Traveling was always one of those things that you were glad to be home when you got home. This past Friday my eldest went to the doctor with an ear infection, given antibiotics and then she went down hill from there. A fever started getting higher and she was getting more lethargic as the weekend progressed. Sunday I called the Pediatrian on call and we took her in to see him at the hospital so he could take a look. And there we stayed. He didn't like the sound of her cough so he wanted to do some tests and observer her. She was diagnosed with Mycrolasma pneumonia, or in layman's terms "Walking Pneumonia". We came home yesterday afternoon, but I'm still on watch preschooler mode with her so I don't go into more Mommy panics like I was all weekend long…

So, I had a couple questions about the website, but can't do the PM thing right now, so I'll ask them out here in public! Regarding the One Power Scores list, how often does it get updated? I was wanting to compare Elin with the other new novices, as well as the established characters, but the newer characters aren't on the list yet. Speaking of the One Power Scores list, several of the characters have +x in their scores. Is there a way to get a stats boost? (I see a chart of people who have received Bonus Skill points, but nothing saying how to go about getting them.) A few of the characters on the Scores list have asterisks by their names. Why? Elin sat in the Library, sighing to herself. She had been in the Tower for More than seven years now, and it felt like home. Today, she was studying for her own benefit. In theory, she should be studying the Old Tongue and its meanings in relation to philosophy, and she did have that book at the desk with her. But it was a simple text that defined terms and concepts she already knew. When she had first come to the Tower, her education was woefully behind that of her peers, so she forced herself to learn quickly by picking some of the most difficult texts she could find to read on her own time. While this is not something that needs to be done immediately or even anytime in the very near future, but Kate would like to join the Black Ajah, she is already a Darkfriend, so there is no real need to turn her or anything, but I think making contact with someone in the Black ajah in her Accepted years is needed, so that someone can always be watching her and seeing if she really is a Darkfriend or Black Ajah material. She had been assigned to kitchen duties, which meant she would be scrubbing the pans that had so recently held the delicious cobblers that had been served as a treat for the novices and accepted.
