  1. Started by F Horn of Valere,

Scientists at Oregon State University have developed the first non-theoretical material that can actually bend light "the wrong way" rendering it invisible to one wavelength. Article Cloaking is still a long way off as the human eye uses more than one wavelength, and so far they only have enough material to make up 1/4 the width of a human hair, but it is a huge first step.

  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7118997.stm So far, the ps3 has been used by the military to launch missles, calculate the trajectory, and a bunch of other military related stuff. Used as a 'big brother' system, Saved a mans life. And now, hackers can use it for hacking yer 8 letter/number passwords in only hours! So far, the Wii, is just training potential super soldiers, the 360 is training jocks into smashing each others heads. And the PS3 is being put to do all the work that would blow up the other two systems plans for world domination... But the real question? Can the PS3 destroy google, when it attempts to take over the world? I know the Nintend…

  3. http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2007/11/29/mark-rein-on-open-systems-this-is-why-weve-made-the-game-for-the-ps3-first I've known about UT3 for awhile now. and while I'm ashamed as a PC gamer, to have never played the prior games, (and only briefly played the beta/demo). I knew that they were talking about 'modding' for the ps3 as possible. But I never actually expected it to be true. I mean, I was half expecting another 'oblivion' promise of user created mods on oblivion on the ps3. (Which Bethsada DID say would be possible, but lied out there asses /spit) Now sure, I could play the pc version and download/make mods that way. But Quite simply, I need …

Ok, so I went to a concert last night and my VCR screwed up, so I didn't get to record Survivor OR Gray's Anatomy. *sigh* So right now, while no one's in my office, I'm trying to watch these episodes. Except Both CBS and ABC's websites are making me crazy. Neither of them work! Every single episode for every show I've tried on ABC says it's advertisements aren't ready. And CBS just won't start at all. Are you guys catching episodes online somewhere else??

Every member of either Org posting in this thread must name a movie whose name is linked to the movie previously posted by at least one word! Example: The Princess Bride Bride of Frankenstein Of Mice and Men Please bold, italicize, underline, color or strike your movie so we can find it ;) Let's go! :D *throws a spear at... someone and shouts "AIEL!"* P.S. I love The English Patient ;) P.S.S. We'll be keeping the Fifth from this raid here

  9. I saw Beowulf tonight in theaters, "alas, not in the IMAX, didn't feel like waiting till 9pm to watch it!". For those that don't know, Beowulf is based on the epic poem? Beowulf, that just happens to be the oldest? fiction/fantasy story. Or at least, from that region. :P The general story of Beowulf, which most of you should have read in Highschool, inspired Tolkiens Lord of the Rings, and many of the connections between them are very aparent. As for the movie Beowulf, it is entirely shot in CG, the quality, in some parts, are VERY realistic. "but imo, FF7:AC, or FF:Spirits Within looked better. Even if I'm biased. :P" The graphics were pretty top notch, I me…

Ladies Night This season we're starting out with two nights of one over an hour dancing. Tonight the ladies dance. Tomorrow night the gentlemen dance. With a results show on Wednesday. Sadly, I'll miss the last few dancers as Heroes premieres tonight as well. Punks! Jennie & Derek: 90210 and the new guy. He's what, 19? Probably not. Watch him by my age, hahaha! Anywhoo, it's the cha cha for Jennie tonight. And it was SO CUTE!! It wasn't perfect and she needed to loosen up just a bit at the beginning. And she did. But it was very entertaining and cute and choreographed to showcase how cute she is. Only thing is I think I saw her make a fac…

Deadline Hollywood Daily, the single strongest blog so far for reports on the current writer's strike, reports that NBC and Universal have sent out force majeure letters to actors and crew of such TV series as "Battlestar Galactica," "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Bionic Woman" amongst others. The result is those shows have shut down production and many of those involved in those shows have had their contracts suspended which has understandably upset the Screen Actors Guild and the actors. One thesp working on 'Galactica' explains that "We are on suspension without pay. We are not terminated. We are on hold to BSG with no pay in perpetuity until the strike is ove…

  12. I figured I'd post info up about the PS3's own exclusive version of those games... Singstar. Yes! Your ever so favorite karoke based game for the Playstation 3! :P (god I hate Karaoke...) (Below, Ripped from Gamestop) Probably the only 'good' thing about this is, this is going to become sony's version of I-Tunes.

  13. I figured someone should get this started... thoughts? Personally i enjoyed it, but I didn't think it lived up. I really did like the new character, and i really loved the way that they showed the reasoning for Admiral Cain, but ultimately i just thought that is was anti-climatic. The relied too much on the whole Starbuck comment, and frankly given the end of last season it just wasn't a surprising or big enough moment for the end of a movie length screening. What did you guys think?

Ok avoiding spoilers only about 3 people in the whole movie get any character development and only 1 of those is really a main character. There are other main characters but they stay pretty much stagnant throughout the whole movie. It also has a really stupid ending that while I won't spoil doesn't fit the shown personality traits of any of the other characters. Really! I am a complete chicken when it comes to scary movies but I spent half of the movie laughing with some drunk guy next to me talking about how awesome the old lady is. Still, it has decent gore looking gore but theres really not to much of it, and there are certain plot elements of the movie and …

Final score Empy 114, Saldean 87 F Horn vs. Karana - Uh oh, Adrian Peterson could be out a few games. Does this spell disaster for Karana's playoff run? F Horn barely edges out Karana with a victory. Final: F Horn 98, Karana 96 Seggie vs. Hax - Poor Hax can't seem to win a game these days. Seggie wins in another close game this week. Final Seggie - 92, Hax - 83 Empy's Bro vs. Wooly - Only two players on JDs team scored less than 10 points. This spelled disaster for Wooly as he looses decidedly. …

I bought Assassin's Creed today as an early birthday gift for myself. I've been playing non-stop for hours now, and my eyes are seriously starting to hurt. This is a really fun game. Violent and bloody, but very fun. I love running at random people and jumping at them and then stabbing them in the throat with my knife. It's kinda like GTA gone medieval. The cities are huge and look great, and so far I've only been in a small part of Damascus and Acre. There's just so many things to do. The story is intriguing, you get to know about the twist that the developers have been talking about right away. Oh, and the graphics are really good too. I went and bought me an HDMI-cab…

It was recently confirmed, that Sony will be releasing the 40GB PS3 model in the United States on November 2nd, for only $399, and the 80GB model is getting a $100 price cut, making it $499.99. So expect Microsoft to announce a price cut within the next month. :P That said, the 80GB ps3 is exactly the same as the 60GB model, except it comes bundled with the game Motor Storm. The 40GB model however comes with only 2 USB ports, and lacks the other 'card readers' like the SD-SC card reader. It is also rumored/confirmed that it lacks backwards compatability (That being the Chip that they took out to reduce its cost.) However we still don't have any word or not if they …

Who else is excited about this game? I adored Guitar Hero 2, to the point where Marsh and I were sitting in Best Buy jamming on the demo game with scores of children watching and applauding. Ok, not scores. But a few. And a creepy smelly guy who stood way too close! Anyway, Marsh has asked for Rock Band for the PS2 for Christmas this year and I can't wait to get it! Sooo excited!

A Halo-loving juvenile delinquent is in trouble in Florida for smacking his mother, then fighting with police officers. The hilarious story began when the unnamed kid's mom was like, "Stop playing Halo 3!" When sonny refused to turn off the game, his parents said they took the "air card" out of his 360 so he couldn’t play anymore. (We don't know what an air card is either, but we want one.) He responded by laying a mêlée attack on moms, then locked himself in his room. His parents called the local constable. Entreaties to open the bedroom door were met with profanity, so the deputy boosted the door with a spare key. Unhappy at being disturbed by the 5-0, th…
