Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by OlwenaSedai,

Hello! I first read the series when I was around 12, but all the books weren't out yet. The last I read, as far as I remember, was Winter's Heart - which is where I'm at now with my re-read. I have never actually finished the series, so I am a bit excited about it. Not finding the middle books boring either, as a lot of other people do - the Bowl of winds book, for example, is considered boring but I breezed through it and wanted more! So much happened in that one, not seeing the boring part in it. Anyways - I am new here, and hoping to become more active. I don't really know anyone else who've read the series whom I can discuss stuff with, so this site is perfect (al…

I really did not enjoy the first book the first read through, however, all of the foreshadowing and precharacter development is awesome each time I read it again. However, I started to question the direction and intentions of some of the main characters and wonder which is the forum to bring up my thoughts, suspicions, and conspiracy.

It's been almost 5 years since I was last on Dragonmount, just thought I'd say hey to everyone and say I've missed this place.

Hey all of you WoT fans...I think I read the first book in 2009 and have been obsessed every since...for once, there is a series where the magical system isn't vaguely mapped out. All of the characters have definite strengths and weaknesses that are recognized by all. The characters are all flawed, by aren't we all? They are heroes, but only because they know that they are the last hope... they do what they do not just because they can but because they know they HAVE to

Some spoilers below for the whole series I was supposed to write this post up before even starting AMoL but I couldn't stop reading after finishing ToM and the pages turned them self. This weekend I found myself in the longest chapter of all time and I just couldn't stop. And when I finished I realized it was almost already over. I have avoided this community to avoid spoilers, but now, I want to say hi! Hi, my name is Luxiom and I'm a Wheel of Time fan. This might be a rather pointless selfpost but I just wanted to share the experience in some way. I started reading WoT when I was in 8th grade (I think) at the age of 14, translated to Swedish. I was kin…

Hi! I'm a 16 year old gal who loves every aspect of the Wheel of Time. I'm currently reading A Path of Daggers right now! My favourite character is Nynaeve by far, considering her and I are so much alike both in looks and personality...but don't let that discourage you from talking to me because I think I am quite a bit nicer than her hahah anyways I was wondering who everybody else's favourite character is from this series and why:)

Hello! I'm new here, which is pretty obvious. :) My username is supposed to be pronounced "hi cat-sea." I wanted it to just be Catc ("cat-sea"), but someone claimed that name a long time ago after only posting once. :( Anyway, feel free to call me Catc! I'm currently reading The Shadow Rising and I'm about to 2/3 through it. This is my first time going through the series and I love it! A few things about myself: I got my degree in Fine Arts. I like to paint, draw, and fold origami. I play the piano. I love to play video games. Halloween is the greatest holiday. I've lived in 3 different states in the past 2 and a half years. I enjoy baking delicious trea…

So...long time fan here, brand new to this site. The last time I re-read the whole series was in the months leading up to the last book's release date...I timed everything so I'd finish just in time for it to come out. Now that the series is finished, I'm re-reading the whole thing again, and finding it's a different experience, knowing where everything is going, and although I've always loved the series, I actually have a much greater appreciation for Jordan's craftsmanship...character development, world building...there's depth there that I overlooked the first few times I read the initial books. Anyway, re-reading the series now and really curious about what's coming u…

  14. Started by Eskander,

Despite being new to this community, I've been a long time enthusiast of the series, having first started my journey in 2005 while attending university. I wish I could thank the girl working as a cashier at the diner in my dormitory for recommending it! I never thought a story like this could have such a profound and lasting impact on my life -but it did. Like a favorite song or any other piece of art that, after spending so much time with it, becomes a part of your heart . Since this is an introduction I'll start by saying that I like long walks on the beach at sunset ...well, maybe long walks on the craggy hard dirt that has ankle twisting rocks of happiness jutt…

Hello all! I am Cory, but you can call me Lepht. I recently started reading WoT and I love it thus far. I am currently on The Dragon Reborn and it's really picking up. I look forward to browsing these forums as I read in order to fully understand the content, without being spoiled (hopefully). Does this forum have a chapter synopsis section? I have been reading chapter summaries as I go on a website called Tar Valon Library. Looking forward to the rest of this series. Thanks guys!

Hey there folks, I honestly doubt anyone remembers me cause I've been away for pretty much a decade. I was reminiscing on the past and started really thinking about how much fun I used to have on the old whitetowerdiv.org site back in the day. Used to have a character called Salinavia Tverdofsky as my main as well as a few smaller support characters. Anywho, hello to everyone and I hope you all have a great day! :)

Nice to meet all of you. I am fairly new to the Wheel of Time series. I just started book 5 (Fires of Heaven), and I have loved the entire series so far. I look forward to gaining new insight from all of you guys. As my first post, I would like to ask who is your favorite character or which book is your favorite? Try not to spoil anything though! 23. I had only heard of the wheel of time 6 months ago when i started to get back into reading again. Found some recommendations on Reddit and decided to start reading the wheel of time. I have just finished the series, listening to the audio books in around 3 months and what a journey it was. Joining the site so I can read peoples opinions on the story, characters and theories. Dan

  26. Started by wumbo,

Greetings friends! I read the first two books way back when I was a wee little lad, but in the past year or so I've picked the series up again and it's pretty much the best thing ever. I'm on book six, and while some (ungratefuls) like to complain about the length, I'm personally not too excited about only having nine books of stories left to read in this amazing universe. I expect it'll be nice to be among like-minded individuals such as yourselves.

Hola! I'm Ironeyes, although I frequently go by Marsh. If you don't get that I have some books for you to read... I was an active participant in the forums around four years ago, but I dropped out in favor of hard classes at school, then spent two years on a mission for my church. Now I'm back, hoping some of my friends still remember me. Online I am mostly into the Black Tower and mafia. IRL I'm starting as a freshman at Boston University next month.

Hello everyone I started reading WOT in 1997 being already a big fantasy fan and it has kept me company ever since. When I started there were paperbacks editions of the first 6 books and my first hardcover was ACOS. Now, including the encyclopedia, I have more hardcovers than paperbacks. Long time reader here in the dragonmount forum, I finally decided to join this great community. What prompt me to join is, being also an amateur composer, I recently finished my Wot-inspired symphony which I wanted to share with you here the dragonmount community.I guess The Band of the Red Hand section is where to post such things, right? So hello everyone again, so glad to post…

  29. Started by Cambry Varner,

After years of a friend encouraging me to read the Wheel of Time series, I broke down and got Eye of the World and finished it a few days ago. I'm certainly taken with the characters and want to see where their journey takes them over the course of the next 13 books. Whew! I expect I'll be done with this in possibly two years or so. Anyway, I just started Wheel of Time Book 2, the Great Hunt and I plan to each all of the books over time. I'm glad to join a community of fantasy fans for what looks like to be a great series.

Hello! I'm new to the site. I'm glad I've got a place to chat about the wheel of time. I live in a small town with no book store. Haha so it's good to find community. I have read through book 4 so far. I love the books so far but I'm a little confused on the story, so I'm thinking of starting over.
