So I came across this page which I thought I should show you all. I just bought a bunch of board games for my Humanities classes. Just some basic ones that I can use as centers once or twice a week. I got them Scrabble and Up Words to practice spelling. Apples to Apples to practice vocabulary, and Settlers of Cataan because it teaches resource management. God, I'm so boring. =) Anyways, I absolutely LOVE Settlers. It's my favoritest board game ever right now. I still have it at home, actually, because me and my husband want to play it every night before I let the students lose all the pieces. Do you have any favorite board games?

I'm sure some of you must have watched Project Runway, and possibly also Top Chef... now Bravo's coming out with a new one, "Top Design" about interior decorating... I'm going to host a discussion of the new show on the Seanchan board if any of you all would like to stop by!

You have probably noticed some threads migrated to the Great Hall tonight. That board is our designated "business" board, for announcements, comings and goings and the like. Lately I've been seeing more of those things posted here, where it doesn't belong. No worries, no one's in trouble. It wasn't clear where things should go before. I put a label on the Great Hall and I moved some of the misplaced threads. Thanks.

There are three active meets being planned on the DM Meets board right now. We're currently planning a summer Euromeet for those of you in that area and a long weekend in Las Vegas in April. I'll be at the Vegas meet, along with my husband. There is also a So Cal meet being planned by Leanne Sedai. It looks like its becoming an annual tradition here, so if you're in the area, you should look into it.

How did everyone ring in the New Year? We threw a party at our house. We had Esteban, Ender and Emmie with us, along with a few others. (We tried to get Empy and Yveva, but they selfishly decided to NOT do a 12-14 hour drive) Ender spilled red wine on our carpet, but you can barely see it. We played board games and almost forgot to turn on Dick Clark in time to see the ball drop. We almost finished off that giant jug of Jamieson that Nyna left us in September.

In the wishlist thread a lot of people mentioned wanting cards/letters from their fellow DMers. So Kath figured we could do a Tower-wide card exchange. Note, this will be a REAL LIFE address exchange, so if you're under a certain age (18, I think, but don't quote me on that) then you need your parents' permission to give out your address. I'm a little early, but I just thought I'd let you all know that I'm going to be out of commission from Saturday (December 23) through Wednesday (December 27). I'm going to be scare over the next few days for obvious reasons, but before I disappeared, I just wanted to wish the entire White Tower a Very Merry Christmas and inform you that you all still have two shopping days left in which to buy me something nice and expensive :D In the meantime see you Wednesday, when hopefully I shall have PotC 2 in my possession and shall therefore be very happy. *snuggles*

Most of y'all haven't heard my tale, but it's unfortunately a common one. Long story short - Jiffy Lube screwed up, causing them to replace my engine. I'm incredibly lucky that they accepted fault and paid for the trouble. Guess what? The engine they found for me - who knows where and why it was available - is screwy in and of itself. My car has 93k miles, the engine they got for me was 66k miles. Since it was returned to me (2300 miles ago) I've not only burned off the 5quarts put in it by the dealership when the engine was replaced, but an additional 4 quarts. :( So today I drove to the dealership to see if this is bad, which it is. So, I've been back for a few days now. Been mostly checking the WT Org, since that is where 90% of my time previously was spent (yes, even when I was Ogier Community Leader). But, it seems so.... empty. Is most everything in private ajah forums or offsite boards now? (Yes I joined the WT usergroup and can see the Ajah forums - but are there more than one per ajah?) And where are the policies? Like, as a returned member what all should one do and how long is too long or how does one take back up...
