I can enjoy them just as someone else's vision of the world, not as a cinematic masterpiece. Rotten Tomatoes has given this a critic's score 77%, fresh:rotten score of 92:27 RT user's score is 88%, 225:28 The movie reviewed for those who haven't read the books:

So. Everyone watches TV to some lesser or greater extent. What episode of what show gave you the most unexpected sad moment while watching TV? For me it was the episode of Futurama where Fry found his dog. The little bit at the very end of the episode where it showed the dog waiting in front of the pizza shop for Fry for the rest of its life. I admit, I cried after that one.

This is sort of a general notice ... my brother Steven, aka Soy Boyo, invited me to join the Dragonmount Fantasy Football league. I accepted his generous offer, and so have registered my team, the Saldaean Farmgirls. Just thought you all would enjoy getting beaten by a bunch of Saldaean Farmgirls. ;D

(Ok, I doubt the following information is interesting for anybody who isn't Norwegian.) Told you so, Danya! NRK, (tv-channel funded by the government) is creating a new channel called NRK3. The channel will focus on airing quality dramas from HBO, like The Wire, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and many more. They're also working on securing the rights to air future HBO series. It has also bought the rights to air Heroes. I told you NRK would get Heroes, Danya. :D The best thing is, the channel is completely free and will be available to anyone, and will be free of commercials. So, yeah, not very interesting for most of you, but I'm super-stoked about this. *po…

Six hours of “Drive” were produced; four were aired. Word has it the final two episodes will turn up on fox.com sometime next week, so you might not to read the SPOILERS that follow here. “Drive” mastermind Tim Minear and cohort Craig Silverstein reveal -- to the website drivefans.com -- where the comedy-drama-thriller-action-adventure might have gone had Fox not cancelled it after three episodes. Some revelations: * Alex Tully’s wife, Kathryn (Amy Acker), was probably working with race organizers before she ever met Alex. * Eliza Dushku, who worked with Minear on “Angel,” might have been cast as a “Duel”-esque truck-driving sociopathic serial kil…

Somehow, I enjoy the show (perhaps all the pretty people and scenery), but everytime he speaks, I want to jab a fork in my eye. Or his. Either way, I wouldn't be listening to him anymore. http://www.throng.co.nz/csi-miami/horatio-cane-one-liners So, any characters that drive you up the wall??

From AICN: An army of online journalists recently converged on the Vancouver set of “Battlestar Galactica.” Media Blvd. covered the press event and came back with a couple of intriguing spoilers for the earliest episodes of the series’ fourth and final season, filming now. An excerpt: [Actor Aaron] Douglas revealed that the final 5 Cylons are in fact a different breed of Cylon than the human form versions that attacked the colonies. These 5 in fact are the original Cylon’s, are immortal, and are the Cylon Gods. Apparently, the repeating theme within the show, that all of this has happened before, and will happen again is going to be explored in the fina…

Yes, that is right.... in the tradition of recent Hollywood, it is time to remake any movie from the past that was a hit... Variety reports that Paramount is developing a musical remake of the 1984 film Footloose and will develop it for "High School Musical" star Zac Efron and director Kenny Ortega. Dylan Sellers will produce. Ortega is in talks to helm and choreograph, and Efron is in talks to play Ren McCormack, the rebellious newcomer (originally played by Kevin Bacon) in a town where dancing has been banned. The original was directed by Herb Ross and written by Dean Pitchford. The trade says the plan is to turn the project into a full-blown musical…

New Line Cinema is getting in bed with HBO on “Sex and the City.” After much foreplay, the feature version of the long-running HBO series is gearing for a fall start, with New Line near a deal to finance and distribute. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all set to reprise their roles, with longtime exec producer Michael Patrick King directing a script he wrote. King will produce with Parker, John Melfi and Darren Star, the latter of whom hatched the series, based on autobiographical columns written by Candace Bushnell. Fans of the show have clamored for a film version of “Sex and the City” since the series ended. …

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368909/ I've been wanting to see this movie for quite some time. I missed it when it was released her in the US and the boys got together to see it. Anyways, I bought it with my Birfday Best Buy Gift Card and I have to say that I was not disappointed. Well, actually, my tiny 19 inch TV screen disapointed me, but that's not the movie's fault. As a dancer, I find that I love watching Martial Arts movies because the movement, much like dance, is often beautifully done. The choreography of the Muay Thai style of fighting was no exception. There were many scenes in the movie that flat out astonished me with the Wow factor. The s…

Your signature is missing the first character, whether it is just a letter, or if it is the [ of the image tag, etc. Everyone's got transferred over that way, they don't know why. You can fix it with your Profile tab at the top. 2. The color scheme and layout of posts in threads will likely change, please be patient. 3. Some of the user groups are "wonky", please be patient. 4. Avatars are now forced to fit 80x80 pixels. This may cause shrinking or stretching, and may cause your avatar to be broken. So this weekend, Yveva and I recorded and watched two or three seasons of Ninja Warrior (seasons were like 3 hours). For those of you that are in the dark, let me explain how this show works. You get 100 people, about half are athletes, the other half are just set up to fail (think American Idol). There is a gauntlet that each competitor has to run through in order to make it to the next round in a certain time. It is much harder than it looks. So of the 100 at the start, the usually narrow the field down to between 7 and 15. The next start is all about strength, balance and skills. Again this one is timed and the obstacles are not too tough, but about half will…

Ok, you know it, it just doesn't feel like home without a thread like this. :D Willow: It's horrible! That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil and... skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay. Willow: He deserves a torturous and slow death by spider bites. Well, for today, we'll just have to throw spitballs at his neck in class. Spike: I'm not lurking. I'm standing about. It's a whole different vibe. Dawn: Like Tara. She and Willow are both witches. They do spells and stuff, which is so much cooler than slaying. I told Mom one time I wish they'd teach me some of the things they do together. And then she got really quiet and made me go upstairs. Huh, I guess…

  26. I love this series but am not sure how it will fair on the screen. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed an earlier IGN story that said Stephen King and J.J. Abrams are in talks to bring King's "Dark Tower" book series to the screen. They are not sure, however, if the project will be a feature film or a TV series. Abrams' Bad Robot production company has a first-look deal at Paramount for film projects and a deal with Warner Bros. Television for TV projects. The project is not yet set up at either company. The trade adds that King's tale -- which sprawls across seven books as it blends the fantasy, sci-fi, horror and Western genres -- might seem better suited f…

Does anyone else watch this...I love it. For those who haven't..it's about a cop who's in a car accident and ends up in a comma. Whilst there he's 'head' goes back and is a cop in the early 1970's. The style of Policing (the Sweeney style), the clothes, the music is all different. He has a purpose thought we don't know what and he has to fill it before he can go back to his own time. It is witting, amusing and quite horrifying as you see the police tactics of the day.
