floor then at Kabria's wrist before taking her leave.
He turned his attention back to Kabria "How does it feel?" as he checked to see if the blood was soaking through the bandage though she was looking at the letter as if staring at it would reveal the contents. The bandage was clean so the bleeding was stopping but Kabria refused to let him fuss after her any longer as she insisted that he opened the letter. Grudgingly he opened it knowing what the contents would hold. Light not now he thought.
Perivar used one of the throwing knives to open it then kept in his hand as he read. "Not now" He half shouted as he read it again. This was the worst possible timing. He was so angry that he laid it on the table and stabbed it with the throwing knife. From where she sat he knew that Kabria could read it. Not now he thought as his heart ached.

He was envisioning each piece when he noticed the man approaching. He was not sure of his name but he had seen him around the training grounds. The man gave a quick, friendly grin and scratched at the Illianer-cut beard that framed his square jaw.
When the man spoke there was no doubt from where he came "You do be constructing a ship, yes?" "I do know a bit about ships myself. If you do no mind the company..." Some Tairens and Illianers did not like each other from centuries of disagreements that were common with neighboring countries though Geirrin felt none of he. He had been a simple fisherman who had no reason to hate another or even hold a grudge for something he knew nothing about. Plus they were family here.
He smiled at the man, he obviously knew ships since he had reasoned it out just looking at the planks, spars, and braces. To anyone but a sailor they would have just looked like pieces of wood.
"Yes I am, a fishing vessel, you are welcome to join me if you wish. I was just about to begin shaping the beams so I can begin to frame out the hull." As he spoke he was still eyeing the wood to make sure that he had cut enough. "I've worked 'em but never built one before so I'm not sure if I've cut enough wood. Well if not there is plenty more where that came from." He waved his arm at the forest around them. "Have you any skill with shaping?"

Sorry, I'm tired must have forgotten to put the next sentence ;D
The TG Ceremony is WS 6-7, and because you can't skip it, you can't do anything for advancement until you get that done. So before we start talking about TG Reqs lets talk about actually getting to that TG Ceremony.
Sorry if my post seemed conceted (because when I look over it, it kinda does ;) )
Yeah no problem it's all good. It is the downfall of written forms of communication.
You are right about the TG ceremony that is why we are trying to get it done. The good news is as Jehaine said above, the final steps for Melenis have been submitted so once they are approved we are ready to go.

“I love you” Her magical words shook his foundation to the core. He had felt it but those three words confirmed it all. He want them to resonate through his head forever. He spoke to her though he knew his voice held the shook that he still felt at her words. "I love you too Kabria" his words seemed less for she had spoken first.
Her next words were spoken as if they were a command, a stern task mistress who would brook no argument yet the words flowing from the pretty little mouth. “I Kabria Delondre love you Perivar Tarigan, and will until my dying day and beyond” Her fierce conviction said that it would be so an he pitied the person who thought to tell her otherwise. Her words were stronger than any oath. He repeated her words exactly as it sounded so official, kind of like a...no he could not dare to hope for that. He quickly pushed the thought aside repeating the vow.
“I Perivar Tarigan love you Kabria Delondre, and will until my dying day and beyond”
“You have obliged my wishes and so now I will oblige yours.” He arched an eyebrow wondering if she was toying with him. She had left him no choice but to lead on. He wanted to hold her to kiss her yet he led her to the armory like a boy who had his favorite toy taken from him.
Perivar paid no mind to the bustle in the yard, his only thoughts were of her. He walked like a lovestruck boy who just received his first kiss. He had not even realized that she had been walking a pace behind until he reached the door to the armory.
As he held the door Perivar frowned at her white dress, no that would not do to get her dirty. When he looked up at her face it held a smile, it didn't seem posible but she was even more beautiful when she smiled. Why did she do this to him. He was struggling to fulfill his duty yet she made it so hard to concentrate. "Where do you begin?” She spoke and he led her into the Armory. Weapons in evey shape, size, and configuration sat in racks or hung on the walls.
Perivar went to a coat rack. After searching to find the right one he produced a laborer's smock which was obviously made for a woman. He checked to make sure it was clean before handing it to her. Kabria took it from him though eyed him the question plain on her face.
"To keep your dress clean of course." He said with a smile that said he was toying with her. She would have easily understood that part though he was in love and he enjoyed being with her. Perhaps he was even a little giddy. Play time was over and now he became serious.
"You may hate me for it but I will not treat you any different than any other trainee. I would be doing you a disservice to treat you otherwise. One day your life may depend on the training you will receive here so I will train you as hard as any other. Harder because I could not stand to see anything happen to you, my love." His tone changed from serious to admiration when he spoke the last two words.
"To properly learn to use a weapon you must first understand them and learn to care for them. Now walk around and pick out three weapons that interest you. You can place them here on this table. When you have picked three we will begin. If you have any questions then do not hesitate to ask." He watched as she began, light she was beautiful.

Perivar's nervousness had all but washed away everything was so clear the more they spoke. Then Master Kynwric told their story and he listened as the horrific tale unfolded. He thought of Kabria, what if it had been them. The thought if it may him shiver, he would go out of his mind. Would he have the strength to endure. HOw could you survive knowing your mind was lost. He was staring at Master Kynwric hanging on every word though he wanted to somehow block it out of his mind. He saw him look at Loraine, the love was there but the hurt was evident it made him look away. He felt ashamed, it was his fault that they were reliving that dreadful event in their lives.
Master Kynwric spoke again hammering home the point. "There can never be a conflict in my duty and my love, because my duty demands that I protect her from all things, including herself and my love for her demands that I do the same... even if it would cost me the things I hold most dear. Her." It was as if he had been standing in a dark room not knowing where to go then suddenly having someone show him the light.
Then Loraine Sedai spoke in her usual tone though it was etched with a hint of sadness. She smiled at him though he could see the same hint of sadness in her eye. This time he didn't want to feel the emotions though he let them come. It made him want to cry.
Perivar looked from Loraine Sedai to Master Kynwric. Guilt ran through him that he was responsible for them reliving that moment. He did not think he could speak right then though he must. His voice when it came was scarcely more than a hoarse whisper. "I am sorry, I...I did not come here....I didn't know" He couldn't find the right words no matter how hard he tried. "I'm sorry though I appreciate you sharing it with me." He looked at Loraine Sedai "I pray you are right." He wondered again if he would be strong enough to endure.
Perivar stood to get up addresing them both as he spoke. "I apologize for taking up your time though I knew if anyone could help me it would be you. There was nowhere else I could go, no one else I knew who could possibility understand what I felt. It means a great deal to me, more than you could ever imagine that you have welcomed me and shared your past with me."
Perivar made the appropriate courtesies to them both though he paused halfway to the door. He turned to face Loraine Sedai, the helpless look on his face was as clear as crystal "May I ask one last question?" He waited for her nod of approval. "I..in the few months since she has been raised I have barely seen her except for when she meets me in the yards for her weapons training. When I ask her why she dodges my questions as if they were adders." He paused trying to find his words "I thought when she became an Aes Sedai that she would have more freedoms though it seems she has far less than when she was Accepted." It had been tearing him up inside, he thought he had done something to push her away yet he didn't know what he could have done to hurt her.

If anyone needs it at all it would be Melenis though I am not even sure that she needs it. I know she needed to finish a Req before we could go through with the TG ceremony though I don't know which class it was.
If Melenis doesn't need it then I wouldn't worry about finishing it unless someone really wants to complete it.

Sorry this doesn't count for spam, I am usually a top notch spammer.
Third- I'm too lazy to go back and quote this, but someone said that it would be a shame if this was a wasted thread. There is no such thing as a wasted thread- this thread is huge for character developement.
I said that kind of sort of. I said it was a shame to waste it in that it wasn't filling a Req. In the next sentence though I said that at least it was fun and good for character development.
Also, you have to realize that you all aren't even TG yet. Your raising is going to take a while, concidering it's a mass raising with tons of people.
I'm sorry but I don't understand your point. I have no idea what that has to do with anything. Technically Arath was not TG when we left either so what does that have to do with anything. We could have done our TG ceremony already though we are waiting so everyone can participate. That being said timelines are all messed up anyway, they are so twisted so who is to say where it falls in each characters training. Maybe I missed your point altogether.

Loraine Sedai's voice had a soothing effect on him. By simply hearing her voice it seemed as if everything would be alright. He had grown very fond of her. He remembered the inn again, the Badger and Lioness when he knelt next to the corpse of the Whitecloak that he had killed. Shame wracked his body, he sat there drinking it in. His wounds had seemed distant as his body shock with rage. He refused to form the bond wanting to let the emotions fuel him hoping it would overcome his shame yet it did not.
It was her motherly tone, her soothing words, her insistence that he had not failed her that washed his shame away. He didn't want to let it go but when he saw the tears in her eyes it had caused his own to well up. It had taken all of his resolve to hold back the tears. He had asked her to leave him be, he wanted to be alone to welcome back the misery he had felt yet she would hear none of it. She had taken care of him as if he were her own. He would never forget that.
Perivar soaked in her words thinking on all she had said. He thought her questions had been rhetorical so he held his tongue trying to think what his response would have been. He knew it in his heart though he did not voice it. He looked from her to Master Kynwric when she asked him the same question. Sitting there he knew he had come to the right place, if anyone could understand his situation it was them.
Perivar nodded as Master Kynwric spoke, it was exactly what he needed to hear. Light he would never have refused to serve her never that. He just needed to know that he could do it, balance both love and duty.
"I know that part of what we are trained to do is to accept and deal with whatever comes our way but I had not expected love. Of all things I had never expected that, there is no class that teaches you how to handle it. For something that is so wonderful it is odd that it can cause you so much pain." He wanted to wet his lips though he frowned at his glass remembering it was empty.
"It was much simpler when I only had one focus, now I have several. How do you juggle it all? I want to spend every waking moment with her though on the other hand I want to train harder than ever so that I am better prepared to protect and serve her. I feel like I am trapped between the two. If that is not enough I am worried sick when I am not with her wondering if she is alright. I can't wait to be bonded to her so I can at least know that she is well. I am hoping that it will at least be some relief, now I have nothing but memories of her when she is gone. She has been gone more often than not. I fill those hours with training and standing guard on the wall though my head is not in it. I need to get my thoughts straight but I don't know how." It felt good to talk about it though he hoped that their wisdom and counsel could help prepare him to right himself.

“How can you ignore the torrent swirling inside you? Truly you are a man with a great sense of duty and obligation to be able to push that aside.” Regardless of her smile the words stung, his life had been focused on duty and not it stung worse than any wound he could imagine. No matter that it was the truth that they had to return to their training it did not lessen the sting. He wanted nothing more than to be with her yet it would do no good to say so now. The truth was that he was his willpower was only holding by a thread. The torrent was threatening to tear him apart. No matter his choice of words she would think it forced.
“Tell me, does your sense of duty allow for a kiss before my lesson begins?” Light why did she toy with him so.
“I have decided that my sense of honor will not allow me to leave this spot until I have been kissed.” He wanted to more than kiss her, how could she taunt him so. It tugged on his heart like a heavy weight.
Closing her eyes she pursed her lips in a preemptory fashion and waited. Not opening her eyes she leaned up with a smile playing on her lips. “ I am serious Perivar. I will not listen to one word you say until I’ve had my kiss.”
The flood gates open giving in to the torrents of passion that coursed through his veins. Wrapping her up in his arms his lips met hers giving her an intense and passionate kiss as if the world was ending. Once again the impure thoughts ran through his mind, the thoughts of more than kiss. He struggled to push those aside losing himself in the embrace. Duty be damned...

True, I guess it would not be fair to others though it is a shame that so many threads are all for nothing. I was hoping to use the meeting between Perivar and Kabria as the "In the Town" req though I can't since he is a trainee in the thread not a TG. Same with the trip, ooh well, having fun is more important than WS though it is still a shame to waste good work :'(. I guess I'll just chalk them up as fun and character development.
I know this is tough on Eqwina, she is in a tough position as DL since what we do here affects the other divisions.
-
Well this is all null and void now though perhaps a consideration for the future.
Q makes a compelling point. Given the amount of time and effort invested in this collaborative endeavor it is essentially the equivalent of several smaller threads. As long as it satisfies the req what does it really matter if it counts for more than one. The way I look at it is akin to the bonus points that other divisions get for threads such as this. If it satisfies everyone we can set a limit at 2 reqs per person as long as it satisfies the req and the DL approves it first?

I loved Lor's post in response to Perivar's fight. I left Perivar's post open ended so it could have been anyone who approached him though it seemed perfect that it was Loraine. I loved her response to Perivar and the insight into her past. It was amazing!
I was so nervous when I posted that it would be misunderstood, that it would seem grandiouse though it was actually quite the opposite. It was merely character development for Perivar who if you can't tell is having some issues at the moment, kind of showing he is human after all. If he ever knew that he missed Loraine's attempt to get his attention when she was near the window or when she saw Anluan approaching and wondered where he wase would have made him suicidal. He felt guilty enough that he hadn't reached her in time. I remember reading that and I got that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Anyway it was an excellent post and I have his response boring a hole in my head though I want to give everyone else a chance to post first.

At this point Perivar is sparring Arath and Melenis is sparing Jasine. Perivar and Jasine were taught one set of forms. Arath and Melenis were taught another set.
Arath and Melenis learned: The Boar Rushes Down The Mountain, The Creeper Embraces the Oak, The Falling Leaf, and The Heron Spreads its Wings
Jasine and Perivar learned: The River Undercuts the Bank, The Swallow Takes Flight, The Swallow Rides the Air, Tower of Morning

Perivar hung on Kabria's every word. Once again though the Tower laughed at him as her words sunk in. Kindred Spirits, sharing a passion to serve the Light, to battle the Shadow. It was not that but the fact that his love was a bonus, again the reminder that their love would be second. When they first spoke of it it had sounded right though now he was unsure. He had to get his mind off it for now.
He thought on her first question. "I believe we will be in his charge though I am not certain, things change around here all the time. I cannot even say who is actually going or what we are doing."
"My dearest Kabria, I would love nothing more than to sit here like this enjoying each other's company for the rest of our lives though if we don't complete our training then we will never be together. We cannot accomplish our goals if we remain as an Accepted and a Trainee." Somehow that all sounded wrong to him though he pushed the thoughts aside. Truly he wanted to sit there and learn everything about her though there would be time for that eventually.
"Do you have time to visit the Armory so we can discuss caring for your dagger?" It was as if the words were not his own. He knew they came from his mouth though it was not what he wanted to say to her. Duty before love he thought, light how that thought hurt him so.

Basically Corwin was going over the intermediate forms. They reviewed basic forms, sparred. They did more basic forms and switched sparring partners. Corwin taught a pair of them one set of forms and the other pair a different set. Then he switched them up and had them spar so each new four forms that their opponent didn't know. He wanted to throw them a challenge and gauge their ability to adjust to someone who knew something that they did not.
I think that basically sums it up.
Seeking Guidance - A Social Call (Attn: Loraine Sedai and Master Kynwric)
in Legacy Saga Archive
Perivar merely nodded at their answers, he had not really expected an answer though he had tried. If he had read them right then they knew but couldn't say. He was comforted by the fact that neither of them thought it odd that she was so busy. Well he was slightly comforted by the thought, the truth of the matter was that he missed her dearly.
When he reached the door Perivar turned bowing respectfully thanking them again for their time and counsel. He told them how much it meant to him that they were willing to help him. They had absolutely no obligation to him, it was simply from the kindness of their hearts.
He paused a moment outside their door looking this way and that. He was foolish to think that she would suddenly appear like in some fairy tale. As if she would suddenly fall all over him confessing her undying love for him while kissing him like there was no tomorrow. He was a fool, but he was a fool who was in love.
Perivar walked the halls of the Tower thinking on everything that Loraine Sedai and Master Kynwric had said. One thing in particular summed it up well "There can never be a conflict in my duty and my love, because my duty demands that I protect her from all things, including herself and my love for her demands that I do the same... even if it would cost me the things I hold most dear. Her."
Perivar vowed that tomorrow he would redouble his efforts with his training. One day he would serve as her Warder and he was going to be a prepared as he could possibly be. He would love and protect her as long as he lived. He would fight the Shadow as he was sworn to do though that would always come second to his love. He would forsake the world for her love. Right, wrong, or indifferent it would be so...
