I don't know how many of you are familiar with the website Tellings of the Wheel: The Chronology of The Wheel of Time . Basically it is a website that puts all the chapters of The Wheel Of Time in Chronological order. Unfortunately, it stopped updating before the series finished. As such it does not factor in Towers Of Midnight, A Memory Of Light, or River Of Souls. I was wondering if we could work on an update for it? I'd say a fan update, but it was a fan project to begin with.

I don't know about anyone else, but for stupidity I think Elaida deserves the gold medal. I'm currently re-reading A Crown of Swords. Whilst reading the prologue, I noticed Elaida thinking 'Alviarin really is a fool.' right after telling Alviarin to send fifty sisters to stop the Black Tower and its '2 or 3' male channelers, and believing that the rebel Aes Sedai only have 3000 troops in their army, an army being lead by a Gareth Bryne, one of the Great Captains. There had been even more stupidity involving her, such as how she wants a palace that has a spire taller than the White Tower. I understand making her an idiot so that the reader would dislike her, but it sure f…

In the mirrior world Rand, Loial and Huran travel through there are several things that are "off" which they encounter. The tree that was happy to be made into a weapon; the vast tracts of steralised land that looked as if made by a paintbrush; the monumet dedicated to the shadow's triumph over Hawkwing and Man in general; but most of all that single streak in the sky which Rand see's but could not identify as a cloud. Has anyone any idea what that streak is?

Over the years I've seen comments from people insinuating that Robert Jordan changed the Mazrim Taim storyline into something different because fans had deduced in their theories that he was actually Demandred (I was one of those many people supporting this theory back in the day, it was pretty convincing for a long time there). Obviously we now know the Taimandred theory not to be true, but is that because Jordan changed his plans due to the fans? Or are these rumors I've seen and heard just baseless rubbish?

I was wondering: We know that TP can destroy cuendillar and that there is one other way. (And I'm aware this must have already been discussed...somewhere. But I can't find that thread, so I can't check if my theory is old for you, for me it's new). The only other way I can think of is to take some object of cuendillar into TAR while going there in the flesh, hand it to Perrin3000 and ask him to unmake this. What other theories are there?

I can't be the only one who takes issue with how suicidal the borderlands are. As far as I'm concerned, Ingtar was the only one who had a clear grasp of the situation, even if his method of dealing with it was flawed. In a sane world, the borderlands would be telling every southland nation 'Hey, we're dying by the hundreds every year to keep you safe. You need to give us tribute in materials, money or men, or some will slip through into YOUR lands. You don't want that, right?' And they would tell the white tower 'You know how important our duty is. Why are you not stationing Aes Sedai in every city and town we have to bolster our defense? You prattle on about our duty. Is…

Who is "The other one"? This might be a reference to Mat and Perrin but I can't find it? The first time I read the series I was curious but now that I've read through it several times I'm really curious. On page 79 of WH Rand is @ the academy in Cairhien and he's wishing he could leave something behind and hoping he could build something positive that lasts past the Last Battle. when Lews Therin says, “'I thought I could build,' Lews Therin murmured in his head. 'I was wrong. We are not builders, not you, or I, or the other one. We are destroyers. Destroyers.'â€

Essentially the third man is Moridin. We learn this in KoD-18-News For the Dragon. As for how Moridin manifesting in Rand's head, Rand himself figured that out. And indeed, we see that link form. And it is on the next page that we first see the link active. This raises the question--exactly how does the link work. It seems to have two different roles, the first being passive, and the second active. Passive Transferal The thread already lists other passive transfer--Rand seeing Moridin's face in his dreams, Lews therin listing him as a destroyer, and so on. In CoT we learn that's continued and that Rand is now getting foggy visio…

At the end of Eye of the World, the reaction to Rand using his power seemed odd to me. I would have expected Moraine, Lan, and Egwene to be grateful to him for saving the day. Even if he is viewed as dangerous. Hmm

OK, for years, I had a theory that Rand and Moridin would have a battle that would end up much like Harry's fight with Voldemort, with Rand being "killed" but Moridin actually killing himself. The idea being that when Rand dies it's Moridin's soul, or, more precisely, his half of their combined soul, which passed on, leaving Rand alive, but that part of them which was linked to Moridin would be lost, maybe some memories, or his ability to channel.

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I figured it's a good enough place to start. Does anyone know any artists that have read the book that could do a drawing of Rand for me, to my specifications? I am looking at making a tattoo sleeve of a few of my favorite characters and I'm not a huge fan of anything that's online already. Thanks!

Hi guys, I want to start off by saying that I fucking love WOT, its a great series that is up there in my opinion with GOT due to its ability to flesh-out characters, create varied and unique societies that are unlike anything I've seen before in fiction or if their are similar ones then they are done in such a way that they are wholly unique... But... over the entire series and once I completed AMOL all in the span of a year it dawned on me that in my own mind I was thinking about minor/major changes that I would have made. Now I know that this might be an uncomfortable topic for some but if anyone has had any ideas on either minor/major changes …

This is going to be a bit vague but any help will be appreciated - I don't have the books with me and some searching online turned up bupkis. I'm looking for a scene in which some Aiel are fighting shadowspawn and one of the Maidens, who I believe to be Aviendha, is surrounded by a circle of Fades and says something like "who wants to be the first to die" I seem to recall a river been involved. I couldn't even say what book it's in. Cheers.

Hi everyone, I hope that those who are active here might be interested in a project I am working on. I just started a YouTube channel called Reading the Pattern, which will have a WoT focus. I'm doing a re-read video series - in each video I recap several chapters and then discuss foreshadowing, themes, characters, etc. It is spoiler filled for the whole series, designed for people who have already read. I have the first three parts of The Eye of the World done so far (Prologue - Chapter 13) and am at work on the rest. I also have an intro video that explains the re-read series and includes a time lapse of TEotW on a map of Randland. I have a lot of other material planned…

I'm re-reading the series and realized I didn't know where Moiraine disappeared to at the beginning of The Great Hunt. It's right after the first Darkfriend meeting--and we see several Aes Sedai and a Shainarin--so I think we're supposed to half-think Moiraine might be one of them. But, obviously she's not. Is she visiting other retired Aes Sedai, like when she later visits Aldaleas (sp?) and Vendane (sp?).

I'm rereading LoC and I came across this line in Chapter 6 - "Had anyone she pulled back from death's grasp ever said that they would rather have died than suffer the little extra she exacted?" What "little extra" was she taking from her patients? I assumed it would be something like life force, but, I don't know, that just doesn't seem quite right. That seems too... normal for her, in a way. What do you guys think? (Also, unrelated, but I love that she calls her victims her "patients". It's so unsettling.)

I have to say, Im baffled. I was not at all aware of the Eg-hate before I started lurking around in fandoms a couple of months ago. No, I haven't read the "I hate Egwene, she sucks!", because I was hoping maybe someone could explain without all the flaming and hating ('cause that just annoys me). Most of the other characters people hate, I can see why, but I cannot fathom Egwene. She's a bit obnoxius when she's with the Aiel, and I don't agree with how she treats Gawyn in the latest books, but elsewise... Explain please?

I haven't seen any thread of the sort, but if there is one already then I apologize and you may kill mine with balefire!!! So! You know you're a WoT fan when: - You now use WoT curses rather than regular, real life curses - You add the word 'bloody' everywhere in your sentences, à la Mat Cauthon ^^ - You want to give your future kids WoT names (in my case, Matrim and Natael) even though you blame Twilight fans for giving their kids Twilight names (Renesmee Bella Stephenie, anyone?). BUT IT'S WoT, IT'S DIFFERENT. *is in denial of her own hypocrisy* - You dream about WoT almost every night. Epic dreams at that ^^ - You used to be scared of dead people and ghost…

Ok we know balefire burns someone from the pattern, and erases their past actions from existance (but for some reason has no effect on the horn of valere) But does it actually destroy their soul? Can someone who is destroyed by balefire still be reborn? I am asking this because I have seen many theories which say that the forsaken are bound to the shadow for eternity, and they always turn to the shadow when the second age comes again, and the dark one's prison is broken. I'm 100% sure this is true for Ishy, who is the Dragon's antithesis, but is it true for the others? And if it's true, 4 of them were destroyed by balefire, 3 by Rand, and 1 by …

So Nynaeve is swearing on the oath rod and Elayne is making excuses how she can’t. Is Elayne part of the Dark One’s long game to taint the next generation if the DO doesn’t win?

So what do you all think happens to the likes of Lanfear,Demandred, and Moridin after their deaths and the Dark Ones prison being sealed? We know that he was able to resurrect the Forsaken who were killed during the series and that they were marked/tied to him. Now that the Bore is resealed, is he still able to do that? And if not, are the Forsaken still marked/ tied to the Dark One when they get spun back into the Pattern? Also, what happens to the mind traps now that Moridin is toast? Lastly, Im almost finished with my reread of AMOL. I dont remember if the Aes Sedai ever realized that the Oath Rod is responsible for the ageless faces and t…

My Aiel set is complete except for the cadin'sor. Spears and belt knife made by different blacksmiths. I made the shield with some help from my friends - unfortunately the Dragon's fang and flame were reversed, but you get the idea. The TV show will have everything looking completely different, but I'm liking them right now... Spears - from socket to spear tip is 12" The blade on the belt knife is 12" long (not counting the genuine trolloc finger bone handle: And the shield is 10" in diameter and is made of two buffalo hide discs. It straps to the forearm so that I can carry the extra spears in my off hand.

Aloha, I have not been on here in quite a while, but I have gotten back into the WOT saga and am currently in a third re-read. The catch to this is that the only book that I have not read yet is AMOL, so no spoil me please. I was idiot enough to start from book one for the third time and I just cannot let myself skip to the last book until Ive completed them all again. I do have a plan for after I complete the last book however. After it is all over, I am going to use the D20 WOT book, the WOT Companion, and other resources to simulate a character Ive created through this fantastic fantasy world and then write about what happens. This character's journey will begi…

How many horror movies end with a final shot that reveals the awful truth....that the antagonist lives; despite the general assumption by the characters in the story, and therefore by the viewers (or readers), that the evil entity has been vanquished. So what if after lighting the pipe, we interpret 'Rand's' laugh as a maniacal cackle by an escaped Dark One? He is loose, and has just confirmed to himself he still has the ability to remake or break the world as he desires. Once you apply this hypothesis, a great deal of other pieces of foreshadowing and prediction/prophecy takes on a very different caste......a tremendous amount......? …

What are some of the best fight scenes (small scale, not battles) in the series. I just came across a really good one, although its more of an execution than a fight. In Winters Heart, Chapter 22 "Out of Thin Air," emo-Rand (hair dyed black) stalks Rochaid through Far Madding, but is tricked. Emo-Rand, unarmed, stops Rochaid from drawing his sword, punches him, dodges a surprise attack from Kisman, and uses Kisman's attack to kill Rochaid. Good ol' sheepherder.

So several years back some wicked clever and frightfully obsessed fans once convincingly deduced, from writings and interviews, that Myrdraal births occur at the same rate as humans who can channel, and thus Myrds are the result of Trolloc fetai receptive to Power being exposed to whatever for however many months they spend in the womb. So now imagine Mama Trolloc is living in a Stedding where Power does not go. What would become of the fetus? Is the transformation to Myrdraal a one time thing, like set from the moment of inception? Or is exposure to Power needed to shape the fetus into a Shadow Man over time? If the latter…

From NS we know that Moiraine heard the Fortelling about Rand, and she has a very in-depth knowledge of the Prophacies, so how come when she got to the Two Rivers she wasn't able to pick out Rand as the Dragon Reborn? I mean if she was able to narrow it down to him, Mat, and Perrin just based on their birth dates, should she not have been able to narrow things down further? If people were willing to talk about the boys' birthdays you would think it wouldn't be that much extra effort on Moiraine's part to ask if perchance one of them were born outside of the Two Rivers. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that 'Gee Tam al'Thor was in the army fighting the aiel, and whe…

I have read the books and loved them, however, I have had a thought after watching Nae'blis's Youtube video on the Dragon Prophecies. In the comments, I had a little exchange about them, and it got me thinking. This could have been asked before too, so I apoligise in advance. In part of the line in the Prophecy at the beginning of Lord of Chaos, these three words "The unstained tower" got me thinking....Does this fit the White Tower at Dumai's Wells like I thought...or does it fit the Black Tower more? Does the unstained tower hint at the Turned Asha'man being stained in these three words? Also, in addition, another question: considering the Prophecies also me…

Could it be in one of the "strange worlds" that Egwene saw in her travels in dreamland? Maybe our earth was one of her "strange worlds"? I know it appears to be similar to our world a few centuries ago, but is it ever clearly stated that Randland is on a future or past Earth as we know it? During his trip to Falme, Rand saw thousands of parallel possibilities. He, Huron (sp?), and Loial traveled in a parallel dimension to get ahead of Padan Fain to get the horn back. Maybe Randland is not Earth. Maybe there really is a place where the wheel turns and ages reoccur that is one of the possibilities that parallel our earth? And all we have to do to…
