Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by Miseo,

Hello to everyone out there, I have been looking through this site over the past couple weeks, and I thought I was about time I said hello. My name is Tony, I heard about the WoT several years back from a few sources but never for one reason or another picked it up. Well before going on my honeymoon this past August, I finally decided to download a audio book copy of EotW to listen to while laying on the beach drinking my umbrella drinks. Well I was instantly hooked, and am proud to say that I have just this week finished ToM, and of course desperately waiting for the release of Memory of Light. I listened to the whole series in audio book form and loved every second…

  2. Started by Chief Snake,

Hello everyone and my name is Rand. I was born in '94 and can you guess where my name came from? That's right, my mother and father were huge fans of the wheel of time books so they of course named me after the man who would go mad. So now I decided I'd read about... me. I started the series about 2 weeks ago and I'm now on the 5th book. The series is absolutely gripping. I'll admit there's a few slow parts, but I can put those out of my mind for the exciting adventures I get to read. My father owns the series up to book 12 (1 and 2 in paperback, 3-12 in hardback) so I have plenty to read :D 3/4 of the way through the book (I think while they were passing through the …

  3. Started by paladin22,

Greetings, I began reading the books back a year or so ago when I found a few books in the high school library, and have never found any series even close to being better. I felt that after looking on at this site for some time, I'd better register and try to contribute. I am somewhat unusual, but I usually manage to get what I'm trying to say understood, and with near-perfect spelling and infrequent typos. And solid blocks of text.

Just what it says. I'm new and just wanted to introduce myself. Been reading (and re-reading) the series since it first came out. As an old Sci-Fi/Fantasy reader I love the books. Well written and riveting. That's about it for now.

  5. Started by Stableboy of Baerlon,

Hey, ya'll, I'm Alex, but you can call me Stableboy, SoB, Baer, whatever :) I've been reading the Wheel of Time for Ages now, ever since my mother introduced it to me, and I can't really estimate how the characters and RJ's writing and style are intertwined with my life. I'm on my Nth complete reread, eager to get a handle on the breadth of the whole series up to and including Towers of Midnight and in anticipation of the release of AMoL next year, and well--it made me want to get into the community! I've lurked a bit without foisting my presence (I am but a humble stall-mucker, after all), but you are all so cool and warm and welcoming I'm finally taking the plunge. I…

Yo people. I'm a new user, the most recent one I guess. I'm a 15 yr old kid with an avid interest in books. I have read the ENTIRE(all those released) WoT series thrice already and I'm reading them again. But, I never seem to tire of them most probably due to the AMAZING way they are written!!! GO TEAM JORDAN!!!

  8. Started by PNWBlue,

Hi all, I'm a big WoT fan. I was introduced to it 4 years ago and I re-read the series at least once a year. I also enjoy reading B.Sanderson's other books. Nice to be here.

  9. Started by Always Sunny,

Hello, forum people! I'm happy to be here. Want to know a little about me? First, I'm new to fantasy. I've never read Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter or Twilight or anything, really. Not even a D&D novel. I'm a non-fiction kinda reader, just so you know. But one boring day I started playing my roommate's Dragon Age: Origins video game. It was pretty fun. My roomie said that if I like that then I'd love the Wheel of Time. So I was loaned an old paperback copy of The Eye of the World and was told that I'd better get to reading if I wanted to finish before the next book came out. I thought that meant "Book 2" but it really meant "Book 14." Yikes. …

Hello Dragonmount members, I'm so happy I found you! I never thought I'll find an active WoT community. I started to read WoT series 3 weeks ago, I think I don't have to say it became my favourite after the first book. Currently I'm reading Dragon reborn, as I realized the real drama starts here, poor Rand... Btw I'm a hungarian girl (sorry for my shortcoming english. :)) and I never heard anything about Robert Jordan or WoT until this year's January. The funny thing is a romanian girl -called herself Lanfear, so she is a bad girl hehe- advised this serie who I spoke in LOTR Online MMORPG. She said it's a must read book serie and yes I have to agree with her it r…

Hey everyone! Just introducing myself as a new member of Dragonmount. I just recently discovered the wheel of time while looking at a poll on the internet for top fantasy novels to help me choose my next. With great luck I discovered a HUGE series that I am very addicted to already! I am on the 3rd book right now, The Dragon Reborn, and got a long ways to go! Is there a part of the forum i can find a discussion for the book im on? Or like some kind of reread thread for it? Thanks!

  15. Started by Pinkbookdragon,

Greetings all! I wanted to introduce myself, my nickname is Pink, or Pinky, and I have been listening to the Wheel of Time series off and on, on audio for about three years now, (since I married my own version of Perrin--minus the beard ). I would have gone much faster in listening to them, but I am finishing my Bachelor's Degree in literature which required, needless to say, a lot of reading . I just finished Book 7: A Crown of Swords, and I am so into the series! A little bit about me: I am currently living in Okinawa, Japan, but will be moving back to the states by the end of this summer, but not sure where yet. I am from San Diego, and I call that home sweet home, an…

Hi folks, I happened upon your community while searching for information on the upcoming WoT movie. As a huge WoT fan, I figured that I should sign up. Let me tell you something about myself. I've been a fantasy fan since I was given a David Eddings book back in 1992 Soon after I was reading R.A. Salvator and, of course, Tolkien. It was in '94 that I was first given a copy of The Eye of the World. After that I was a fanatic. I quickly read through the series (or what was available at the time) and have waited patiently for each new book to be released. I was greatly saddened by the passing of Robert Jordan (may he rest in peace) but I have been impress…

Hi everyone! I've recently started re-reading my WoT books.. I forgot just how much I loved them the first time around. Unfortunately being a Doctor time is so limited that I can't get through all the books (like I want to!) and get back up to speed as soon as I'd like.. but I figured being part of such a great community as this would be fab! : ) Noushk1e x

OK, So I am totally hitting a blank on this forum. I just wanted to know what the heck there is to do here. I really like and want the idea of community for WoT fans. Now that I found it I want to know how to connect in here. Five me a run down on some stuff please. Ok so I can join like the black tower, warders, aes sedai, wolf kin, and etc. But what does that mean? what do I do in there with them? Just throw me some ideas to get me connected here. <3 and hugs, Jarviee

Hello I'm fairly new to the Wheel of Time, but I just finished ToM the other day and now I figured I wanted to come here. I'm not as diehard a fan as many, of course, but I found myself continually intrigued as I kept reading Books 1-13. When it comes to sci-fi/fantasy, I suppose my true love will always be Star Wars, but in the last few years I've become more of a fantasy reader. IMeMin

Hey, all you crazy WOT people (I consider myself lucky to count myself among your number). Don't know why it took me this long to get involved in the community - I've been reading the series since the early 90's. I guess I just got back into it reading the most recent 3 books. I was so TIRED after Crossroads of Twilight. It was a good book, but I just didn't have the momentum I once had - and didn't even start TGS until right before ToM came out. But I'm back and I think the last 3 (why did it take me so long to read KoD? It was awesome!) were pretty darn incredible. Super sad about RJ/JR passing - but great work being done by Brandon.

Not much to tell really. Married, father of 2 beautiful girls and other than that a general slacker (except in the kitchen!)I've read most of the books but I am waiting to take the last 3 at one go. Other than that I pretty much just go with it. It's the only way I still have any sanity.
