Listening to 98 Rock out of Baltimore the other morning, the interviewed a group called Warp 11. These guys do songs inspired by Star Trek. As I know of at least one Trekkie in the Band, I thought I'd throw this out there for some laughs and such. Because some of our music discussion threads didn't copy over, I am restarting some of the threads again. Therefore, feel free to repost what you posted last time, or change it slightly. Ok...while I was looking at one of the threads on the Archers' boards on our off board site, it got me thinking about our favourite songs to hum and whistle along with when we hear them on the radio or CD player. So I was thinking, a lot of theme tunes become part of popular culture. Likewise, a lot of songs we know and love get adapted to the small screen. What are your favourites? Which ones do you hate? For me, one of my favourites is the "Sharpe" theme tune. Its called "Over The Hills and Far Away" and is an old English folk song which has been jazzed up a bit. Its just great for that series and its so jolly I can't help singing along. ;D

Everybody loves films. But the music that goes with the film tends to be forgotten behind the actors and actresses, the stunts, the cash the film rolls in. So let's discuss film music then! Any favourites? Anything you don't like? Any composers you like? Personally speaking, Gladiator is one of my favourite films for music. The music is stirring, and fits the film very well. And the fact I have the CD for the film's music twice (due to a special CD that released 5 years after the film with bonus tracks) shows this. What about you?

I'm only posting this after watching Maria's link to a song called on the White Tower board. Well, I thought I would continue this sort of thing here. So, what are music videos you love or hate? As I started to write this brief biography on David Bowie, I came upon a dilema. How do you write a brief anything about an artist who has spanned 4 decades, influenced countless musicians and at times rewrote the book on what music should be? Well, I haven't been able to answer that. This is probably my 5th rewrite, to condense all of the above ideas. My original bio would have been over 2 pages long! Everyone must have some sort of device to play their music. I'd be surprised if they didn't! So, what devices (like MP3 player, CD player, stereo or msuic system) do you have? I've recently purchased the 6th generation 80Mb Black iPod Video...and loving it! The only downside is the transfer of music, which is slow...but that is probably me and my old laptop! In my room in the house I rent in London, I have my CD player, which I got in the summer of 2003. It is a Sony, but I can't remember the model number now! I'll have a look and see if I can find it!
