I've been lurking around the forums for about year, I used to mainly go to wotmania and read the theories there. Right now I enjoy keeping up with Leigh Butler's WoT reread over at tor.com. I've been reading Jordan since about '92. I've probably read most of the books over a dozen times. Here's my order for the series. tSR LoC tGH FoH tEotW CoS tDR tGS WH KoD CoT PoD

Hi, only just registered after lurking for what seems like an age in the shadows as a guest... first started reading the WoT around 6 years ago, and even though my life has changed drastically in that time I've made sure the series has been re-read on average twice a year...always something new to find eh? Apart from Jordan, I also like to read books by authors like Douglas Adams, Robert Rankin, David Gemmell, Tolkien, Mitch Albom, Tom Holt etc

I've become a member from a few weeks back but haven't had much time to say or explore much here. Just want to say greetings to everyone and that I'm glad to find a large forum dedicated to the WoT series. Easily one of the best fantasy realms I've ever read about, and the most detailed. Fortune smile on you all!

Howdy all! Aemon Kristen here. Just to introduce my self, let me say that I'm 38 years old and contrary to what those nasty rumors Messana has been spreading, I am a man. I've been readin WoT for at least 15 years and I've done countless re-reads. I'm American but I've been living in Mexico for the last 11 years. I met my wife down here and on Christmas Eve we celebrated our 10th anniversary. I have a 4 year old son who is inexplicably obsessed with the Harry Potter movies (go figure). One other thing I should mention, I LOVE to roleplay and write stories. I used to be a very active member of the Draconian Empire (don't know if anyone remembers that one) and loved all the…

Hi everyone :) I'm new here, obviously, so thought I'd say hi. I've been lurking around the forums for a few weeks now but finally thought I'd summon the courage to join in. I'm on my first ever read through of WoT, I'm on CoT at the moment and LOVING it so far. My brother mentioned the series to me years ago, but I never really bothered listening properly to him, but then just before Christmas just gone he gave me his spare copies of the first three books, and since tucking into tEoeW I haven't looked back. I've been reading the series for about a couple of months straight now and cant wait to get my hands on my brothers copy of GS. Other than WoT, I love reading an…

Hello! After having been a WoT fan for years, I have just re-read the series and have just started The Gathering Storm. I keep recommending WoT to people, though most of them look at the width of the books and go pale LOL especially when they find out how many are in the series! Looking forward to seeing how TGS goes as am only a couple of chapters in, enjoying it so far though. I live in the UK, we have 4 cats and 4 snakes, go horseriding and cycling and in my spare time, read - lots and lots! For anyone who's at a loose end, I can recommend the "Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" set by Tad Williams - very enjoyable even if not QUITE on the scale of WoT! Hav…

Hello Dragonmount-folk! When I was 12 years old I bothered my brother so much during car rides to the family cottage that one day he shoved a book in my hands and told me I wasn't allowed to talk to him until I had read it. Well, that book was tEotW and 9 years later it remains one of my favourite books, along with the 11 others in the series. I'm really excited to become part of a group that loves the stories as much as I do. I've been lurking around the forums for the past few months and the fancy has finally struck me to join. I warn you now however, I am absolutely useless with internet stuff like forums, so I ask you to bear with me! I'm 21, female, C…

I started reading this series when Eye of the World was first published and have read every subsequent book within two or three days of release. My previous visits to this forum have really only been for the purpose of learning the date the next book would come out. Hopefully, I can have a little fun here with other folks who feel that this is the best series ever written (hobbits don't come close). By the way, Mat is my favorite character. We have way too much in common.

Wheel of Time is the greatest fantasy novel written... full stop!:) I dont read but i just keep re-reading this collection of books. I was scared when RJ passed that the gathering storm wouldnt live up to expectations. The prologue... scared me a little then it blossomed into one of the most exiting reads ive read in the series. I would only put the great hunt above the gathering storm. Straight to the action ... was a piece of art. Now the wait begins for the next installment.. :( Thanks to robert jordan for creating a world that I can escape to when this world doesnt offer the joys that it should :) Never dead you shall always live on with the wheel of …

hi dragonmount! long time reader, first time user :P I've been a WoT fan for a while now, ever since my mate told me about it and said 'it craps all over lord of the rings from a great height'. Anyway, i'm from Australia (Best country in the world ;D) but my parents are orignally from Sri Lanka, hence my username, cos i always thought that the Atha'an Miere were the Sri Lankans in the Third Age (i.e are really dark, have straight hair, and grow tea. Google Sri Lanka, and you'll see its almost exactly the same thing over there). So anyway, that's a little about me, and now i'm off to write about my latest Taim theory, but i just have to check someone hasn't already c…

Yar, so I went into my local Barnes and Noble and asked this cool cat employee what fantasy book I should read. He says, "Ever heard of WoT?" I tell him no and he hands me a cheap paperback copy of Eye of the World. Well, peeps. My life hasn't been the same. I'm on book 3 right now and I am absolutely engrossed. This is amazing. I'm going back and forth from reading it and listening to the audiobook that my library had in stock. The guy reading in the audiobook is a MASTER. If you have read the books and haven't had a chance to hear the audiobooks, give it a shot. It's done very well. I love how he does Loial's voice. Fave girl character so far is …

Hey, just thought I'd drop a quick thread here and introduce myself. Name's Sivaar, and I was introduced to the series by my Aunt two Christmas's ago (2008). Since then, I read the entire series and had to wait TWO WHOLE MONTHS for tGS(and yes, I know that some of you waited several years. I pity you greatly.) I bought it the day it came out at a Walmart. ;D Its my favorite book yet, and I cannot wait for the next one.

Greetings everyone, My name is marchon2884. I'm new here, been lurking for the past month on these forums and reading Dragonmount for about two years. I'm in my middle twenties, married without children. I live in New Jersey, where I attend a Theological School. I'm studying for a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education. In college I majored in Religious Studies and English LIterature with a focus on creative writing and composition. I enjoy reading (obviously), writing short stories, poetry, novellas, and essays, walking in the woods and playing board games (most particularly RISK). I began reading WOT while in third grade, abou…

But just started lurking forums which had been interesting! ;D Anyways I recently finished The Gathering Storm an loved it so much i've started Brandon's Mistborn trilogy which I think is awesome. An thats where I'm up to basically. So hi everyone! my names Stephen ;)

I'm actually not really new. I used to have an account on here, but I forgot the login (I was very inactive). I also used to be part of the Band of the Red Hand, but I kinda stopped doing that... Anyways, I'm too busy to be really active, but I'll try to drop by occasionally.

I learned about WoT from a friend he was reading the latest book at the time (Crossroads of Twilight) and asked him about it, after he told me what the story was about I bought the first book; I got hooked intermediately and last week I stared the third book (The Dragon Reborn). My favorite characters so far are: Lan, Faile and Loial. I've been lurking around the forums for a while but today I decided to join (new year, new start :p).

I started on the series in about '94 when there were about 4 or 5 books out. Don't correct me if I'm off a bit, it doesn't matter. Anyway, I have eagerly awaited every ensuing book. At 44, I'm probably a little old to be a fantasy geek, but this series is so great, so huge in scope,so well written and so LONG that I can't imagine just walking away from it. I have now read through the series 4 times because you just have to do that in between books to keep up. I really appreciate all of the news and info on the forums, even though you have to wade through pages and pages of guesses and opinions, because there are always things I miss, or connections I don't remember. …

The name's J-Rad nad I'm around the half way point in the Series. I just finished tFoH last night and actually have been lurking here for a while, so I felt I might as well join. One of my friends has been pressuring me to read the series for a while and another of my friends was infulenced by a friend on WoW and wanted me to read along (He's currenty midway through LoC). I started with tEotW in mid-october and was hooked from the start. Although most of the major plot tiwsts have been spoiled by said freind it's still been a wonderful expierience. It doesn't really matter to me though. I'm one of those people who doesn't really care if the whole plot is spoiled, be…

Well, I`m not addicted, but I have spent years reading the books, and years reading several different message boards. I remember back when the internet was brand new, one of the first places I went to was the old WOT FAQ. I spent hours pouring over every post. I have read and re-read the series numerous times. I fist picked up TEOTW in 1996 or so, on a recommendation from a friend. I read the first six books back to back. One of my favourite books is the Lord of Chaos. Some of favourite scenes are: 1. Travelling the Ways 2. The arrival of the Amyrlin in Fal Dara(I beleive it was), and her telling Rand he is the DR 3. Rand and Mat in Rhuidean…

Well, it would seem that I am new here. Maren's my name, the hawk just makes me happy. If I could be free and fly like a hawk, I would in a heartbeat. (stands awkwardly) But that aside, a couple of my friends got me hooked on WoT this summer. Even though it's a touch past summer, I'm only now on the 3rd book due to some delays. It's addictive this series is. Two of my friends were arguing over which end was better- one says 6, the other says 9. I told them I'd let them know when I got there- but in the meantime- does anyone have an opinion on that? -Maren

Hello guys, I'm new to the forums here... I'm from the Netherlands, 17 years old and picked the series up when I was about 15 years old. After having read all 12 books (including the prequel that is) I decided to buy the series in English. Quite a long row of books forms at my shelf. The Wheel of Time also brought me to Brandon Sanderson's work, Mistborn and Elantris. I actually finished The Hero of Ages this morning. Well, I hope to post something here and there... Maybe I can contribute something to discussions, since I read the series in two languages (save for The Gathering Storm). And thanks for all the moderators for your efforts and help for the beginner…

Hello, well I'm certainly not new to this wonderful, albeit, looong series. I started reading these books about nine years ago when I was 13 and found The Eye of the World in my brother's closet. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say the only reason I wanted to read it was because I thought the horses on the front cover were pretty but whatever the reason I originally picked it up it has been a part of my life ever since (that sounds so cheesy but it's true lol) I eagerly read all the books to Winter's Heart and then waited for the tenth to come out in hard cover. I read that and eagerly waited for the eleventh, but sadly to say by that time I was starting to doubt th…
