Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by Nadine,

Hi everybody, I am new first this very morning . I like this site and yours ideas. I've discovered WOT since five years and i've read it four times. For us in France it's a little difficult because the transation has stopped at the end fo LOC, so i've read the others books in English from that and i enjoyed that much i bought the beginning in the original version too. Please, be indulgent with my English if i make mistake and i do .

  2. Started by Skowsa,

Greetings and salutations. I don't know why it took me so long to stumble into this little corner of Randland heaven, but I am here now. Thankfully. I am relatively new to Robert Jordan's amazing world having just started reading a little under a year ago. A friend suggested the books to me while I was recovering from knee surgery. I started with "New Spring" and have been hooked ever since. I rate these books right up there with Tolkien's amazing visions and that is the greatest compliment I can pay any books. There is just something magical about the phrase: "The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to m…

  3. Started by Daruya,

Although I've been visiting DM for quite awhile, I only registered last week and got activated this week. I can't tell you how many times I've read the series because I don't know! I do have a bad habit of skimming as I read so every time I read a book over, I find something I missed before. My favorite characters (no stones, please!) are: Egwene, Amys, and Mat. Actually, I have several other favorites but am too tired to try to list them now so although this is a very short intro, it'll stay that way for now so I can get some sleep. :)

  6. Started by Tasslehoff,

Hi guys! 27 year old WoT fan living in Oslo, Norway signing in :-) I'm a huge WoT fan (surprise suprise). I started out with reading the first 10 books. Then I bought 11, but when I started to read it I found out that I had forgotten a lot of threads. Then I listened to the first 10 audio books, before I started reading 11. Finished that 3 hours ago, and now I finally dare browsing the web for WoT info without fear of spoilers :-) As a result of my fear of spoilers I didn't learn about RJs condition until today. It really hurt to read that, but it's good to see that he is fighting it and in a good mood. Aside from RJ, I am a big fan of Stephen King, and I …

  7. Hey everybody! I've been reading on this site for a very long time and just made my first post a few days ago. The attraction of a certain Verin Sedai thread was to great to resist. *Reads Stickies* Unique name...check Ask questions...hmmm, are we pretty sure that 12 will be the last book? Ask questions...check Type properly...semi-check Maybe I'll be popular around here. (note the mild use of smiley) -See ya on the boards!

  8. Started by Static,

Just a quick hello to all here at Dragonmount. (Bows formally to mods in effort to ingratiate self shamelessly) Basically the short version of my story is I love the WoT books, and after finding Dragonmount thought "What the hey?" like minded people (Or people who like minds... Yum) And decided to join up and shoot the breeze. (Pulls out Desert Eagle) So, yeah... TAKE THAT BREEZE! BLAM BLAM! Oh yeah, and... Hi to all

  9. Started by siderespector,

I've been here for a while, not presented myself. Honestly I prefer to be the unremarked shadowy figure dropping a comment at the corners here and there. Just now I'm trying to motivate myself why I'm sitting here blathering lot's'a gibberish... Presentation is a very good idea - like an advanced "Hello!" - but I honestly hope you forget what I told about myself really, so that I may continue slinking and sneaking around stealthily unhindered. Say that's the social counterpart of the Grey Man! [O SANCTA PRINCIPIA ORDO n·lon(n) SALVATRIX NOSTRA IGNORANTIAE.] CU: rursus siderespector

  10. Started by Wolfwalker,

Hi! Just thought I'd introduce myself and say I think this is an awesome site. I love reading other people's take on what's happened in the books and what might happen. The only person I know I can talk to about this stuff is my boyfriend (who got me into this series). It's great to hear different opinions. I live in Colorado witha whole houseful of animals. I coach ice skating and am a substitute school teacher. I've read and re-read the series several times, and am currently re-reading KOD again.

More like returning from a long hiatus. Not sure if anybody remembers me really, but I am back (mainly on discussion boards only). I used to do a lot over on the RP side. Also, I'm using a new name. I used to be known as CollinAlReyan. Just saying hey to anybody that remembers me.

  15. Started by liatildina,

Hi from the left coast. I have really enjoyed prowling around in here. Thanks for DM, I just found it after reading RJ for the last fifteen years. Finally I found other Wheel people, what a relief. So now I guess I'll just read Wheel again and keep sending good thoughts out for RJ.

Hello everybody This forum looks huge so maybe you can give me some directions. I just bought and read the last books of the wheel of time cycle and re-read the previous ones. 1. I understand that R. Jordan has some pretty serious desease (I am sorry for him), but on a more selfish note. a.When is the next book expected? b.Has he taken care that the cycle will be finised even if he is not able? 2. Just some remarks on the books, I enjoy them greatly but some still some comments. a. What is with the spanking obsesion (always woman)? b. If forsaken can travel why use way-gates to transport trols? c. Why not use the making of candular on armour? d. The …

  18. Started by RedHandedJill,

Hello, all. I'm a little nervous, because I think I've posted on a board like this exactly once. So! I really hope I can contribute something interesting. And I'd like to add my gratitude to everyone else's for RJ's continued determination and positive attitude. If anyone's fighting the good fight, it's him!

  19. Started by OzzieAlThor,

I was part of the forums a while back when we were all waiting for Crossroads of Twilight and NBC was toying with the idea of making Eye of the World a miniseries (done by the folks who did "Merlin" even). So no one will remember be, but that's okay. I'll be around for a while now that I'm caught up again. I remember picking up CoT about 6 or 7 months ago at a local thrift store (3 bucks for the Hardcover in perfect condition. Weird, huh?). I read the Prologue and was totally lost. I didn't remember anything that had been happening (as I also had taken to skimming over some of the overly-long descriptions and such in books 7, 8 and 9). So about 2 months ag…

  26. Started by joyz,

hey ppl, after listening to the 4th age podcast for a few episodes i thought i'd better follow the boards too and while doing that just wanted to say hi :) its great to see such an established community for wot .. its sad that i just met wot in february (read all the books tho :p). i didn't have the chance to discuss most of the storyline, so i probably don't know about the theories that are confirmed/widely accepted/refuted. please send a pm if you see me contradicting one in an argument with a link preferrably ;)
