I watch too much TV and right now I feel like I am starving show wise. Nurse Jackie just ended. Borgais actually got good. Really the only thing I watch is True Blood and SYTYCD. Fear not I tell myself, the summer has just began. Here are the shows coming up that I am most excited about. This Sunday - The Newsroom (HBO): You had me at Sorkin.... very much looking forward to this. July 15 - Breaking Bad (AMC): One of the BEST shows on TV. I can not wait for the last season to start. August 17 - Boss (Starz): I just rewatched season 1 last week and remember how brilliant this show was. If you haven't checked it out then you are missing out on a show th…

I went in to That's My Boy with a gun at my back, not litterally but my girlfriend has that effect. As everybody knows (including Sandler) he has been declining in the funny department. Jack and Jill was a abomination to mankind. I was seriously upset that somebody that could make something so great as Happy Gilmore would do that. Then there was Light. By that I mean That's My Boy. While not the greatest comedy ever, it was entertaining and engaging enough that I actually enjoyed it. The characters are lovable, including the cameos, and even, Adam Sandler as Donny Burger. The most unfantastic role was Andy Samberg as Todd or Han Solo burger. Samberg only shined a few mom…

anyone besides me keeping up? The Spurs demonstrated a level of basketball artistry that is rarely seen on the NBA level last night, at least for a bit more than half the game. I have to think they are the favorites to win it all, maybe even to push for beating the best playoff record of a champion.

I hope I'm not the only Broadway fanatic here. Did anyone else see the Tony Awards tonight? What did you think? I was happy to see Neil Patrick Harris doing so well as a host again. I hadn't known that the movie Once was made into a musical, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that. Hugh Jackman was adorable, as usual. Some of the revival numbers just didn't have the oomph of the original cast performance (Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar). It's too bad Patty LuPone and Mandy Patinkin didn't do much in the awards show, because I would have rather seen them in the Evita number than these new people (I just cannot see Ricky Martin as Che...).

If AMoL ends like the Mass Effect series, I will seriously lose faith in all forms of Fantasy/Sci-Fi media. Did anyone in this community finish Mass Effect 3 and felt betrayed? While I was playing it, I felt like I was eating the most delicious chocolate cake, only find that the last bite was a turd. It's almost like the future Mass Effect universe will be Avi's future of the Aiel. HORRIBLE.

Currently, I'm playing Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay. I just started it and it's a lot of fun so far. The fight mechanics are pretty good: you can block, punch, stab, break necks, and shoot. You are also able to riposte, but it is very hard, especially when an enemy has a better weapon than you, such as a knife to your bronze knuckles. When I faced a boss, it was impossible to riposte and after dying 6 times in a row and barely being able to get a hit on him, I got mad enough to just jam the attack button as quick as I could, and somehow I killed him quickly. THat disappointed me, it should be more about skill than impossibility. However, aside fr…

Alright, with a week to go until playoffs, the standings still aren't set. In the East, Florida(3), Washington(8) and Buffalo (9) are fighting for a spot. In the West, it's Los Angeles(3), Pheonix(7), San Joses(8), Dallas(9) and Colorado(10). http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=39245 All these teams have 2 games remaining in the season and 4 points are all that separate them from golfing and going to the playoffs. Also, Rangers and Canucks are fighting for top spot in the NHL, with both of them tied in points but Rangers having a tie breaker in more wins. Both teams have 2 games remaining as well and for Canucks to get the Presidents Trophy, the'll need…

Noone with even the slightest interest in sports can have missed that we are just a few months away from the 2012 summer olympics in London. But, as fun as the olympics is, it can always be better, right? So, lets brainstorm how they could improve the games. 1. Fencing. take away all that safety stuff, and have the bouts decided by first blood. 2. High jump & pole vault. replace the bar with barbed wire. 3. Archery. Living targets, preferably those who compete in Walk.

Netflix is obviously liking the publicity it is getting for resurrecting sitcom "Arrested Development" that it apparently has been looking into other cancelled shows of recent years to potentially revive on the streaming and disc service. TV Guide Magazine confirms that Netflix has approached CBS about reviving cult fave "Jericho" and the network is considering it. Repeats of the series remain popular on Netflix's on-demand service even four years after the show's cancellation. Launched in 2006, the original drama followed the residents of a small Kansas town in the wake of a nuclear attack. The show ran for two seasons. The big challenge is making the project financia…

  22. There'll be some interesting chess action starting from this thursday. The world champion's opponent for the WC match next year will be decided in a series of matches. Here is an article about it: http://chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=7195 Chess isn't the biggest sport for all, but I'll certainly be following this as well.

ABC announces its 2012-13 schedule on Tuesday, but it renewed a boatload of its series today. If there’s any slight surprise, it’s “Revenge,” which premiered last fall with a 3.3 in adults 18-49 but drifted as low as 2.1 during recent weeks before bouncing back to 2.2 this week. Renewed today: Modern Family Once Upon A Time Grey’s Anatomy Dancing With The Stars The Bachelor The Middle Suburgatory Revenge Castle Shark Tank Still on the bubble: Body of Proof Don’t Trust The Bitch Good Christian Bitches Happy Endings Last Man Standing Private Practice Missing The River Scandal Not returning: Chalie’s Angels Cougar Town (headed to TBS) Desperate Hous…

To talk about my personal history with the DARK SHADOWS source material seems slightly pointless even to me, but let me see if I can bring it around to the subject at hand, which is director Tim Burton's more comedic approach to the televised story of Barnabas Collins, a New England vampire protecting his family (more like his descendants) while fending off those who would do them harm. I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode, having watched the nightly reruns that aired in the city in which I grew up. It wasn't until years later that I understood that "Dark Shadows" was a soap opera shot live on tape, thus the reels of mistakes that humorously plagued the show. B…

  30. Joss Whedon, creator of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL, FIREFLY, DOLLHOUSE and DOCTOR HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG, has been recruited by Marvel to direct THE AVENGERS movie, slated for release in 2012. The film is the culmination of a long-term plan by Marvel, which is building up to this movie through several groundwork-laying films, such as IRON MAN, INCREDIBLE HULK, this year's IRON MAN 2, and next year's THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA. These movies are all linked by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) showing up at some point to recruit the hero for a new team he is putting together. THE AVENGERS will see the team going into action for the first time, teaming up the respecti…
