Isn't that the dude from Doctor Who? NBC has announced that Christopher Eccleston will appear in multiple episodes of their hit show, Heroes. Eccleston will play an invisible man named Claude. The name is a throwback to the 1933 classic sci fi film, The Invisible Man, who's star was named Claude Rains. Some great quotes from Sci Fi Wire: "So far, he's been in four, and then we're trying to work out his dates with his movie that he's doing," said creator and executive producer Tim Kring. "We'd like to have him come and play with us for a while." "His character acts as a sort of mentor for Milo's character, Peter, who's having trouble controlling al…

You heard it here first.... HBO has acquired the rights to turn George R.R. Martin's bestselling fantasy series "A Song of Fire and Ice" into a dramatic series to be written and executive produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, reports Variety. "Fire" is the first TV project for Benioff (Troy) and Weiss (Halo) and will shoot in Europe or New Zealand. Benioff and Weiss will write every episode of each season together save one, which the author (a former TV writer) will script. The series will begin with the 1996 first book, "A Game of Thrones," and the intention is for each novel (they average 1,000 pages each) to fuel a season's worth of episodes. Martin has ne…

A thought just wafted through my mind... Do you get excited about TV series' based on novels? Does "knowing how it ends" spoil your enjoyment? Case in point, over christmas break I watched the first season of Dexter, and LOVED it. I came home to read what I thought was the first Dexter novel and was totally in to it, only to discover that it was actually the second Dexter novel. I loved the second novel, but now I'm just not as pumped to read the first one, I know there are differences, but the major plot twist that it took a while to find out, and the dramatic irony is a little bit lost, it's not as tense. How do you guys feel about TV adaptations of novels i…

Well at least the producers have an end date in mind. More shows should do this before a show gets tired and wears out it's welcome. Makers of the hit drama "Lost" say they're talking with ABC executives about setting an end date for the series, according to The Associated Press. There's no sense the finale is coming anytime soon. But knowing they have a deadline will help writers of the convoluted drama lay out how they want the story to end, producers said Sunday in a meeting with TV critics in Pasadena, California. "Once we figure out when that will be, a lot of the questions will go away," said Carlton Cuse, an executive producer. "Lost" is in its third …

So, I have seen the trailer for this upcoming film, which I have no interest in seeing, but found myself intrigued by the "True Story" of a serial killer that has killed over 300 people. I did my research and found ............. ........wait for it............ the serial killer is a crocodile. Animals can not be serial killers!!! The movie just got stupider in my eyes.

So Emp and I took in dinner and a movie last Friday, and he movie we picked was Pan's. I actually really enjoyed it. The characters were archetypes, and therefore a little on the flat side, but they were all there to serve the greater story. How to put this (braindead monday), basically many movies tell the story of a character's journey and changes, this movie tells a larger story and the characters are each facets of the larger story. The effects were good and didn't distract from the story (in some movies the effects are jarring and push me out of the story instead of drawing me in). I also very much enjoyed the acting, the little girl did an excellent job. …

Ok, I can list plenty of movies that let me down, but I am wondering what movies (to you) were a good surprise? You went in to it with low or average expectations, and then found out it was superwaygood... Or you didn't really know what you were getting in to and it blew you away? I'd say both the first Matrix and the first Pirates of the Carribean were movies I wasn't intending to watch in the theater, and I thought they were going to be uninteresting/not to my taste, and both were WAY better than expected (of course, sequels fail to life up to it, but whatever) How about you?

I am a fan of musicals and theatre but I am not sure about bringing this one to the big screen. I think they are trying to force a great musical onto the big screen which rarely works. Look at The Producers, great musical, bad on the big screen. Anyway here is the news: Theater director Phyllida Lloyd is in negotiations to make her feature directorial debut on Mamma Mia!, an adaptation of the popular ABBA musical, created by Judy Craymer and Catherine Johnson, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The musical adaptation will be produced by Universal Pictures and Tom Hanks' production company Playtone. Lloyd directed the stage version of the musical in London and Ne…

Just wanted to make a topic about this and hear if anyone else is registered. I bet some of you know of Last.fm, but I'll explain it anyways. Last.fm is a website meant to introduce people to new music, kinda like Pandora. To get started you register an account at the site, and download the last.fm-player. The player will record everything you listen to in Winamp or iTunes etc and send it to their database. Last.fm will then give you music recommendations based on what you've been listening to the past week. It's quite neat. You also get charts showing your top artists and tracks, which is kinda nice. You can also listen to the Last.fm radio, which is a cool fea…

That's right horror films... there is another Jason film on the way. But wait kiddies, it gets better. This is not a sequel, it is not a prequel... it is a remake of the original film that spawned such great material as Jason IN SPACE. I just.... can't... wait.... According to JoBlo.com, Platinum Dunes is working on a script for a remake of the horror classic Friday the 13th. "Well, we're working on a script right now," said Platinum Dunes' Andrew Form. "Not in the first two quarters for that movie; maybe at the end of next year. But right now we're just working on a screenplay."

First off, did you like it? Was it better than the first? I thought it was pretty good, but find I enjoyed the first one better. I thought they tried to put to much action in every scene.

Nip Tuck Season 4 - An elderly woman named James taking organs from people, the Mcnamara's cheat on each... again, Kimber and Matt married....yaaawwn.. the only saving grace was the return of Escobar. I thought this season was a bore and hope the move to Hollywood revitalizes the show. Superman Returns - Superman has a kid with Lois Lane? WTF! I really did not enjoy this movie and felt the plot could have been a little better. Everyone knows that Lois Lane could not give birth to superman's baby! The Good Sheppard - Such Oscar hype, such promise.... and I was let down. The movie was slow moving and too long and really did not make me care about the characters…
