According to the official Epic bulletin board, the next "title update" (that's what they call patches in Gears of War) for the game will include a new multiplayer gametype called Annex! The patch will fix a "bunch of glitches" too, as well as providing 720p for VGA users running at 1280x1024. But most of all, a new multiplayer game in Gears! There are no details at this time, but there will be next week.

Ever wanted to fly around in a Colonial Viper and blow up Cylons? Now you can do it. Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line is a total conversion of the legendary PC space shooter sim Freespace 2. The full game, which is still some months away, will not require Freespace 2 to run, and neither does the demo. The game has been in production now for roughly two years and has attracted a large amount of publicity. PC Gamer has been following development of the game for some time now. The PC Demo is now available for download. This link should lead you to the BTRL announcement where there are details on how to download the deno. The demo does not require a moder…

This has probably been posted before but I'm way to lazy to click search. One of the best movies I've seen. Ashtun Ketcher (I butchered the spelling), performance was amazing. He delivered a great sequel appearance from The Buttefly Effect (One). Great plot, but it might of been carried on a little wee bit (Too many possible spots for endings.)

Okay, you can access the trailer here . It takes bloody ages to buffer on a 2MB connection, but it's worth it. Stream of consciousness post whilst viewing trailer: Liberty City again! Looks like the present. Possibly even the same/similar city layout (maybe they include the suburbs off the islands to make the game bigger?). The lighting is impressive. The movement of the cars is very realistic. Character models impressive, although we're not exactly in Crysis facial-animation territory here. Nice suspension effect on the cars. Ah, the old suspended railway. Up-close, the building textures look amazing. Holy. Moses. The Statue of Liberty! The Ch…

Does it seem like Hollywood is full of Sequels and remakes these days? Here are a few more rumors... According to Dark Horizons, a "Teen Wolf" remake might be getting underway up in Canada. Apparently "Smallville" resident Tom Welling is up for the lead role. And according to JoBlo, it looks like a brand-new "Supergirl" movie might be in the offing. Rumor indicates that Tricia Helfer from "Battlestar Galactica" might be in line for the lead role. Anyone interested in either of these movies?

Some people hate em and some people like em... what do you think? Recently I have been posting more and more spoilers for Lost and BSG but hiding them in white. Is this ok with you guys or is this too much of temptation? Do you like spoilers or do not care for them?

Sooooooo in the beginning, there was Flavour of Love. Followed by Flavour of Love 2, then I Love New York... Where can they go from here? wait for it... Flavour of Love Girls: Charm School. Way to extend your fifteen (sometimes even less) minutes of fame *cough* "Ladies"! Gotta say, the trainwreck factor alone is enough to get me to want to watch.

“Battlestar Galactica” mastermind Ron Moore is talking, and he’s answering a lot of questions the fans are asking after Sunday night’s third-season finale. In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Rob Owen, Moore reveals that, yes, Galen Tyrol, Saul Tigh, Sam Anders and Tory Foster are indeed four of the “final five” Cylons. But Moore also cautions that they are “fundamentally different Cylons.” I'll say! Bill Adama and a lot of others in the colonial fleet witnessed Saul Tigh serving in Cylon War I 40 years ago. He may have even been around before the “invention” of the toaster centurions! Which begs the question, “What are Cylons”? The opening of t…

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0494222/ (this review's on IMDB's user comments as well I just figured I'd go ahead and copy it here) I saw this movie last night for the AFI Dallas Film Festival. I bought the ticket for this one on a whim and boy am I glad I did. I was expecting something quirky silly as the only New Zealand/Australian films I'm really familiar with are Muriel's Wedding and Strictly Ballroom. What I saw was a very cute film about two geeky people trying to find happiness and meaning in their life through love. It's very easy to be sympathetic towards Lilly, not only is she funny as an awkward person, but she's actually very sweet and quite beautif…

Geeze another weekend of movies I do not care that much to see. 300 was number 1 at the box office last weekend but does it have the staying power to knock off 6 new releases? No worries, Uncle Empy will give you the low down on the top 3 movies coming out. TMNT (Warner Bros.) Starring the voices of Patrick Stewart, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chris Evans, Ziyi Zhang, Kevin Smith Tagline: "Raising Shell in 2007" Plot Summary: After defeating their arch-nemesis Shredder, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles--Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael--have drifted apart, but their mentor Master Splinter needs to pull them together to face a new threat to humanity,…

Oh, you Frenchies! With your UFOs and your Jerry Lewis film festivals. What will you do next? How about completely reject the PlayStation 3? That's the sad word from the land of the striped shirt and beret, where cowardly cheese-eaters just wouldn't man up and cause crowd chaos around the launch of the PlayStation 3 at the Eiffel tower and the Champs-Elysées. When asked, most French electronic stores confirmed the day before launch that, even without a reservation, anybody could come and get a console. French retailer Fnac held the official event for the night launch. At the Champs-Elysées Fnac store, where the launch event started Thursday at noon with PS3 p…

Hey, if you're such an expert on videogames (and, judging by our comments section, you are all experts) put your fake money where your fake mouth is and check out the simExchange. The site allows users to trade videogames and consoles like they were stocks. It costs nothing, and it might be kind of fun. So let's have it, Sony fans: Build an ultimate PS3 portfolio and shut up all those Wii60 creeps. And Microsoft-heads, put together your stocks to crush all competitors. http://www.thesimexchange.com/#SlideFrame_2 It is not quite as put together as www.hsx.com

Project runway - unexpected, snazzy, awesome. Top Chef - Slower moving, harder for the audience to identify winners because we can't really sample the final product then along comes.... Top Design. The format is a little overdone with two prior shows setting the tone. I think it could gather a bigger following than top chef though as it's way easier to form opinions about the final products. but as if that wasn't enough, now there's one about wait for it Haircuts? yup.

... you knew whether or not Robin Antin was really a man?? She's creepy. BUT, I am enjoying The Search for the Next Doll (UPN, Tuesdays at 9pm), despite the constant curiousity about Robin's strangely masculine jawline and neck. The girls are generally pretty talented, and there isn't the really disgusting sniping between contestants that I've seen on other reality shows. Anyone else watching this? Comments??
