Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by Edsel,

Hi all, Well after years of reading the books, I'm finally joining the community. I started reading the books after a friend from a Disney board got tired of hearing me whine that I couldn't find anything to compare to Tolkien, and so she hooked me on the series that her boyfriend was reading. I think the series was up to about 3 or 4 books by then. Within a year, I was desperately waiting for each new book in the series. I'm not as bad (good?) as some here, but I've read each book at least two or three times. My favorite thing about the books is the character development. I've always felt that Tolkien was a genius at creating and detailing a world, and Jo…

Hi, I am a teen reader of the WoT series. This is the first time I've been involved in a WoT community, and I look forward to what happens. I also have a couple questions. One, is it possible to be a member of multiple social groups? And secondly, is there a way to change your display name? I had just signed up when I realized it wasn't very WoT-ish. Thanks!

  3. Started by Janie Green,

Just finished book 9 and started book 10. Yes, I have read the whole series but am rereading in order to get everything straight. Faavourite characters have to be Mat blood and ashes Cauthon and Perrin Goldeneyes.

Hello all, I'm not good at these things and I'm not good at making long posts. I'm Rosa. I fell in love with the WOT series when I was in University. My brothers were obsessed with the books before me. I tend not to be able to sit and read without doing something so I got the audio books. They are surprisingly good. Even though the man and the woman both pronounce names differently. Go figure. My favorite character is Mat, hands down. While teaching in Korea I had the chance to give my friend an English name. He was always pulling pranks and didnt take anything seriously so I named him Mat. I'm currently waiting for the next book to come out and while I'm waiting I'…

Hello. My name is Addison, and I thought I would come by and join the craziness here on the eve of the last battle. I created this account a while back, but never introduced myself or really got involved. I've rectified one part of that now. :)

Hello, I'm not sure if i count, really. I was a regular on the forums until about 2 years ago, when BS began writing, and then because I didnt want to read any spoilers before I'd read the books and also, I couldnt remember a lot of what had gone before in terms of minutiae of detail, I stopped coming on. I've now 'caught up' as it were, and have started reading the books again from the beginning, for the 5th time. So I may be around, although I need to refresh my memory of people and places before I can comment on too many posts as i've been away too long! Sarah

What's up DM... I'm new. I am here to play some mafia and find out more about Wheel of Time, but mostly to play mafia. :)

What is your favorite cultural saying or colloquialism from WoT? Examples: "May you find shade and water," "The wheel weaves as the wheel wills," "Duty is heavy as a mountain, death is light as a feather," "Blood and ashes!" Remember, we're looking for sayings that many people in the WoT world would know, not just quotes from random characters.

Hey and hello - greetings from Germany! So how do I begin... Well, I'm not new to Dragonmount - I'm one of the silent readers who enjoy reading but are to shy to start writing. Okay, hopefully that's about to change, but hey, it's not that easy to make a start! Some info about me: I'm 27, living in Germany and studying English and German (someday - hopefully in the nearest future - I'll be a teacher). English is not my native language, but German is - therefore I have to apologize for any mistakes I might make. I'll try my best, I promise! I've been a WoT-fan for several years now and now matter how often I re-read the books, they just keep getting bet…

Hello everyone!! An ex girlfriend of mine was always re-reading WOT books and they were her favorite things in the world...and now I see why! I just started "The Eye Of The World" a few days ago and I can't put it down. I listen to the audio book at work and pick up the book when I get home. It is clear to see I am in for quite the adventure :) So thanks for welcoming me into this exceptional world! May the Light be with you:D

Hi, wheelers! Since I started reading WOT seven or eight years ago, I've enjoyed exchanging opinions about wonderful world of RJ with other people. Maybe it would be better to say emotions rather than opinions. During long intervals between WOT books, I used to read everything that I could find on the internet about the series. Finally, I made up my mind to join up the Dragonmount and I am very excited about it. I hope we will have a good time!

Well to start with i'll say hi to all you people, i'm not usually one to post in forums but you need to start somewhere right. A little information, i'm a 21 year old male from good ole canada, i started reading Robert Jordan's books years ago and loved them, and over the years the interest hasn't died, reread them several times and am in the middle of the series yet again. not sure what caused me to go online and start looking for the music to dance with jak o the shadows on youtube but i couldn't find a good version (maybe there is one but i never found it)so i started looking for the music that it's supposed to be sung to and i ended up on this website and it lo…

Hey guys, I'm new here. Obviously I am here because I love the books. But better yet, I joined because I have an idea that could be an incredible way to carry on the great legacy that Robert Jordan had left us with. I feel it is my burden to tell you that I believe that a video game, set in the world of "The Wheel of Time" would be an incredible thing. Not just any game and not one that follows the story line already written, but an open, free and online multiplayer world. Not Lord of The Rings Online or World of Warcraft, but a different type entirely. I would like to explain my idea and the way the system would work to all of you but I believe it to be an …

I have been a Novice here in the past, also a naughty novice at TV, MoN and head of the Brown Ajah at ToL, Amyrlin at TTU and a few other WoT personalities. It has been a rough couple of years for me in the real world. I'm back on my feet and eager to reconnect with all my WoT friends! I'm ready to start over as a Novice here. When I left a year or so ago I was a Novice in House Sanche. I hope I can get a mentor to show me around. I'm eager to get back into the WoT world! Please smack me …

I've lurked on here and WoT for quite some time. I came to the series in an odd sort of way..... I was just getting into Geocaching several years ago. I had an item to stick in a cache, but the box was too small. I had to remove a t-shirt and a book to fit it in there. That book was The Eye of the World. Whoever stuck the book in there has infected my mind. I can honestly say I was never a reader of books until I got that one. I was hooked. I bought every book in the series and had to wait in pain for Knife of Dreams to be released.... and then could not buy it in any local store once released. ( i didnt preorder ) As luck would have it... the book found me a coup…

Ok, so I am new here, but I have been an avid WOT fan for over twenty years. Recently, I have been a victim of a house fire, and now I need some help. I had purchased through the years every book from eye of the world through towers of midnight as First Print and First Editions. I am now typing lists of my most precious things that were lost in the fire, and I need an estimate of the cost for replacing these books. I can never put a price on how much these books mean to me, and though I can replace them with newer editions, the first editions are now lost to me. I appreciate any advice you can give. If you know where I can get a replacement value for my books, pl…

Hi, soooo WOT has now grown into my favourite series of books... Stephen Kings Dark Tower was close but the sheer depth of character and history of the huge world Jordan created surpasses anything that I have previously read.I think Brian Sanderson has done a brilliant job with the last two books and am looking forward to the final book so much but will be pretty sad when it's finished. I'm happy that Rand is going back to back to being a nice guy again at the end and I'm wondering if it was ever Jordans intention to have an unhappy ending... For Rand to go crazy and break the cycle... Any way... Hello ha ha

I wanted to join Dragonmount (or Theoryland, sorry if you're rival sites and there is a taboo against mentioning that name), for a while now, but I wanted to finish ToM first. I finally finished it yesterday, so the epic journey I started in January will have to be postponed for the eight-month wait to AMoL. Just so you know, I'm from Canada and my favourite book that's not part of the AMoL trilogy (because that's really awesome but I'm sure everyone has massively varying opinions on the ones Jordan wrote himself) is The Fires Of Heaven.

After 17 years of having picked the first books of WoT it seems that the end might be close. I am mexican, 43 years old and I have never really gotten into chatting with anybody about WoT, mainly because people in Mexico barely read anything of fantasy, it is considered as childish.

Hi I began reading the wot series when I was 12 years old. I had just read the shortened version of the Eye of the world. I skipped to the next book in the series and didn't realize I had missed half of the first book till many years later. So I have been reading this series for 16 years. I am now 28 and am rereading them from the beginning. These books are so complex with so many characters that it is almost like reading them for the first time. I have been saving the last couple of books to read after I have read all the rest again. I have rekindled my love for this world. I introduced my boyfriend to them so he is on his journey for the first time. I am sad th…

Hello! I guess you could say I am a novice in this community, but as I can only grow from this point there's nowhere else I'd rather be. In other words hello!

  27. Hello! I am Amaria. I like to consider myself a Member of the Green Ajah, with tendencies of a Brown. Which means I am a very determined, somewhat courageous, often preoccupied in thought, and I have a very healthy interest in Men. (Especially the Mat Cauthon cheekily arrogant type! He is the Bad Boy of the Ta'veren!)

I was lurging here for some time (about two years) then I finally decided to register. I started to read the WOT back then in 1998 and I used to read it in Czech translation but the publushing somehow ceased and from then till now I read it in English...BTW the comparation was quite interesting... So I look forward to all the WOT stuff and our rich discussions :) May you find shade...

Hey everybody! Great to meet all of you, eh! Did I mention I'm Canadian, eh? Ha ha, no. I don't actually say "eh", despite being Canadian. Nor do I live in an igloo, ride polar bears to school, or hunt seals with spears in my spare time. Would be something if it were true, though.... Anyway, hello! I'm new to Dragonmount, and the Wheel of Time books in general (I only started reading them about three months ago). I love the series, and although I'm only on the Fires of Heaven, I'm really excited to see where the rest of the books will take me. Its been a wild, life-changing journey on Lord of the Rings proportions (the only other series to have effected me on this…
