Has there been any word on an Ebook version of ToM at release/same time as hardback version? Been buying all the ebooks and would hate to have to buy the hardcover and then have the ebook come out a few months later.

Ok, so I finally get to ask my question about this that has been buggin me since I finished the book the first time. During TGS Siuan and Gareth find out about assasins being left behind but not necessarily as blood knives. In ToM Egwene spends a lot of effort trying to get Messana because she thinks she is the one doing the killings. So my question is why didn't she know about the assasins until after Gawyn (sp) has his run in with the ones trying to kill her later in the book?

I have a timeline question that I can't find the answer to. I want to know how Aviendha's meeting with Nakomi and her trip through the pillars of Rhuidean relate to other events in the book. In particular, what occurred before and what after Rand's metamorphosis at the end of tGS? There seem to be no clues in the book. Perhaps this has been clarified by Brandon Sanderson somewhere else?

  4. I find curious that Lanfear did not browse the Rhuidean plaza to try to find the female access key. Especially after seeing the male access key there in Rand's hands... What do you think?

As you saw from the title, this is my wacky theory regarding the prophecy that Rand will bind the 9 moons to him. To my knowledge, Tuon is no longer the d Daughter of the 9 Moons. And as of yet, most people agree that this prophecy has yet to be fulfilled. Part of my theory is that Mat+Tuon will have a kid or at least Tuon will be pregnant before the series is over. My theory is that Rand will negotiate an agreement where one of his male children will wed Mat/Tuon's first girl child. Any thoughts, or reasons that I am just flat out wrong, will be greatly appreciated.

What was the point of that prophecy?? And doesnt that make everything they do from now on pointless as it all leads to imprisomnet by the Seanchan?

After perusing a similar thread but not, I was curious what others thoughts of the main characters are as of Towers of Midnight. Specifically, favorite/most liked characters and sneer worthy/least liked characters. I think 3 of each works, if you want to add more or just one feel free. Also, I'd like it very much if this thread doesn't evolve into denigrating others for their choices and opinions, thanks! Favorites: 1: Matrim Cauthon hands down above the rest! 2: Nynaeve Al' Meara - me thinks your passion is very endearing :) 3: Light Rand - about time we had a complete feeling protagonist! Least Liked: 1: Egwene Al' Vere - your hubris is unpara…

hi , im new to the WOT community, but i love this series a lot.i was just rereading TGH n i thought why did Liandrin kidnap egwene and the others? just as a bait to bring rand, or is there dark prophecy involved?maybe the shadow knows how far the wonder girls would foil their plans, so they thought y nt just b done with them?

Among the many things you can learn about this book series, being that it's not merely a fantasty book series: -the dangers of a promised salvation***** -the necessity and righteousness of search for equal justice, and the burden of proof, no matter HOW much doubt exists***** -the complicated weavings of politics and foreign loyalties, and the necessity of subterfuge and spying***** -the strategy and execution of military action between allied and warring powers, both on open fields, on varied terrain, and urban warfare -the struggle of good vs. the most horrible, unspeakable evil, and the seeming eternity of this struggle, and what it truly means to be "good" and…

  11. There is a sh!tload of evidence to support this theory! Re-reading the wheel of time series, I found some things to be a little too obvious. 1. "The south had Demandred's markings all over them" 2. Taim was VERY angry over being number two to Rand. (When given the pin for Asha'aman) 3. Demandred was always just a little less then Lews Therin Telamon in the Age of Legends, which was why he went over to the shadow (jerk). 4. Why am I telling you this? Because Taim is a little less in the Power then Rand (80% sure of this), (before book 7) and was mentioned to being "very near to the same height as Rand" But, he was a little smaller in height. Didn't…

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this or not. But I have just come to read tGS on my Kindle and the chapters do not have the icons which tell who the chapter is mainly based around. All the others have them, except this one. Does anyone know if this is an error?

Well I could not find one so i figured I'd make one. Sooooo I will start. Black Tower Plotline This is simple. It will be Logain, his supporters, the aes sedai, and possibly Rand fighting Taim, the new Dreadlords who got turned, the evil asha'man and the dark aes sedai. possibly the remainder of the Black Ajah who escaped the purge. Taim and Logain will have their showdown. I think Perava will bond Androl. Who is Demandred? And where is he? I think he has been using proxies in Murandy, Black Tower, and Shara. He is behind the red veiled aiels, and he will die to Rand or Logain. Lanfear: Is she good or bad? Lanfear I have always been …

I'm guessing that Egwene would have taken the vast majority of her army and Aes Sedai to the Fields of Mamba-something (cant remember) She earlier had 2 dreams of Seanchan attacking the WT then defending it or coming to its aid. Way back in one of the earlier books someone Min or Egwene had a a vision/dream of a group of women being angry at Rand and one of them was a Seanchan Egwene is also tied to a woman symbolised by a Golden Hawk?? - really doubtful that its Berelain. A Seanchan woman with a sword on her back comes down the cliff and says "together we can reach the top" or something like that. Tuon would have a month for her spies to know about the armies gathe…

So, is it a given that the hordes of the Dark will be armed with tools from Mordin's AOL stash? In ToM, Graendal is shocked by the amount of items that Mordin has at his disposal, but he seems rather nonchalant about them. After all of these books, I for one would like to see a sho-wing and/or shocklance in action. If the Dark has these items, IMHO the Light will need the products from Rand's Schools. Imagine an army of steamhorses 'plowing' into a row of Trollocs. I can't find my 'Winter's Heart' book when Rand visited the schools, other than the 'steamwagon' and capturing 'lightning in a jar', I cannot fathom what other innovations the Light will have ready for the…

For discussion of the Epilogue specifically. So, in line... 1. Graendal's in trouble. 2. Perrin realises Noam chose to become a wolf. 3. Olver's seems to be a budding sociopath, and Caemlyn is invaded by Shadowspawn. Talmanes fears the loss of the Dragons. 4. Creepy Red Aiel Dudes. 5. Rand dreams of Cyndane. 6. Lan reaches the Gap.

I was just wondering this while reading the Black Tower chapters - we are now shown that the Black Tower now contains only a handful of non-Eeevil male channelers, most principally Androl's band of merry misfits and the Two Rivers men (because heaven forbid that anything or anyone coming out of the TR is less than perfect). This just got me to thinking - since Saidin is now clean, and even before that following Rand's declaration that male channelers are not to be hunted - where are the magical men from the two cultures personally associated with Rand - i.e. the Seafolk and Aiel ? Was it ever mentioned what the seafolk did with their men ? We know the Aiel channeler…

Rand stated in ToM that he would have Nynaeve and either Elayne or Avi wield Callandor with him at TG. This seemed okay, if not ideal to me. Alivia would be better than Avi or Elayne because she is stronger than they are. However, now that Moraine is back, will he take her with him to TG? If so, I fear disaster. Moraine is nowhere near as strong as Nyn or Elayne, and her being part of the circle could drastically reduce the total power available to seal the bore. Will Rand pick Moraine for the circle? Will this affect the strength of the circle? Did Ishy let her live in Foxworld because he knew Rand would have her rescued and take her to TG?

I was just curious as to the locals' opinions on the subject. I have gotten the impression that the old guard is mostly in the real camp and that there are a lot of constructors among the new members. I have read Luckers' article on the subject, and I think it confuses the issue a good bit, but seeing as how he told me once (at least, I think it was him) that it was never really a popular debate here, that's not too surprising.

I of course stayed away from glossary after hearing about the spoilers, and some people fee like it is how we learn about Graendal killing Asmo, but it's really not. Early on when Graendal is beckoned to Moridin's very own "Tower of Midnight" in the blight, he tells her she better not use the dreamspike against other Forsaken, because, and I paraphrase, he says it's becoming her habit to do that or something. That was the first major clue. Then of course SH tells her she is responsible for deaths of THREE Forsaken!! Obviously he means Aran'gar and now supposedly Mesaana, it is Asmo. The glossary clarifies this, but of course by the end of Book 13 you should be more t…

  26. Ever since the veru first book, characters have mentioned the possibility of Egwene becoming Amyrlin, either as an of the cuff remark about something that could happen in the far distant future or even a joke... And it finally happened. Likewise, the books have had far to many character joke about an Aes Sedai getting married to a Whitecloak, or even the Amrylin and the Lord Captain Commander get married. It has always been done as a "When pigs fly" kind of saying, but we all know that RJ loves dramatic irony foreshadowing. My Loony Theory: Berelain will die in the Last Battle. Gawyn will die in the Last Battle. Egwene and Galad will hook up. My Even M…

Is there a reason why an Aes'Sedai or Asha'man could not bond, oh let's say, a bunch of dogs or a pack of wolves to him or herself? A pack of wolves might do more damage than a single warder. And if they are bonded, then they'd be as loyal to help as they are for Perrin or other wolf brothers, would they not? I realize there are some issues that would be associated, like having a pack of wolves follow you in and around every city you venture to. But that brings up another question. Do you think it's possible that there is a way to temporarily force the warder bond into a dormant state, without passing it off to someone else or deactivating it permanantly? A wa…

  28. Hello all. Nyneave healed Naeff's madness in TOM. Im wondering if she will find a way to heal all those poor souls who have been forcibly turned to the Shadow. Im not sure...it loses much as a plot device if Nyneave can just erase one of the creepiest things that is possible to do to someone else. If she can Heal that, it hardly matters that poor Tarna was turned, or that I bet Androl will be turned...those awful moments and fate will go from tragedies to just inconvienence.

One of the many things that has made the WoT my favorite books, if the fact that they a literary masterpieces IMO weren't enough, is the vast amount of theories, forums, opinions and reading in general available above and beyond the novels themselves. (How's that for a run on sentance) They stand out in my mind as the standard for, among many other things, the perfect example of 'the gift that keeps giving'. I've read Stephen King, Piers Anthony, Terry Goodkind, Isaac Assimov(?)-(may have spelled that wrong, I'm sure I did), among other authors. Whereas all of those forementioned authors are great in their own way and I could only dream to aspire to be as prolific, tale…

  30. So what will become of the Legion of the Dragon after the Last Battle? They seem, even more-so than the Band, to be the best placed for the coming military revolution that firearms are going to introduce. Will Mat pick them up and bring them into the Band? Or will they go on to be the Black Tower's equivalent of Tar Valon's Tower Guard? Or will they be soldier's to accompany Rand's "Hundred Companions" and be completely wiped out at Shayol Ghul?
