Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by WolfbrotherKronos,

Hi, I've been reading WoT for a bit. I really enjoy them and thought I would check this out. Currently in Path of Daggers.

  2. Started by nathabj,

Hi there, names nathabj, and I'm crazy about the wheel of time. Been reading them for about 10 years, working on 3rd or 4th reread right now. I used to follow theoryland alot, but I am fairly new at dragonmount. Although, I think in the last few months I have read most of the topics in the forums. Excited to be a part of discussion and excited about AMOL!

  3. Started by George.Fields,

I just joined the forums and look forward to discussing WoT with everyone. Several years ago I read books 1-4 and about half of book 5 before letting life get in the way of my reading time. Recently, I've decided to make time to read. I've read 'Eye of the World' and 'New Spring'. I'll begin 'The Great Hunt' very soon.

  4. I love the wheel of time series, lol obvious since i am here!

  5. Started by GinoGuy,

I've been following this site for a while now, keeping up with news, so I thought I'd step in and say hello. I'm in my third read of the wheel of time, and maybe I'll be able to pitch in on a couple subjects. I'm GinoGuy, one who follows the toss of the dice and howls with the wolves.

  6. Started by _CLOUD,

Hello everyone! My name is CLOUD and I'm a Human Technology student in the Netherlands. I've started reading the Wheel of Time series several years ago and have since then taken a liking in fantasy books. I'm a big fan of art and music in general and have recently decided to productively start drawing and writing again. I was checking out Dragonmount for quite some time now because of the fun and informative posts regarding the upcoming books, and have now decided to become a member of this wonderful community! :)

  7. Started by Brian706,

Ive been doing a re-read, which lead me to this site while googling stuff I forgot. Loved the series and hope to be involved with the forums here.

Hello everyone, I just started my first read through of WoT a couple of months ago. I am currently making my way through Lord of Chaos . I have never really been an avid reader but in the last couple of years I have found myself reading more and more. I am really excited to keep making my way through the series and discover what this community has to offer.

Greetings to you all, I was in Eason's (a larger bookshop) in Dublin, Ireland in the mid '90's buying a Raymond E Feist book when the girl on the checkout handed me a small blue book and said it was free to anyone buying a fantasy genre book. I said thank you and popped it into my bag. I started reading 'Magician' by Feist and left the little blue book on the shelf. It was weeks later that I found myself one night bookless and sleepless, casting an eye over the bookshelf for something to read I saw the little blue book and picked it up.... The next morning I got a bus into the city and went back to Easons and bought 'The eye of the world' as I had finished 'Th…

Hello :) I'm Myf (Lupusdeusest at the Dusty Wheel) and I have never posted here in the forums. I've commented and have uploaded images to the gallery, having lurked for, oh, since high school (>6y), but I have never ventured into the forums, save by direct link by Terez or Luckers. I'm an Australian fan. I'm mostly posting now to, well, advertise Zombie Sammael's bike ride for charity - he is riding from Land's End to John O'Groats in the UK, one end of the country to the other. He has a sponsoring page here at http://www.justgiving.com/Russell-Dady/ . He just completed Day Two a few hours ago. -squeaks and runs out- So much social. So much noise!

  11. Started by Poet,

Hello, Dragonmount! I've known about the existence of this place, as I've been a fan of WoT fan for a long time, but have never thoroughly checked it out. My rising anticipation of AMOL has had me engrossed in Randland. If you've felt like you were in T'A'R with eyes watching you, have no fear, it was just me lurking the forums! So, I figured I'd step into the Light and join with everyone as we wait for TG to begin on 1.8.13. As this is an intro thread, I guess I'll tell a little about myself in regards to WoT. I picked up EOTW at 13 (I'm 23) and have been hooked ever since. Out of the original group of characters from the Two Rivers, my favorites are Egew…

  12. Hello all! Reader since the beginning (1990), and I suspect like most here, the WoT is the series I re-read, rehashed, and analyzed the most by far. I suspect that if I spent 1/10th the time in college on assigned literature instead of The Shadow Rising, my undergrad grades would have been higher. I am an old lurker (and rare poster) to the ol' WOTmaina site, but have been away from the oline community for A LONG time, but the final reread led me to look for answers online, and DragonMount sucked me in...

Hello to all u wheel of time fans!! Im a new member, but I've been to DM site before. Started reading a couple of pages from "The Great Hunt" and I asked my buddy(cause it was his book) who was the author of this terrific book. That was in 1997 and I've been hooked ever since.

I've been a fan of the series since I was 11. The books were a little above my reading level when i started, but I loved the story and characters so much I just kept reading. My first re-read (when I was a little older) was like reading it for the first time. And now, years later, I picked up the series again and started where I left off in the Path of Daggers. I've been flying through the books again and am now through to The Dragon Reborn. My favorite characters are Rand, Mat, Perrin (of course), along with Lan, LTT(love the madness), Egwene, Hurin, Thom and Loial. Can't wait to see how it all ends up in aMoL, and to finally look at my complete WoT collection o…

Ah, now this is fun. Fan communities are always fun. People from all walks of life united by their love of a single thing. Is there anything more beautiful? Anywho, I'm Allspice. I'm still a far ways from caught up with the series (I'm on book 4 now) but what I've seen so far is really interesting and I think I can confidently call myself a fan for the time being. However, I'm a fan of many things, but I've always had a hard time finding something that I don't complain about. In fact, I don't think I ever have. Loads of things about this series annoy the hell outta me. But the fact that I moan shows that I care enough about the story's world to continue reading i…

For those whp wher ein Atlanta this weekend I marched in the parade and a number of other panels and events. Hello all! I'm Susie. I've met several of you at JordanCon 4 and this past DragonCon. I was the pregnant one at both events. I'm relatively new to the series, having started reading it in approximately 2007, but not finishing my first read until just before and then including Towers of Midnight. I'm now in the middle of my first re-read, in book 4. Looking forward to further entrenching myself in the books through this community. :)

... Dragonmount!! Originally joined in highschool, back around 2000ish. Have since navigated some crossroads and climbed a few mountains, returning to the 'mount after a mega Hiatus. Awesome to see Dragonmount in it's current state, testament to the metal of Dragonmounts Administration and members. True to Jordan-Fan form, have been reading and re-reading the WOT Archives over the last decade or so. I am currently tearing through a Winters Heart for the fourth time in anticipation for the grand Finale'. See you around, you'll find me in the training yard running though sword forms :) May you all find water & shade. James

Hey everyone I thought I had an account on here, but they say no, so I started a new one. So hello. The other thing I got going on is that I'm doing a re-read of WOT in prep for AMOL. Being a tech nerd as well as book nerd. I felt I need to create a program. So using google docs, I created three charts on a page. The first, green, chart lists all the books in the series, how many pages and chapters each book has, and the total number of pages and chapters for the series. The second, blue, chart lists the books again and shows how many pages I've read of each book and how many I have left to go before I get to the last book. I added a third, salmon, chart that list…

Hey everyone! I've been a bit of a creeper on this site for a while so I decided it was about time I put on my grown up pants and actually contribute. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and generally feeling like less of a lurker

Hello everyone. Joined so i can find like-minded people who share my GREAT taste for books ^^ I have been reading fantasy for aslong as i can remember, when i was younger i read Readwall by Brian Jacquesand, Tolkien and Raymond E Fiests books. At the age of ten my mom got me the swedish translation of The eye of the world and i was stuck. Unfortunately the swedish edition consisted in 20 books wich spanned to somewhere in the middle of the 9th or the 10th english book. So i was furious when i found out that they wouldnt translate the rest and when i tried to read the english book my english was too poor so i gave up reading, almost completely since i was so into the sto…

  28. Well, I've been a fantasy nerd since as long as I can remember, was introduced to The Wheel of Time about a decade ago, and I don't really have anyone to talk to about fantasy novels... So here I am on this messageboard.
