I’m new, so feel free to tell me if I don’t follow procedure. DON'T SPOIL ME PLEASE. I just now started on book 6, Lord of Chaos. Basically I want to know everything I SHOULD know about each Forsaken up to this point. And I'm afraid to research, as I will inevitably get spoiled by finding out something I shouldn't know yet. Here is my list of what I know offhand. (Out of this list I also know at least 2 more of these are dead, but I forget which ones. Rand killed them in the first or second book? I also suspect that the person who is Elaida’s right hand woman(forget her name too) is a Forsaken, but we haven’t been told yet who in the tower is, nor have I…

I have first couple issues of New Spring comic books but I'm looking to get all of them and also start buying EoTW. But, when I'm trying to find them online I get all kinds of info and places. So, where can I purchase all of the WoT comic books at once? Thanks in advance

  5. Inspired by the thread on how this Turning of the Wheel will be different, over in the Gathering Storm forum. I was surprised how many people seemed like they would be satisfied with an ending that I would personally find awful. I currently rank the series on top of the epic fantasy genre, a botched ending, however, could ruin that. So what do you want to see? Remember, this isn't what you think we *will* see, but what you think would be the most satisfying.

  6. I see balefire popping in a couple of other threads, and since it's a complicated thing, I figure we might as well make a new thread for it. Before you get too crazy, I suggest reviewing our previous thread on OP shenanigans. http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,22755.0.html Have at it.

OK, so I, unlike a lot of people, really try to pronounce everything correctly. I read the glossary before reading the books, to make sure I pronounce everything right. I say nine-eve, egg-wain, ta-eem, etc. But all my life (well, since like 9th grade when I started reading), I have said sah-ih-deen and sah-ih-dar, because that is what the glossary to tEotW says. But then the other day I was going through the questions of the week, here http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dcjspjqg_50gfjzbbdr , and Jordan was all like, "This is how you say all this stuff: sigh-deen and sigh-dar. And I was PISSED. So is this a misprint, or did he change his mind, or was he jus…

So I was reading through some Q&As as I do sometimes, and someone asked him a brilliant question, and the answer was very interesting. I see similarities between RJ and all three of the boys in there. A peaceful man pulled into battle, among other things. I also think this hints at how RJ manages to make Rands PoVs so deep. Not much of anything really, I just thought it was a good read so I thought Id share it.

  9. There has been a lot of debate about what will actually happen at the end of the series. It goes beyond the poll of what we would be most pleased with. So maybe we should open a new poll for this purpose?

What's the median of Aes Sedai strength during the time of the series? Given as percentages of Lanfear's full strength, such as it were when she had newly awakened from the 3 000 years in entrapment. Only females (naturally), and only those that are Aes Sedai. Could be interesting to see what people think.

Ishamael : Lead the forces of the Dark One and ended up losing and the Bore was sealed with him half trapped Ba'alzamon : Tried to turn Rand at the Eye of the World, received ass kicking Ba'alzamon : Battled Rand in the sky above Falme, stabbed through the heart Ba'alzamon : Attacked Rand in the Stone, received yet another ass kicking and killed Moridin : Named Nae'blis, sends minions to stop Rand from cleansing Saidin, they receive an ass kicking. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So, with Ishy such a complete and repeating failure, why does the Dark One keep going back to him? Is the Dark One insane, or…

Does he know or see everything? If so, why does Arangar/Halima free Moghiden? Why not just kill her? The Chosen are always at each other's throats and would rather kill each other than see another named Nae'Blis. If Asmodean was offed, why not her?

In Eye of the World, Moiraine states you usually get ill a week to 10 days after first time you channel (at least that goes for girls, since she was explaining this to Nynaeve. Could be different for boys I guess..) Miraine also says she noticed Bela didn't need any help getting rid of the fatigue, and that this must be rands doing. However, it was not until right before Rand and Matt gets to Camelyn that Rand got the Illness you get for first time channeling... It took them more than 10 days from leaving Aemonds Field to get close to Camelyn, didn't it? And it couldn't be cause of the lightning Rand made to escape darkfriends either, cause that was only 3 days …

Okay it looks like some characters will die in the upcoming battle. The question is, though, who we wouldn't want to go the way of the dodo. Be it because of ,you think it would be bad for the story or it would upset you a bit or whatever. Obviously some of them prob won't die, Mat being one, but I put them in anyway. Also if you vote other put in who you were thinking of. And one last thing you do you think will bite the bullet? Yes I meant to sat we. Obviously most of them don't want to die. I am a dodo.

  17. Started by Sid,

I'm wondering what people's opinions are concerning Birgitte and her current situation. Does this happen every turning of the Wheel, and she just cannot remember far enough back even in Tel'aran'rhiod? If so will she do something so heroic in this age that she'll be bound to the horn again right away? (perhaps a heroic death even before Mat blows the horn and she can return and be all cool about it) She at one point mentions hearing about a 'female warder but that was so long ago that she cannot even remember anything beyond that' and it is in fact possible that it's herself that she's barely remembering. Or, is this the first time this has ever happened to her i…

  18. Okay, I come here some, mostly read posts, don’t post much myself since I am only book six. But the reason I am still only on book six is that I find myself continually bogged down with this series, having quit it at least five times in the last three years only to find myself wanting to find out how things turn out and jumping back in. I am curious to know, what is the overall impression of Robert Jordan’s writing style? Despite the fact that I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction and even enjoy some of the more cryptic hard SciFi stuff, I struggle with Jordan. The best way I can describe it, he seems to overwrite at times, going on for pages about the kinds of …

  19. For me, early on, Aviehnda and Egwene and (*Gasp*) Mat are three examples of characters that really grated on my nerves quite badly early on. Now I have great affection for all 3. Egwene's arc in TGS blew me away. I also greatly enjoyed the rare Avi Pov we got in TGS. I think I was one of the rare blokes that liked Nynaeve from Day One but my deep esteem for her has done nothing but grow. I LOVE that woman lol!!! I fall in and out of love with Elayne all the time. I wonder if we are supposed to because of the character's (or its probably just mine lol!) immaturity? Times I am sooo proud of her and other times I want to throttle her. Rodel Ilturade an…

  20. In the Age of Legends, someone found an ancient relic from the previous age, a bottle of sorts, and on it was a symbol with the word balance below it. And thus the ancient symbol of Aes Sedai was born. :D Now unleash the laxative jokes. ::)

Does anyone know if any of the heroes that are bound to the Horn of Valere have been reborn. Care to venture a guess as to who they are? I'm fairly sure Perrin and Mat are someone reborn. Opinions?

  22. Does someone have it hosted somewhere else? I found it the most complete and detailed. The one at sevenspokes.com seems arranged according to books which is not helpful at all when you reach PoD. And right now I am at Winter's Heart and am confused how come a month and a half has passed since Seanchan invasion of Ebou Dar when we see Mat's chapters again. That means Nynaeve was in Caemlyn for at least that much amount of time before Rand plucked her out of there? Which means, attack on him happened just before that. Means he was back from Ilian-Altara fighting Seanchan. So, that means, he stayed there that long? Doesn't make sense... So, does anyone have Steve Cooper…

Hey everyone, just something I noticed in my latest re-read. I may be reaching here but the black and red are Ishamael/Moridin's colors. Could it be that Ishamael played a big role in Mordeth bringing down Aridhol? It could just be coincidence, but with him never being sealed, and the story behind the fall of Aridhol, it sounds exactly like something that he could have done. Feel free to prove me wrong, just never registered in any of my other re-reads and figured I would see other peoples thoughts.

  26. This thread is to speculate/discuss Egwene's actions as Amyrlin and the changes she might bring to the White Tower. Likely the Kin would join soon; and maybe also some of the other channelers with Elayne. The rebel's novices would probably arrive before them. If Tiana is still around, she might become the Tower's Mistress of Novices. Egwene might form a group of Aes Sedia that would help reunite the White Tower; the sisters that hunted the Black Ajah might be that group's first members. She might also send other groups to capture the Blacks that fled and to bring back other sisters to the Tower. Those of them who prove to be non-Blacks, Egwene might let t…

Doing a re-read and I missed something: What is the deal that the Shaido make with the Tower? also, Who "sends a message" to the Salidar sisters by nearly killing Demira when they go to Caemlyn to meet with Rand? They look like Aiel, but they have black eyes.

Do you think it is possible to balefire oneself? My hypothesis is that it is not possible, because the balefire would undo the effects of itself, in essence, returning the person before they could weave the flows. Of course, maybe balefiring oneself would cause a loophole in the pattern in that particular space? Any other thoughts?

This has been brought up before but with no clear resolution. Before crossing The Spine of the World, where did the Aiel get the wood for all the spears and arrows their warriors needed? A consevative estimate of the warrior population is 750,000 across 12 tribes or clans. with each warrior carrying 3 spears and 2 dozen arrows. This does'nt even consider the 1 foot of steel each spear needs.along with arrow heads, knives, and other iron or steel tools like cookpots, farming tools ect...

Moraine gave the letter telling how to rescue her to Thom instead of Mat. It seems likely that Moraine is living in the Tower of Ghenjei since Lanfear survived as Cyndane. Mat seems likely to take Noal when he goes with Thom to rescue Moraine. What will the reprecutions before Thom, Lan, Egwene, Nynaeve, Elayne, Aviendha, Rand, Siuan, Leane, Mat and Perrin if she is rescued? Who exactaly is Noal Charin?
