There is an exciting new development here at Dragonmount, and I’m looking for some people to be part of it. We are planning to improve and increase the content on our front page. As a result, I am calling for applications for two people to join my staff as bloggers. Applications for these positions will be open until Tuesday, July 26th. Description of the Job Positions: 1. The first open position is for a Wheel of Time Theory Blogger. This person will be responsible for a short weekly column about WoT theories. An example of a topic for the blog might be similar to this: "Terez posted on her blog last week that Demandred is really X. On our forums, Luckers s…

Sup everyone, I am rereading everything for the first time now and I have currently just finished book 4, tSR. In one of the last chapters, The Traps of Rhuidean, at page 973 in my version, Lanfear says this when she shields Asmodean:

Do any of you guys have any farout ideas about Ter'Angreal? I think it would be awesome if someone developed a half split piece of metal that has flows of air attached to it, that when brought across a blade make it as rough or smooth as desired by the user who may have access to the power but doesn't have to.

This is probably a RAFO thing, right? I'm curious, but maybe I shouldn't spoil myself. At the end of Lord of Chaos, he comes to Shayul Ghul and asks the Dark One if he's done well, and the DO laughs. Has anyone else wondered this? I'll just RAFO, but if it's already been revealed, you guys can talk about it, or if not, theorize on it.

This is a question that has always bugged me. Do the weaves of the one power need a connection to the channeler? If someone lights a tree on fire does that weave have to touch the channeler, like a cord which runs from the tree back to the person channeling? At some points in the book, I think the description of the one power becomes muddled. I think my question is unclear. Let me try another example. When Graendal lowers a weave of compulsion onto someone, is there a point where that weave meets her body somewhere or does the weave just float in the air where she formed it? Is it connected or unconnected? Take Arrows of Fire. These definitely have a connect…

has anyone else had the desire to rip apart all the books according to pov and to put them all together again so you have the story from one person at a time?

Have you ever hilariously misread anything in WoT? I have. Post yours. - In tGS, I thought the chapter "The Tower Stands" was called "The Tower Sucks". - At one point I thought Galad said, "We are bacon!!" to the whitecloaks.

Basically if you could change something about the story that was a major event and effected character development what would it be. I am not talking about things such as shortening the Faile captured by the Shaido arc or you would have liked to see X character more, but specific plot points that you feel the ball was dropped on or could have been done more to your liking. One for example is that I think Min should have died at Rand's hands in TGS and it would have made the story much better, not because I hate her or anything but quite the opposite. It was a scene that really had me on the edge of my seat and was wonderfully written but having her die would have mad…

Doesnt Egwene's dream in TOM where she see's rand cutting the 7 ropes which she knows to be rand destroying the seals, mean that rand will destroy the seals as her dreams come true? so her rallying resistance is pointless?

I recently received a book that I found very interesting. A copy of the Towers of Midnight signed by not just Brandon Sanderson but... Robert Jordan as well ?!?! The book originally comes from VJ Books. And my thought is... Something mighty strange is going on here. I was wondering if anyone on these forums can help shed some light on this situation.

Thought just popped into my head: why do none of the women in the story have it ingrained in their heads like all the men that women are not to be harmed? Also, why does this restriction not seem to apply to children? For example, it seems like 14 year-olds in Shinear are old enough to die as soldiers.

XXX47 had posted, some time ago very interesting topic Are the Amyrlin and Dragon Equal?. To answer to it here, no I don’t think they are. First is political office, a head of organization of magic users and a state that they had established, a head of a superpower that dominated its (very isolated) part of world for millennia. Second is a messiah, a prophesied savior of the world, an occurrence unprecedented in Age, who on top of his metaphysical clout have acquired control of significant part (perhaps greater part) of first’s territory (sphere of influence) and have much greater resources at his disposal. Reading 20+ pages of discussion I started to wonder: perhaps i…

So, if you had to choose, who/what would you want to be? Remember these are very dangerous times...It's not easy to be the Dragon Reborn, the Aiel people may disappear, soldiers are paid with food, the Horn of Valere is already found, etc.

Taking up on something Andizzle posted a while back. Sorry if this has already been done. Just to make it clear, I'm only doing this to gain empirical data. It's not my intent to begin another Egwene discussion thread, there's literally a bazillion of them already, and even threads that were begun with nothing to do with Egwene become a commentary. But, there's no stopping it I suppose, so do what you wish already, you crazy people ;) Please let me know if you think these are not very good questions, or if you can think of better ones concerning the response/reaction to Egwene. Oh, and for the record, Egwene is one of my favorite characters. Let it begin…

Was the Seanchen raid aganist Tar Valon succesfull? They captured 40 Aes Sedai and learned travelling. I wonder how many they lost? Surely half of the elite soldiers, that might not have been a very big loss but the also lost like 30(?) To raken. That might have been a bigger loss. I wonder how many damanae they lost? Offcourse learning travelling made it all worth while, but had it been otherwise?

Is losing the ability to use the One Power still seen as a nearly unbearable loss, if that ability results in centuries-long enslavement? Or would stilling met with relief by damane? I can't recall anything in the books that addresses the question, one way or another.

After Nynaeve completed her Aes Sedai test, the Sitters told her to swear never to use Balefire again. She told them she knew no other way to destroy darkhounds. How did she even know to use Balefire against them in the first place? Maybe I'm forgetting something, but she's never faced darkhounds before, has she?

Something that has occurred to me - Rand now knows about the DO's ability to resurrect Forsaken, and indeed, he has had encounters with Moridin and Cyndane. Given that - shouldn't he be wondering where Aginor and Balthamel are? He should (correctly) have assumed that they've been brought back, but has no way of knowing they have both since died again. Yet he never mentions them or seems to think about them. There's also Asmodean, who we do see him wondering about. Depending on what happens with Graendal, there's a strong chance Rand will never find out about Asmodean's death. Which means that after TG, if Rand is still alive, as far as he's concerned there'll …

So in my estimation, there are 5 possibilities to this 1) The Dragon Reborn and 2 Female channelers become 1 using Calendsor <2p?>. This is the most commonly held theory in Randland and everyone except Min seems to subscribe to it which is why I don't think this will be it. 2) Min, Avi and Elayne become one person, most likely LTT's wife Illyana. 3) The two halves of the one power and the True Power become one. I also find this unlikely, but I've seen the theory but about here. 4) Rand, LTT and Mordin become one. This is what I believed before VoG, but since Rand and LTT have effectively merged already, that also seems unlikely. 5) The 3 Ta'veran…

I've recently started to use the ebook covers as a rotating wallpaper for my computer, but the images contain the full cover. I remember that the old DM news articles for the covers had links to just the images themselves, without the text underneath, but it seems like those links no longer work after the move. I would absolutely love to be able to use those images as a background, since the artists did such splendid jobs on them, and a blown-up background of the portraits would look so much better. As such, I was wondering if I could still be able to access those images somehow (maybe a repost of the links or addition to the gallery?), or if someone who has them could…

...that you hated at first and then liked them later in the series, or vice versa? I personally hated Nynaeve in tEotW but by tSR she was one of my favourite characters. On the other hand, I loved Egwene in tEotW but from tGH it all started going downhill. So, what about you?

Just wondering that in the AMOL book that we will see another Seanchan raid on the White Tower (and/or even the Black Tower) Would this co-inside with Rand's proposed meeting on the Fields of Merrilor, which results in Rand using his abilities to diffuse the situation. Would this bring the Seachan forces finally to the side of the light and join in the last battle on Rand's side. Any comments much appricated?

Just finished listening to the TGS again and i dont see how Callandor can be involved in fighting the Dark One. Firstly Lews Therin said that why the female aes sedai in the age of legends plan for the choedel kal wouldnt have worked was because sheer power cant defeat the Dark one. (going off lews therin being the most knowledgeable bout the dark one besides the forsaken we can consider this to be true.) Next we know that Callandor can only be used safely when in a circle of 2 women with 1 melding the flows. How can the dragon Reborn be prophecised to sit in a circle and let women channel his power? Next Tuon says that one of the seanchan prohecies is for them to take ou…

I may be completely wrong here but I just had a bit of a thought. There is the prophecy about 'the three become one' and we've always assumed it's Rand/Moridin/LewsTherin. It probably still is and I'm not so precious about my theory to be shot down in flames, but... What if the 3 are Rand, Mat and Perrin? Rand has one hand, Mat... not sure how much I'm allowed to say in this forum. They can already 'see' each other when they think about them - surely that's got to be the equivalent of a live telephone link during battle? Of course there are several suggestions that this is way off teh mark already: Rand's hand - Min has 'seen' a black onyx hand, which my guess…

It is possible that this has been answered earlier. I was thinking that maybe Mat has Gaidal Cain in his head. Mat gets his head stuffed in ch24-26 of TSR. Against this is the fact that Gaidal Cain is present in Tel'aran'rhiod in ch52 of TSR when Biregitte meets Nynaeve. Although they claim that time travels differently in Tel'aran'rhiod.
