Rand and Moridin are literally MERGING. NOT SWAPING. LOL. As Min saw, these two men are beginning to look like each other, act like each other, see each other, feel each other, etc. It's crazy but they really are becoming ONE. Not switching bodies! By the way, what did you guys think about Moridin's statements regarding the death of the Wheel? He hadn't ever quite put it like that before.

Apologies if this should go in a different section, or if it has been announced/ discussed somewhere, but will there be a 2010 Wheel of Time calendar?

1. After some no doubt complex maneuvering Egwene will unite the WT. Mat will help Tuon and the Seanchan into an alliance at least for the duration of TG. Berelain will reign in Galad and most the Children of the Light. That the common men and rank and file of the Borderlands will join the fight against the DO in TG is a given. So in essence the whole of the Westlands, the Seanchan expeditionary force, and the Aiel will stand against the DO. 2. Having Channelers seems more important than ordinary armies. 30? channelers quickly killed 100,000 trollocs despite the later having achieved surprise in KOD. We do not know how many darkfriends there are in the White and Blac…

Not being too impressed with the semi-official soundtrack for the books, I thought I'd take a crack at my own Wheel of Time interpretation. I'm in the process of scoring a track that is comprimised of three movements: 1. Telamon (Demo enclosed) 2. The Skies of Falme 3. Dumai's Wells Now then, here is the link: (EDIT: Removed until the song gets finished). Hope to hear some feedback. Warmly, Andrew

I seen someone else do this, and thought it would be a good idea to get my thoughts down, and see if other ppl had similiar thoughts, or what they think of mine here...should done this from book1 so i could laugh at my previous theories =) Anyways... So far i've really liked the series. It was GREAT until book5, which i had to PUSH through. So much about Nyneave and Elayne, and all the girls. Sure it was fun to see them fight Mogdien. (Forgive all my spelling errors, these names are hard to spell!) But Nyneave personality BUGS ME SO MUCH. As bad as it sounds, I really wish they would kill her off, but it's obvious she will become the strongest Female ever to h…

Min had this viewing 4 times (Shadow Rising Chapters 17 & 47, Crossroads of Twilight Chapter 24, Knife of Dreams Chapter 18). Only this viewing has been repeated. So it must have been really important to the Pattern. (Generally things repeated have big significance.) From Egwene's dream (Crown of Swords Chapter 10), it probably relates to the Black Tower. This thread is to talk about what Logain's Glory & Power would be and also methods of how he could gain it. The most likely possibility would be taking over Taim's position which he might gain by killing Taim (intentionally or unintentionally) or by finding Taim's body (and maybe finding the killer) …

Callandor has no buffer to stop a man from burning himself out. It also magnifies the taint, but as there is no taint right now, that part doesn't matter. What matters is there is nothing to stop a man from drawing too much. A circle provides a natural buffer to the involved channelers. Nynaeve and Elayne say as much when they are using the Bowl of Winds and teaching the Windfinders to link. So with a man drawing through Callandor but involved in a circle, is there an upper limit to what he can draw? The circle would buffer him... Could Callandor theoretically be more powerful than the Choeden Kal in that case? Edit: Even small spoilers go byebye. …

OK please tell me I'm not the only one to have thought at one point, that the book Loail is writing could possibly be the book that you're reading? So, who else would think that I'd be awesome if at the end of the final book Loial's singnature was at the bottom of the page?

Ok, I'm pretty sure EA has the WOT game rights, so whichever moron signed it over to them should be tar feathered then ripped into tiny peices and pissed on. Think I'm being mean? I gor one thing to say. Lord of the Rings. EA took everything that was magical about the series, flushed it down the toilet, and turned it into a mediocre hack and slash. They will ruin WOT the same way. There are plenty of other companies that could do Robert Jordan's masterpiece justice. Bethesda is my choice. They could make the vast landscape and cities and people that make up the wheel of time. The magic systems from Oblivion is perfect for the one power and Bethesda is very …

There's one thing that's always had be bit confused regarding shielding the series. We know that to shield someone who's holding the One Power, you need to be much stronger, otherwise it doesn't work and is in fact quite unpleasant. So unless you're weaker than an opponent, you don't have to fear being shielded. So why did Moghedien and Nynaeve fight the way they did? Spirit against Spirit, each keeping the other's shield from touching the connection to saidar. If they were evenly matched in strength, shouldn't both shields just have shattered at an attempt to shield? Why bother attempting it at all, let alone trying to keep the shield away? I could accept Nya…

Just a thought, I have always wondered what would happen if you bridged the gap that results from stilling/gentling on a person who can't channel? Would they now be able to channel? Or would they not have the gap at all? Did RJ ever say anything about this? Thoughts anyone?

I've been re-reading the series recently and started thinking; just how much did Hedid Fel work out? We know he figured out the essentials of how to clense the taint and knew alot more before he was killed. So I wondered if he was able why can't we? We know he worked from a position of logic using concepts that we should also be able to understand. So this thread is to see if we can come up with a likely storyline using only logical proceses. I'll get the ball rolling. I recon the best place to start is at the end point (or prehaps the beginning)and work backwards as the ending is the only absolute we have. We know that in the end the wheel has to come back to the p…

I went and asked Chuck Dixon if his scripts were going to be used to finish off the publication of New Spring and he said All quotes taken from Chuck Dixon's site http://dixonverse.net/board2/index.php?topic=32.0 taken from a reply to a question I posed on his forums I then asked To which he replyed So from this we can assume they are at least in talks with him to do the books Darth_Andrea

Now I'm not expecting the kind of wholesale slaughter that George R.R. Martin likes to engage in, but we all know that someone's going to have to die. Probably a number of someone's. I included (and excluded) the names above because some other characters have some pretty good evidence that they will survive, at least temporarily, and tried to avoid too many of the main characters. You can select up to five answers... and of course, any discussion as to how, why or what the effects of those deaths might be is encouraged.

I have been a sci/fi/ fantasy fan for a long time. I have read most of the most popular series in existance. What I like most about sci/fi/fantasy is that all of the authors try to keep there humans; human. There is a lot of things about the wot series that I had a hard time with.(some one told me after I read the wot, I would hate all the woman in it) The biggest thing I have a prob with is the relation ship Rand has with the three woman. I know this is a FANTASY series but come on!! What woman would share the man they love with any other woman even if they were the best of friends! I have not seen anyone mention this, this series was in no doubt written by a man! …

I read Glen Cook's The Black Company books around 88 or 89 and had forgotten how fantastic they were...I came back across them the other day. My jaw dropped reading about ''The Ten Who Were Taken'' ... The Taken. I love Mr Jordan and WOT (and admire and appreciate what Brandon Sanderson did with The Gathtering Storm) and all its brilliance and always will and can't wait for Towers of Midnight and I understand that all fantasy borrows from each other...Dark Lords/Rings/Magic/Farmboy Heroes/Swords/Quests etc...but this is just WAY too similar. I mean WAY too similar. It makes the similarity to Dune look like nonsense. It makes Goodkinds series look stun…

‘twas the night before tGS, and all through the ‘mount, Everyone felt antsy, even the ‘count. The postings were posted on the board with care, In the hopes that the Dragon soon would be there. The fans were all nestled snug in their beds, With dreams of Elaida’s death in their heads. When out on the lawn they heard such a clatter, ‘twas the sound of the bandwidth giving a stutter. What came next, bare tells the story, The board did fall to the newbies glory. But all was well for it swiftly revived, And thereafter Rand’s tale soon was alive. All of a sudden there was a still in the air, And the posters did gather round, eager to hear. O…

I just finished New Spring the novel. But I recall having read a short story called 'new spring' some years back. I think I got it from the net somewhere. In this short story Moiraine bonds Lan too but in another context, I believe somewhere at some lake. It was a whole different story, much shorter, almost only a chapter I think.. Somebody knows what I'm talking about? I wanted to compare those but I don't have the short one on my harddrive anymore. Is is somewhere downloadable? And can somebody please confirm there *was* another New Spring please (and I am still more or less sane)?

So in EotW Gawyn says that Rand looks just like an Aiel, but why. I ask because Rand does look alot like Gawyn, Egwene says in LoC that they are of the same height and build. They both have reddish hair, and i think light eyes, not brown. I understand why it is said in the context of the story, that you need the reader to know what and who rand is but why from someone what looks just like him.

As I understand it after death the soul is reincarnated after an unknown time into a newborn with no memories of earlier lives. So is there or not a reward/punishment system for moral/immoral behavior? 1. Between "real" lives the soul is placed in a heaven or hell depending on its prior conduct. 2. Kharma based reincarnation where the pleasure in the next life is based on moral conduct in the prior. So if you have been bad your next life will be miserable. 3. Prior moral conduct is ignored and the soul is randomly assigned to a newborn.

I think that once he defeats the Dark One the Dark Ones taint on the One Power will be gone and Rand wont need to be stilled/go mad.

Has there been any word on an Omnibus version of AMOL? I have emailed Brandon about this but have not received a response yet. I have not/will not purchase any of the three final books unless there is a "true" final book. I will probably extend this to a full Tor ban but I don't know yet. Just trying to see if there has been any word on this.

Didnt know if anyone posted anything about this but this is how the quote goes: And it came to pass in those days, as it had come before and would come again, that the Dark lay heavy on the land and weighed down the hearts of men, and the green things failed, and hope died. And men cried out to the Creator, saying, O Light of the Heavens, Light of the World, let the Promised one be born of the mountain, according to the prophecies, as he was in ages past and will be in ages to come. Let the Prince of the Morning sing to the land that green things will grow and valleys give forth lambs. Let the arm of the Lord of the Dawn shelter us from the Dark, and the great sword …

In only one society in the westlands, are channelers suspect. Amongst the Aiel, they are afforded deep respect as we;; as a high societal rank. Wise Ones can go anywhere and do just about anything (at least until recently but for the past three thousand years, give or take) without fear. Of course, the Clan chiefs talk about meddling, but in a more fond tone, mainly because they are married to them and would expect a wife to meddle, only on a bigger scale. but in any case, they listen to them and generally heed their advice. Amongst the Sea Folk, the Windfinders also are entitled, though in their case they rise and fall many times. In Ebou Dar, it is n…

This is random, since I'm in the middle of FoH and this happens around the third or fourth book, but it just popped in my mind today. Ok so in the first couple of books these two were like in love, trying to protect each other and and always on their minds....then in the third or fourth book they both cut it off saying they are more like siblings....that really hit me it was so random. There seems to be no reasoning behind it, it's like they woke up one day and the feelings were gone. Is there reasoning?? It kinda just happened and hasn't been refered to so far as of the fifth book. I don't want to know what happens after the fifth book, i just wanna know why it was …

Alright, I've been toying with these theories in the back of my head for a while, and it was only until I re-read ACoS that I really started looking for it. While I am aware that these are just off the wall and crazy theories, these Heroes have to be in the world somewhere, especially with TG looming on the horizon. I think RJ has been hinting at a few, and I want to see what everyone else thinks. Maybe I'm right, or maybe I'm just nuts. I went ahead and listed all of the heroes that I could find. I might have missed one or two, but... There's not much information on a lot of them. In fact, the only one I'm really sure about is Gaidal Cain. Everyone else, well, may…

I have been think of something for awhile now. We always hear channeling being called tapping into or embracing the True Source, but we never get a full explaination on what the True Source is. In EOTW, I beleive Moiraine says that it is the pool of energy that powers the wheel of time and that the One Power comes from it. I beleive its more than that. There are 3 great powers in the WOT universe. The One power, the True Power, and the Power of Creation. My theory is that all of these are spawned from the True Source. When the Creator tapped into the TS, the power of the source is purified in his body and becomes the power of creation. When the Dark one does so…
