Alright, today I brought in a brand spanking new hard-cover copy tEotW to class, read it, yadadada. First, me and a fellow WoT had our moment, and my English teacher was interested, and asked about the book. I thought, "Well, she doesn't know what the DO is, OP, AS, or so many other common themes in the book, so I'd use similar words, that are more commonly used in fantasy writing. Namely "Devil", "Magic", "Mage", (all quotes representing my own air quotes ;))and she got the general idea, I think. The point is, I looked at my friend, and he looked like I felt. All I could say is, "I think I just died a little inside.." And he nodded his head before getting to class. …

Could the destruction of Shadar Logoth also have killed/reduced Padan Fain. We have seen not so much as a glimmer from him since the end of WH, before the cleansing and destruction of SL. It seems like kind of an anti climax to the character but Aram's well deserved death took about a half a paragraph. Maybe in AMoL we'll be introduced to the shattered husk that was Ordieth but is now all that's left of Padan Fain because the Mordeth part of his soul was annihilated along with SL If he's not dead, maybe he's just sleeping.

Question one; What does everyone think that Verin did to have an arrest warrent still hanging over head in Far Madding? Question two: Where does everyone think Verin went in Knife of Dream? She left a letter for Rand saying she needed to leave to aid him? Personally, I think the reason for the warrent has to do with the mistake she made 70 years ago. I also think she left to go retrieve the Horn. What does everyone else think? TwoRivers Born. 8)

I just finished Crossroads of twilight, and I do see why some people don't like it as much as the rest. but besides... The last chapter kind of confused me, granted I was probably distracted but I dont understand the issue of Bode and Egwene and Northharbor, Is that the harbor off of the city where the White tower is. Why did Egwene go there. and whats the Deal with Bode. I just seem to have gotten confused at this part. And I cannot even think of the betrayer... Without any spoilers, Ive only read through 10, thank you 8)

Somewhere in a post I think I read that someone is working on assembling all the loose plot threads that we know of leading up to and including KOD in preparation of AMOL. Is this true? I'd love to see this.

Just a question and some thoughts.... When LTT killed himself, I've always assumed that he balefired himself. If he did balefire himself, one would think that due to his strength he cut his life quite long way back. If this is the case, wouldn't the things he did have changed (ie: killing all of his family/friends etc)? Thoughts/comments anyone?

So.... Red States wants to know... during the last battle and the aftermath, where will Bela be? Will she be at the head of the Sheinarans charging into the Trolloc mass in the Gap? Will she perish in blood and fire at the Black Tower? Will she go to Disney World? Will she settle down and have a foal with one of the boy horses from Randland? Or will she carry Rand's limp body, wet from dripping on the rocks, to charge straight at the DO effectively ending the series, killing the DO, bringing peace and justice to the galaxy, and be the most famous horse of all time??????

I just picked up a hardcover edition of The Fallon Blood by Robert Jordan (writing as Reagan O'neal). I found it at a used bookstore. Has anybody else read the book? I think there are three in the series...(the Fallon...). Just curious what some of you might have thought if you had read them.

I'm just wondering if anyone ever analysed (this is how we spell it in england, you may use a zed, thats a zed not a zee by the way) this for any kind of meaning? I always assumed that the blind woman and the deaf man were the Aes Sedai / Asha'man, but beyond that I don't know, the lion could be a reference to Elayne / Andor at a stretch I suppose. I just started LoC so my interest in it re-arised as usual, any thoughts?

This is something that has been gnawing at me since it was first brought up by Siuan amongst the Rebels, and later by the White Sitter Seaine in the Tower. I'm going to steal shamelessly from Luckers, to start off with: I'm going to start with a little pet theory of mine, that involves Cadsuane, and the Black Ajah. Now I'm sure by now it has been made clear that Cadsuane is NOT Black Ajah; in fact, at one stage she muses that she came very close to rooting out the BA, only to have her quarry slip through her fingers. So ... What do we know? 1. Cadsuane is not Black 2. The Ajah Heads who are talking to each other are not Black 3. The Too Young S…

They tell them a little about the fight with the female Forsaken and that Saidin is clean - do you think that they told the Rebals any more about the Cleansing? Surely a lot of questions would have been raised and answered in reguard to the Cleansing and Forsakens in particular but possibly on other things as well. Obviously Merise obviously took back the weave for detecting a male channeling. What do you think?

This has been bugging me. In A Knife of Dreams when Mat takes Tuon to the hell, on the way back Mat's party of four ( 2 men & 2 women ) where jumped by 10-15 people. Why? Yes all four are badasses in thier on way but no one would have known that there. So i ask agian why?

First, where the hell was Moraine. Rand and Lan (TGH p 7) "Now she's gone off somewhere, vanished" This is at the same time that Ingtar is off "hunting" at the DF social club outside SG. Now, to say Moraine is a DF would be blasphemy piled atop heresy but... it made me wonder. There were two AS there and we only guess at their identities. Where would she go without Lan, who rarely leaves her side. Why would she "need to be alone sometimes" What is she doing? Two, In her audience with Suian Sanche, Verin says she has no idea who Isam is. Now, are we expected to believe that an AS of Verin's age (200 plus) who is also a Brown, you know the history Ajah, would …

Never to use the One Power as a weapon except against Darkfriends or Shadowspawn, or in the last extreme of defending your own life, that of your Warder, or that of another sister. In the first book it felt like the third oath was a great constraint to Aes Sedai but since then we have seen it used in almost every circumstance. 1)Siuan and Morraine hold the power when they realize Verin knows about Rand. What did they plan to do with her. Morraine's thinking "We live in perilous times, and the world hangs in the balance, and what must be done, must be done. It must." Seems like she's convincing herself that this is the last extreme of defending her l…

This topic has been posted before but.... The one power looks like it is failing. I was hoping that the 4th age would not be one power free but the evidence is stacking up. 1. The new techno stuff Rand supports point to a industrial age... 2. The failure or problem with the one power noticed by the Rebel AS. 3. New age introduction for the end of a epic series the loss of magic is a clique that if often used. 4. The one power is gradually slipping away. There were TA or SA items in the Age of Legends (I don't recall which or if it was both) that did not require the one power to work. However, I thought that now many or all of these items di…

Ok I have to put this out if it hasnt been touched on yet. The next book is said to be the last in WoT series. Now their is a lot of loose ends too tie up in one book with out getting into the last battle here is a just a few: -Rand has too unify all the people -Mat needs too rescue Moiraine, plus obligation as prince. -The tower needs to be whole..(does Mat play a part I wounder.) -Elayne still needs too get the sun throne, and birth of her kids. Oh and doing some wedding with rand I would think. Plus the little things like Rand finally catching on too who is mother is. If im right that means meeting his half brother Galad. What part this right …

Who did Bashire want added to the list of people to be given to the unnamed man? I thought it was a list of people to have killed...I have skipped around the later books some...but i do not have a any idea what was going on there. I know there is thought that Bashere may be a Dark Friend...if so? Who does he want dead? If he is not a Darkfriend...who does he want dead to protect Rand? TwoRivers Born

I'm rereading The Shadow Rising atm and I've got a few questions... So I'm at the part where Rand hears about his real parents and they talk about a man who killed Rands father. Who was it? And I'd like to talk about the Aiel. In the AoL they served the Aes Sedia (but a while ago a other Aiel said they served the Dragon, LLT). And they didn't use any violence. But then the DO got free and some things changed. The Aiel had to flee with lots of Avendesora and lots of angreaals, ter'angreaals and sa'angreaals. So they fled. After the breaking lots of things went wrong. So the first Aiel like we know them now were Lewin, Luca and Alijha. So now we have the…

In The Path of Daggers about chapter 24 or 25 when Rand is fighting the Seachan one of the Seachan captians was Kanuun ( i think ). Later in that same chapter the name is spelled Kanun. Is this a misprint or just a type'o.

Now both Rand and Mat have sworn to die before killing a woman. (even the evil forsaken women.) How do the moments of truth come to pass for them? Rand seemed to be lined up to have to kill Lanfear at the end but will he instead go insane and stop killing everyone when he is about to kill Min? I pick Min over Lanfear because of the three women he loves, the time spend with Min has been the longest and most to me the most enjoyable to read. Av and Elayne were mostly annoying. I would say Min is the most popular of the three but that is merely my opinion. (For me, Min is my second favorite character after Mat.) It would seem obvious that Mat is on…

I'm not sure if this has been answered of not, but I was just reading PoD and all the stuff with the kins ages and whatnot. And I was curious if anyone knows or at least has a really good idea of who the oldest person actually is. Not counting of course the Forsaken. Or Gholam or anything like that.

Small favor....without killing you all with a lot of boring details, I have to write a pretty important speech for next week and i'm at a fork in the road. In my speech, i'll be talking about the path that someone went down in their life that got them to where they are today, and i'd really like to use a nice quote from one someone famous (All great speeches have that "So and so once said....." in them ;) ) ...anyway, I'd LOVE (purely for personal selfish reasons) to be able to say "My favorite author Robert Jordan once said..." but I can't remember any WoT dialogue or interview dialogue where he has a one or two sentence schpeel about a 'journey.' If an…

These viewings are from Min's first conversation with Rand. I think most of them we know what they mean, but what are some of the others? I will write the whole viewing followed by the ones I don't get yet. Perrin- Wolf, Broken Crown, Trees flowering all around him. So what are the Broken crown and the trees flowering? Mat- Red Eagle, eye on a balance scale, dagger with a ruby, horn, and a laughing face So what are the eye on the balance scale and the laughing face? ...I know it's been mentioned of Mat loosing an eye? Rand- A Sword that isn't a sword, golden crown of laurel leaves, Beggar's staff, him pouring water on sand, bloody hand and a…

I recall that in the TGH preview-thingy, two Trollocs and a Myrddraal attended the big "meeting" of Darkfriends. Why? The Myrddraal may have been an early version of Shaidar Haran, but why those two Trollocs out of what's otherwise been portrayed as a species of non-individual, dispensible creatures? And what might Ba'alzamon have told them? The only explanation I've though of is that, as Trollocs were a more major feature of the earliest books, RJ may have been planning something for them that was later dropped. Any other ideas?

Hi guys My first post here. I've been a long time reader Of dragonmount (though i've only just joined) Also very large Fan of Robert Jordan. Anyway My question is regarding audio book version of the wheel of time. My eyesight isn't as great as it should be and after welding all day at work i find my eyes get really sore and make it hard for me to read for extended periods. So basically i was thinking the Audio versions would be good for me to listen to my favourite books in the car and on my ipod things like that. Anyway i listened to a few audio versions of other books (forgotten Realms novels) and found they cut out a lot of the story. Has anyone listened to TWOT o…
