Seeing a lot of discussion of new and upcoming games, but what are some of your awesome all time favourite games that you can play and play and never get bored? I have a few. On the PC: Deus Ex - Amazingly immersive FPSRPG. I remember playing this on a 12 inch monitor back in the day until 3am morning after morning, sneaking around and just loving it. Such a good game, both story and gameplay, and the graphics were pretty advanced for its time too. Diablo 2 - Mindless gore-churning grind, and done better that anything released since. The atmospheric music, the graphical detail which still passes inspection today, and the frantic mouse-destroying combat comb…

  5. Anybody else watch this show? It reminds me of the Ocean movies in tv show format with less characters and only one well known actor. I've only seen the pilot, but it was very enjoyable (albeit a little long), I loved the characters (especially the Chris Tucker-esque black guy), and am looking forward to watching more. For those of you with Netflix, the first two seasons are currently on instant watch.

World records involving someone spending tons of cash on something ridiculous don’t come around nearly as frequently as I would like, and that’s why this latest world record news has me so damn happy. See, a guy named Buss “Erik” Lightyear recently set the record for the most expensive virtual item ever purchased when he threw down a whopping $330,000 for the Crystal Palace Space Station in the MMORPG Entropia Universe, Edge Online reports. Upon winning the auction, Lightyear posted on the game’s forum, "I was really hoping to win this auction. I believe Crystal Palace can be amazing since it won’t just be owned by some investor, but instead a very active, and very o…

My list is coming soon... but here is nice write up that I found funny... and spot on... It’s that time of year again folks. Just as everyone is finally pumping out their series of lists (to which I will of course add to the pile), there seems to be no end of additional “Worst of” lists to compliment the various “best of’s”. And every year I try to look away, knowing full well what they’ll do to me. A worst of list isn’t like a best of. “Best of” is a compliment. It is that grand exaltation, that final pat on the back that says “You made a great, noteworthy film that should be checked out by all.” A Worst of is a f*** you. It says “of all the films that came out this…

  15. Anybody else live in a Time Warner Cable area and will lose FOX if this deal doesn't get hashed out? FX goes as well I think. FOX I can get with rabbit ears, but FX will be a goner. Thankfully, the only show I watch religiously on FOX that I can't find on Hulu the next day is So You Think You Can Dance. And there are other means to getting that rather than paying for silly rabbit ears for one show. I won't be able to vote though. So that sucks.

  16. Did anyone see this? Awesomely funny homage/parody of Empire Strikes Back by the family guy crew. Had a pretty good chuckly I do say.

I missed the very first dividing into teams as I was just getting home and getting settled. But this is probably the first time episode one has been interesting in a long time. I hate Russel so much it makes my hair stand on end. But on the other hand he's definitely entertaining. I mean, right off the bat he's up to making a "dumb girl alliance" and concocting a Katrina survivor lie, which by the way his accent is pretty dead on, and burning peoples' socks, drinking the water out of everyone's canteens, and moving their stuff. He's a total Puck. And no I'm not trying to censor myself, I mean Puck from folklore/Shakespeare/Real World Miami. I feel bad for Maris…

Paramount pulled out all the stops for the Iron Man DVD launch this week with Jon Favreau sitting down with a major contingent of online press to talk about plans for the sequel and beyond. Amongst the facts gleaned: - Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard are all set to reprise their roles. - The "Demon in a Bottle" storyline, if included, will form the basis of the third film and not the immediate sequel. - Rhodey (Terrence Howard) may become 'War Machine' in the next one with the armor being developed for the character. - Iron Man's armor may also be updated for the next film. - There's hope to include IMAX 3D sequences in the sequ…
