Introduce Yourself

If you're new to Dragonmount, stop in and introduce yourself!

  1. Started by myth87,

Been a huge WoT fan for awhile but only now getting around to joining on here. Just wanting to say hello

  2. Started by Chezz,

Hi everyone... I've read the whole series once (started in 2008) and currently in my reread (at TGH now) I've been following DM for quite a while now, although I haven't been to the forums much. Here's my first post in the forums, and I'll probably be coming here more often in the future!

Hello everyone! I am very new to posting on fan sites but I must confess to engaging in some light voyerism in the past by viewing existing posts! I think I will like this much better.

  4. Started by Keiling,

So...... Hi folks! I've been lurking around these parts for several years. Everytime a new book has come out, I've thought to myself I should really register. Well, finally, I actually have. I got into the Wheel of Time about 10 years ago. Fell in love with it pretty much right away... and I actually enjoy reading these days because of this story. So hopefully I can actually contribute to the community now, instead of just snickering to myself at some other people's crazy theories ... And of course, cheer on my favourite forsaken.

  5. Started by settheory,

So about five or six years ago I was a forum member but I have since disappeared and forgotten my username. With the impending release of Towers of Midnight I finally decided that it was time to come back. So I'm back. Hi.

[/co lor] Hello everyone, Wanted to say hello. I've been a member and had this user name for quite some time now, since before the forums were done in this fashion. If any of the administrators has access to the information, I'd actually like to know how long I have been a member. I'm an old chick, be 65 in January. Read TEOTW many years ago. I think it was in 1990. My husband and son are both fans and we are all waiting anxiously for the next book.

Greetings everyone! I'm new to the site but have read the books at least a dozen times back to front. To say that i'm eagerly awaiting the new novel is an understatement. I just wanted to say hello, and ask one question of everyone. What do you think the likely hood would be that "Robert Jordan", Brandon Sanderson, and the folks that run Dragonmount might get together at the end of the series and make a new "World of Robert Jordan" book with all the new information and characters? Thanks for any and all comments. I know this site is great about having some influence/behind the scenes connections. Erelvar

Hello people, just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been reading WoT for longer than I can believe at this point, and I've lurked around this site on and off for a long time, too; I just finished my second read-through of The Gathering Storm last night and thought I'd pop in here and see what sort of interesting discussions you guys have going leading up to ToM. As they say in Japan, "please be nice to me".

  11. Started by Ryath,

Well, I am not exactly new to DM, nor to the WoT series. I first picked up the books in 1998 or so, and have been an avid reader ever since. I've read each book countless times and own several copies of each (2-3 paperback of each for having read through them so many times, and a hardcover collection for my library). I've really never been into the community of WoT, and I will admit I have no clue as to why. I have followed Dragonmount for years, and have been through a lot with it - the joy of new book releases and the tears (yeah, I cried) when RJ passed. I am not certain as to why I feel like now is the time to say hello - maybe I feel like I finally want to talk with …

Greeting's everyone , I have been around for a little time now , asking question about the plot and sometime i did dare answer to some , thought i never actually introduce myself i never felt as a stranger among you . Perhaps because of the passion we share or because you are a hell of a band . So as someone had guess i am French and my English may not be as good as some I hope you won't bleed in reading me. The funny thing about me and Wot is that i bought my first book in Canada during a trip with family , at the time i was searching for some book in French some fantasy book and i found a nice little French bookshop near Vancouver ; it was lord of chaos (I…

I've been reading WOT for about 14 years and remember thinking, round about book 8 that I sincerely hoped that RJ would not meet with any fatal accident. When I heard the worst, I was stunned, horrified and desolate. How could such a creative genius (for such I firmly believe that he was) be struck down in his prime by an incurable disease so rare that most people have never heard of it? His heroic struggle moved me deeply. There is no justice in this world. Eventually, I was not all that thrilled by the decision to have BS complete the series because I didn't think his style, as exemplified by Mistborn was even remotely appropriate. Well, I was wrong and have been doing …

  14. Started by Talir1013,

Hello all, Thought I would finally say hello and start posting. I used to be very involved in the online world of WoT, playing on the old Wheel of Time mud back in the mid-90s. I had a few characters on that, but had by far the most fun after I applied for and won the right to play Graendal. Such a blast. Its been great in the last few books seeing her cleverness and resourcefulness, and part of me will always root for the bad guys in the series for her sake. Anyway, I figured with ToM coming out soon it was a good time to start checking back in with the wot community, and with wotmania gone this seems like the place to be. Looking forward to seeing what everyone…

  16. Started by MrGoodkat,

Hello everyone! I am MrGoodkat and I am a new reader to the Wheel of Time series. Actually, I haven't read any of it yet. That is why I am here, to ask if I should read the original "Eye of the World" or the two sepperate books? Any suggestions? :D

  17. Started by Babylon,

First of all let me apologise in advance for causing anybody to wince over my grammar and punctuations, these I've got to say aren't my strong points in fact my ways of dealing with such is to throw something at the page and hopefully whatever lands doesn't look to out of place. Sadly for some reason this doesn't always work! After several years of what i guess could only be called some serious lurking, which in turn has led me at times to yanking at my hair in disgust and shouting at my screen over peoples need to re'read the books to other times where I've felt a complete moron for missing something obvious (still cant believe i missed the connection concerning Rand…

Hi! I'm an eighteen year old WoT fan from Sweden. Read the series first when i was 14, since then I have been hooked. Read the series twice and a third time starting on book no 9. To me the books are awesome and I see the characters as old freinds, that I know all about :) Hope to have a good time here!

  19. Started by Morbid,

Hi all! Im new here, I started reading the WoT series years and years ago and as many of you (Im guessing) reread them while waiting for the next book. Im 30-ish, from Sweden and found my way here while searching for news about WoT releasedates online. Looking forward to participating in this forum, and getting to know other WoT-fans. So I hope this is where the action is? /Morbid

Hello. I think I've done this before, but since it's been so long... I first read tEotW when it first came out in paperback. Maybe '91? I thought it was '90, the year my son was born, but the hardback (purchased later) says copyright '90, so that can't be right. A long time in any case. I've been checking out the site for a while. I've been a member before, but lost the account due to, I guess, inactivity. Maybe I'll be more active this time around. Anyway, thanks, Jason, for keeping this site going so well for so long. It has evolved quite nicely. A special thank you for the last few years during Mr. Jordan's illness and death. You helped provide a …

Hello, I'm Dave, and I recently moved to Denver from Chicago, where I watched the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup at a bar on, where else, Rand Street :). My brother-in-law introduced me to the series in 2000 when he was reading Winter's Heart, and I started reading the Eye of the World, but then life got busy, and I postponed reading The Eye of the World for another 9 years. On account of a rare eye condition, I would up buying the audiobook on itunes right before my last trimester of college (an 11-week period), and caught up big time, finishing Knife of Dreams the day before I graduated (and yes, completing all of my assignments and labs). I'll admit I used torren…

Hello and greetings to the community of DM. As with a lot of recent signees, I've been a long time lurker and this is actually my second registration ( I forgot what name or email my first one was made on years ago). I've been a WoT reader since my high school days back in Oz, and been hooked ever since. Interestingly enough, I actually started in WoTmania and found out about DM through them, and of course when it shut down here I went. Long story short ( brevity is not a strong point of mine) I enjoy reading the various discussions here, and the sometimes heated give and take between posters who shall remain nameless. I'll leave my TL;DR posts for the forums, ju…

I'm a huge fan of the WoT (obviously) and thought it'd be fn to join this site. Short introduction, I know, but thought it'd be better than just showing up (avatar and sig to come soon)

Hello all! I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I thought with all of the activity for ToM (this is the first book that I've actually been around here for) that I should at least introduce myself. I've been reading the series since I was 10 years old. My dad was reading it at the time and I think he gave it to me: a) to shut me up :) and b) to have someone to talk about it with Since then, I've read and reread the series many times (I think this past time was number 14); the characters feel like old friends. I have always loved reading, but it was Wheel of Time that really opened up my eyes and my world - I even met my fiance through a WoT rp s…
