Is it entertainment? is it a sport? In either case it fits well here in the 'Chan. For those who don't know (who could possibly NOT?) the World Series of Poker is underway, and since I doubt you all care as much as I do (which is to check on it daily, following it religiously) I'm going to give you an update on all the shenanigans and goings on... Without spoiling the main event, since I guess some of you might want to watch that on television and not have it ruined. Anyway before I get into it I'll first mention something else that's coming up that perhaps some of the 'Chan or...well, the rest of ya'll might want to get into. At Pokerstars.com, startin…

So, I'm walking to work from Penn Station today, and on my way through Herald Square, some guy with a press badge directs me to walk 5 feet out of my way because my gate of choice is closed. Now I don't like this - I've meticulously designed my walking route to be the most efficient way to get from Penn Station to 39th and Park, and that 5 foot digression means more effort for me. So, obviously, I look around to see what's got me detouring. What is it? A stage set for a new TV show - Dance Your Ass Off, where fat people have a dance competition to lose the most weight. Seriously. Which gets me thinking about what the pitch for this show must have been: …

Well I think this is great because this just means more movies I have to see. On the other hand I can't remember too many movies in the past years that needed to be nominated or had a real chance at winning.

Did anyone else watch the finale last night? Anyone else sorely disappointed by the producers promising to put Bones and Booth in bed, only to get.....that????? I don't know - weird episode. Reminded me of Buffy, almost, with the alternate universe. Like they did that one year where the season finale involved the 1st Slayer after the whole Adam story arc - didn't fit anywhere.

Quite possibly the coolest show on tv right now, definitely the coolest show on G4. Watching reruns is sick, even if you've seen them before, it never gets old. Just watched Akiyama win it all in Season 4. Makoto Nagano is still the coolest guy ever. New episodes start Sunday at 5:30 pm eastern time. I can't friggin wait!

Everyone has at least ONE movie they can quote verbatim. Some of us have more than others. 40 Year Old Virgin Lord of the Rings: Fellowship and return Clerks II and many many disney movies oh, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 What are yours?

Longtime "Star Trek" writer and latter-day "Battlestar Galactica" mastermind Ron Moore says his new sci-fi spaceship project “Virtuality” could still become a series, depending how it does among critics and its pilot’s performance in Fox’s June 26 edition of its Friday Night Death Slot. Below is 12 minutes from the show... http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid6555681001?bctid=26532412001

I love Top Chef. I'm happy to see a Masters version because it puts food with a charity competition. When these competitions are for charity, they are always more fun. Some of the guest chefs on Top Chef have been a bit jerky to the contestants, so I hope those chefs are on here. It would be great to see some pay back. One chef this week is from Fort Worth. I haven't been to his restaurant, as I've not really eaten in Fort Worth. I'm a Dallas girl so I usually stick close to home on the rare occasion I go out, but I've seen him featured in several places and I am really pulling for him. In the Quick Fire, Hubert was the only one who thought about making t…

LucasArts have, somewhat out of the blue, that they are releasing a specially-remade version of their 1990 classic adventure game, The Secret of Monkey Island, this summer. This will coincide with the release of a new, called Tales of Monkey Island, produced in conjunction with Telltale Games (producers of the recent Sam 'n' Max and Wallace & Gromit episodic games). The Secret of Monkey Island is one of the most influential games of all time, combining a ton of humour and inventive visuals with fiendish puzzles and excellently-realised characters. For 1990's standards, it looked amazing and was a huge hit. Its 1993 sequel, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, …

So, did anyone other than me catch this? Here's a little recap: http://www.gamerrazzi.com/2009/06/live-blogging-e3-project-natal-microsofts-shining-star/ The thing I want to bring up is the Natal project specifically, and what Peter Molyneux had done with it. This thing frightens me to no end, sure it could result in some amazing new and innovative games, but what I fear is that some people might become even more reclusive and shut in by a virtual person to talk and react to. Sure, the video he showed of Milo was probably some staged thing, but it still scares me a little : p

OKay, i know this show is basically dead, but I, in my genius, watched the pilot yesterday and thought it was kinda cool. I liked the contrast between David and the King and the King's Son. Liked the whole part with the Brother-in-Law basically having control (puppetmaster!). The themes of the rich/powerful making the decisions and the poor/non-powerful going to die for it was another good one.

I watched the entire first season and thought it was HILLLLLLARIOUS!!
