What are some of the things you think will be the "Wonders of the 4th Age", or some of its defining new inventions / societies / setups? That is, assuming everything doesn't go BOOM at TG ;D My own thoughts: 1. Male & Female Channelers working together for healing with the new Healing weaves 2. Combination of "Industrial Technology" with One Power technology (think Jo'cars mixed with Automobiles) 3. Re-establishment of trade and communication between the major continent groups: Randland, Seandar, Shara, maybe even Isle of Madment o_O 4. Development of new talents: Min's viewing ability, Wolfebrothers/sisters, Sniffers, etc

Hello. Sorry if this is the wrong board to post it in, I wasn't quite sure where to go for this specific stuff and I figured somebody here would probably be able to help me. Basically, I am trying to download the book jackets (if its possible) for all the Wheel of Time books. Are these available online? Secondly, does anybody know if TOR sells their book jackets as official posters? And where they are available? Thanks!

I would see that the Dragon has been reborn and the wait for a few hundred years until he dies. Just bide my time, not tell the Forsaken to F stuff up, not bring down armies of trollocs to get slaughtered, not screww with weather, and definitely not draw attention to the fact that the seals are weakening or broken. Nope I would just hang out in Shayoul ghoul. Play horse shoes, or Mario kart. Then when Rand is dead and hasn't united anyone or even left the 2 rivers, I will strut out of Shayoul Ghoul. Then demolish everything in the blink of an eye un-opposed. Sure, It wouldn't make a very good novel. But, when it comes down to it, the DO will lose by the end of …

"Fish Guts!" I can't help it, every time Suian Sanche says this (especially with her new young woman face since her Healing) I have to chuckle to myself. Anyone else got any favorites or non?

I was just thinking about this. How many times do they say that there is a man who can channel running around in this book. They also note that he seems to be everywhere. Traveling anyone? The final clue I think comes when Siuan and Moiraine are in that city at the end and they hear about a blacksmith who had his back snapped without a mark on him. Let's see... what happened to all those rats in TEotW. What did Ishy try to do Rand/Mat/Perrin? I think we have major clues that Ishy has been around the Borderlands during the time period of this book. This brings up another point. Cadsuane is there and she has a Ter'Angreal that detects male channeling... I wonder...

A while back Tor was giving away free copies of The Eye of the World and Mistborn. Now GeekSix is giving away three sets of the book also. All you need to do is leave a comment in the contest thread for a chance to win for yourself or to give away. Looks like only a couple of days left to comment. http://www.geeksix.com/2009/10/geeksix-says-you-can-win/ Wasn't sure where to put this as it is Wheel of Time related, but is it too fringe? Anywho. Mods, if this do be the wrong forum, I apologize, feel free to ship where appropriate.

Perhaps others have brought up this subject, but numerous WoT related Wikipedia articles are in danger. :) Many lack citations which may result in their deletion. Some of them are also poorly written. I was just hoping someone might have the time/energy to work on some of those... Just something I thought I'd mention. :)

So i'm re-reading ACOS and I came to a part that interested me, " triumph and logic" falion and ispan get done killing a wise one in Ebou Dar. Right after this happens it goes to a POV of an old man, it reads " Sitting on an upended barrel in the sparse coolness of a narrow, shaded alley, he studied the house across the busy street. Suddenly he realized he was touching his head again. He did not have a headache, but his head felt... peculiar... sometimes. Most often when he thought of what he could not remember. Three stories of white plaster, the house belonged to a goldsmith who supposedly was being visited by two friends she had met on a journey north some years a…

So, as I have been reading, I have put together a theory on why people are seeing ghosts and "things out of nightmares." First off, we have the statement that when the DO is free in one world, he is free in all worlds. So, we can theorize that these worlds might bleed through into the world in the books due to the DO's influence on the pattern. We saw Rand travel to one of the worlds of If. In this world, history had happened differently and with strange results like the Grolm being the only things still living (that he saw). We know that some things are completely different like hallways moving, some things are just slightly different like a different tap…

Anyone else hate how the One Power is too powerful in the series? i mean you can have epic battles of armies tens of thousands strong, and than a few channelers come in to the picture and just obliterate the adversary. Arms are just a distraction to them, and i find that takes away some of the epicness the series could have (with the One Power alot less powerful). Like take this scenario: Lan and his army put up a valiant fight at Tarwin's Gap against impossible odds of trollocs, they are actually wining thru strength of will. They are acheiving victory, but oh wait! 20 dreadlords appear out of a gateway and completly destroy the army, how cool was that! ::) Thi…

So I was reading RJ interviews and comments and came across this Erica Sadun: Did you deliberately make Rand like Tew/Chew, the god of war who loses his hand? RJ: Yes. Ok, this was from the LoC tour in 1994, so my question is what characters are based off of what legends, and do you think things that happened to those legends will happen to the characters?

Logain, laughing, stepped across something on the ground and mounted a black stone; when she looked down, she thought it was Rand's body he had stepped over, laid out on a funeral bier with his hands crossed at his breast, but when she touched his face, it broke apart like a paper puppet. Anybody ever catch that egwenes dream about this Rand had 2 hands in it? any signifigance?

Ok, I know I'm behind in my series reread when I just started Lord of Chaos this morning... So Gawyn believes that Rand killed Morgase and he holds to that belief no matter what, colouring his hatred for Rand. Why just believe that 1 rumour so strongly? Told to him by a peddler in the Prologue who arrives just at the hill-top camp while the Aes Sedai meet with the Shadio Wise Ones. My wild theory is that the Peddler is the ever-corruptive Padin Fain, just brushing through enough to turn another possible ally against Rand.

i was just reading the books again in time for TGS. and i just finished WH. it just occured to me that moridin was absent during the cleansing even though he gave the order to take rand or kill him should he try cleansing saidin. so was he hiding behind the skirts of cyndane and moghiedian? what does it say when the strongest forsaken is actually not present to stop the very thing he told his own brethren to stop?

Hey Guys, I've been feeling melodramatic this week and (after watching a particularly good episode of Glee) have decided to ask one of the ultimate questions: What is the saddest scene, to you, in this series? For me it was back when Rand was reading Moiraine's letter right after she died one the docks. When he started crying and didn't realize it until the maiden told him... omg.

This thread is also about the Viewing of Rand failing without a woman dead and gone; yet this is to talk about what the failure would be, not about the who.

First this is my first post. Second I went to Books A Million today to preorder TGS and they had them out on the table and sold me one. She had to override it to sell it but she did. Unfortunately/fortunately I am in college and this is exam week so I won't get to read much until Friday but I am planning a weekend of reading.

I just read some posts in TGS board about a body swap thing between Rand and Moridin? Been finishing my re-read of the last three books recently and I can't remember any body swapping being done by Rand or to him. Could someone fill me in what this body swapping is supposed to refer to? It's hard to follow the line of discussions that include them and I can't seem to find any reference to them (I've started another re-read but am only at book 3 now with this re-read).

Sometimes I think we all forget just how amazingly Powerful Rand is... With Gateways, Travelling, Fireballs etc...he could have made some of Perrin and Mat's recent adventures MUCH simpler!!! Also, isn't it kinda weird how the three most important men on the face of the planet at this point in time (the three tav'eren) NEVER communicate with each other? Fish

I don't mean RAFOs like ''Who Killed Asmodean'' lol - I mean just little questions and mysteries you have had from the plot through the years that The FAQ missed and you have never seen answered online...Heres a Few of Mine: 1 Was it Tylsen or Joline that gave Mat the note in ACOS? 2 Where was Noal sneaking back around the corner from in COT when Mat knew he shouldn't even have been there in the first place? 3 Is Verin Sedai mortal? 4 Did Hadnan Kadnere in FOH know that Keisendre was Lanfear? 5 Who sent the Trolloc attack against the manor house (rand, cad, min etc) in KOD? ... I know its always been said by everybody that its pretty obvious that …

Okay, You have the ability to channel and you also have 13 men and women that can channel along with you. If you were to make something with the power what would You make? Describe it in as much detail as you like. For instance What it would look like? What would be its purpose? Would it require channeling? Would You set any traps in case someone You didn't want to use it would get injured? I just thought of this, but sadly, have not come up with my own yet. Any comments would be appreciated even those of you who cannot channel. ;D

Jason said: "... it was Egwene who stole the show for me. To describe what she goes through, what’s revealed to her, and what she chooses to do in the end, would be far too spoilerish to get into..." In one of the podcasts they discussed what could possibly happen and while listening to it, it sparked a thought. "What she chooses to do in the end" I think means she will do something drastic and my thoughts are that it will probably have to do with the Seanchan attack. Well, I'm going to assume that when she gets in touch with the ferrets in the Tower, she will learn of the hunt for the Black Ajah and then be lead to the fact that someone has the Oath Rod. …

I checked the FAQ and the Encyclopedia and I can not find these two scenes that I have been looking for - i really appreciate help. I mean the SECOND Mat/Siuan scene where she is like ''I asked you once before if you'd be around when the flames are high, boy.'' And the scene where Fain touches Elaida with the Dagger. Thanks for helping me with the chapter and book where they are - theyre cool parts! Fish

So in preparation for the final book being published next year, I'm reading the WoT books for what I believe will be the last time for a long time (at least 5 years). Every time I read the series I notice new things that I've never noticed before. So I thought I'd make a thread for people to mention what they noticed the last time they reread (or this time if they're still rereading) the WoT series that they missed the earlier time(s). Tonight I noticed that it was Lanfear who was the mysterious woman in the villages in the Great Hunt when Rand is with Ingtar chasing the horn. I always thought she was some curtains or some past event like the one with the flies …
