I've recently been playing around with a compass and laying out some potential wood carvings. I can't stop from seeing the potential for a Great Serpent ring carving. Will share more if/when things progress.

So you may see things related to what's been revealed in the wot tv series on here, we are keeping to consepts introduced there to make it relevant for those who haven't read the books. So if you are not up to date about them, and don't want to risk any potential spoilers then don't continue. So this year pic you favorite character from the festival season, or make a character from your favorite item. And draw it with the prompt.. So snowman, Santa, elves, candy cane, log, sun, moon, lantern, whatever fit with the tradition of how you celebrate the season - pick your character to take on a journey through different situations or rolles in t…

I'll be posting my daily attempts at 50k in this thread, which includes what I'm actually working on. Index Beoar: These animals resemble a Bear with boar tusks and a snout. They average 350 pounds, and stand 4 feet to the shoulder, and 5’-6” when standing on two legs. Boaconda: Resemble a winged snake. Boaconda;'s have been known to reach lengths of around fourteen feet, a girth of four and a half feet, and a twenty five foot wingspan. Bon-Bun: It’s basically a very round rabbit, shaped like a bonbon with ears, and beady little red eyes. Cort: A large 600 pound tortoise commonly found grazing grasslands in packs ca…

As the title states I'm not an artist. I used to dabble in drawing when I was young but since what I did was replicating the art of others freehand to distract myself from school work it couldn't really be considered art. I do really appreciate art to the point that I volunteered for JordanCon's Artshow and been staff there for years. This year was my first year as a co-manager of the artshow and I must say I got to experience a whole new side to interacting with the talented artists that attended it was really interesting. I definitely enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to doing it again next year. So lets talk about art and artists who we look up to. I …

Ok since we all got somewhat hectic lives i am figuring a monthly event may be a bit of a far streach at the time (of course if anyone want to do that go ahead and start it, we love to see art and its what this board is for). But how about an extended summer (or winter for those in different hemisphere) one 100 thing event? May through august, pic a theme and make 100 drawings on that theme, like the events idea say it can be anything, boats, planes, trains, aliens, flowers, dogs...free choice of medium etc, make it easy want to sketch one day do that, want to paint another then do that, photomanip a tird day go for it - you get the drift. …

Ok we covered a bit of what people do...but as i dog into things i realize there are levels to stuff quality wise and to which level your on So let's discuss brands I got two types of fineliners staedtler which i used for years for adult coloring books...and arteza which i got last year to start trying out inking. Maybe it's cause their old and used but in general for me the arteza was a big step up as far as getting solid colors that's easier to work with...the shade selection help too...though i got them just before they started color coding the pens so if you mess then up like I did in begining figuring out what's what is a nightmare…
