I'm reading book 8 for only the 3rd time after a break of about 5 years, so please forgive my ignorance here. I'm at the beginning, and the rulers of the Borderlands have met up to go on some journey or other. I'm unsure where they're going but its likely to find Rand. They're all discussing their AS advisors and some that they happened to 'run' into, and each admit that they are all taking at least 1 with them on the journey. Basic maths works out they're taking 13 with them. I can imagine Rand's reaction to this (innocent or not) when they get within 200 leagues of him. What happens?!

Just wondering and i bet the answer is 'not that far' and 'absolutely no effect' in that order. How far back does balefiring someone have effect on their actions? I htink i've asked this before but i cant remember the answer. Lanfear and her team drilled the bore. Would balefiring her make any difference?

  3. I have thought about this for quite some time and hear is some of my idees: Rand will die in the last battle (wich will not in fact be the last battle because the wheel will go on spinning) but befor he is he will first have a little chat with the DO where he is told about DO´s plan to destroy the creation(including the forsaken) and is given the chance to continiue to exist as an almighty presens in the void (with of course the souls of his loved ones) insted of risking it all by throwing up a fight. Rand will of course refuse (since Cadsuane have tought him to be human) and start an simingly hopless fight with DO´s avatar Shadan haran how is much stronger then Rand…

Was just browsing the forum when this idea came into my head. Has anyone considered the idea that rand will die at Tarmon gaidon of normal causes(anything sword, arrow, power whatever), but, as he is the spirit of LTT, the dragon, and artur hawkwing recognises him as one of the heroes of the horn, Is there the possibility of mat blowing the horn after his death and then Rand/lews/dragon spirit leading the forces of light to victory. He couldnt just hang around in TAR till Tarmon Gaidon because he has been the one to almost solely unify the forces of the light and prepare them. This would fulfill the prophecy of his blood being spilt on the rocks as well. On…

I was thinking about TDR the other day for some reason. Specificily about the end of the book and the battle between Rand and Ishy. We know that Ishy was using the TP almost exclusively at this point (hence the flames for eyes and mouth, etc). It got me to thinking did he use the TP aganist Rand in their fight. If so was it just at the end when Callandor seemed to dim and Ishy shouts something like I won't be undone aide me. I happen to think it was the entire fight not just the end but have no real evidence. However, I do find it curious that as soon as Rand touches Callandor the tearing sensation he has from Ishy goes away. This is purely specul…

I'm reading The Great Hunt at the moment and I've got a question about Choedan Kal. Verin says you have to be with two (male & female) channelers to controle Choedan Kal otherwise you'll turn to dust. Does that mean that Rand cannot use Choedan Kal alone? And why was Lanfear so scared when Rand came close to Choedan Kal? He doesn't even know how to channel properly so there wouldn't be any danger... I also have a question about Cadsuane. We all know that the Aes Sedai die 'sooner' because of their Oaths but how come Cadsuane survived this long? Aren't Aes Sedai supposed to die after +/- 200 years?

I have just recently finished the series up to KoD and earlier today I was pondering WoT stuff because I'm a nerd and I just do that. Anyway, I started thinking about how people use the one power, then I started to think about how Elayne used Air to create a platform to walk across when she was a tight rope walker in Luca's circus. (If I remembered that correctly, I have only read the series once) So my question is......how did she use Air to do that? And if that can be done why can't you fly with the power? I understand you cannot use the power on yourself, but you can make a bridge of air to walk on? Sorry if I overlooked something or if someone has already aske…

I was just wondering what others thought of the possibility of Ajahs being formed in the black tower after is is built??? Would they be similar to the ajahs of the white tower??? If not, would they also be named by colors??? So many possibilities but I believe Rand intends Ajahs since he made the whole Soldier-->Dedicated-->Ashaman stepladder like the Novice-->Accepted-->Aes Sedai. Maybe he plans to copy near enough everything about the WT??? Give me your thoughts, ideas, and yes criticisms... Please

I was just wondering if there has been any word about someone finishing the story from mr Jordan's notes ( God Rest His Soul). I was a relative new comer to the Wheel Of Time series and truly enjoyed reading the books, all 12 in just over 3 months.

I was reading George RR Marints Blog and I'll quote: This was at the WFC at Saratoga. Has anyone seen a transcript or video of the event? I did some googling, and went to the events website, but couldnt find anything. Thanks if anyone can point to it.

  12. Nynaeve incompletely healed Suian and Leane in LoC, To Heal Again (because of the whole need for a cross-gender healing to completely restore a severed person's strength) and as a result Suian and Leane aren't as strong as they were. My question is this : Could they be severed again and then healed by the good Dr. Flinn to restore them to full strength or would this just put them back at their strength post-Nynaeve healing, with a woman healing them after a second severing further reducing their strength?

  13. If the Dark One has so much power, why doesn't he just tell his followers to rip open the Bore so that he can be freed? Or is he/she similiar to us, wanting to enjoy his moment of triumph and laugh as humanity is destroyed? Or is he @#@#$%! crazy? What is the relation of the Dark One to his followers, involving the saa and the True Power? I love the idea of the world screaming in agony as it is slowly burned to ash by the Dark One's power, but that's just me.

Hey out there...I have a few thoughts on Taim, hopefully someone can clarify them! First, how is it that Mazrim can have been channeling for 15+ years without going insane? I know he's had some help in that regard, being a darkfriend and all, but that just doesn't make sense to me. Call me stubborn but I can't help but think that he is WAY more important than we've been led to believe. (I know, I know, he's Not Demandred! lol) Second, and most troubling in my mind, he has knowledge of Compulsion! And not the piddly assed version that Liandrin uses. LoC, chap.1: Taim to Bashere: "...I hear you hid what happened to Musar and Hachari and their wives."..."I t…

So, in the AoL, LTT took his 100 bros to Shayol Ghul and managed to seal not only the Bore, but also almost all of the Forsaken (with Ishy partially sealed, and Ag and Balth just getting owned by time)? How did they accomplish this? Someone indirectly mentioned this when I searched it up, but really. We keep being told that "the greatest miracles in the Age of Legends were worked with men and women channeling the One Power together". How did a bunch of dudes, unable to link, manage to seal the Bore and the Forsaken? If a bunch of female AS came along (can't remember the linking limit off the top of my head) with the male AS, could they, linked, possibly have sealed the Bo…

This is a question about how the wheel of time world works with Cuendillar and traveling. Let’s say you made an iron door frame and turned it into Cuendillar. Then you opened a gateway and put the door frame in the gateway and let the weave maintaining the gateway dissipate. Would the door frame be cut in half or would the gateway be held open forever? What do you think?

Being a newbie around here, I spent the last few days going through most of the topics. I found a lot of interesting stuff. And one fact that was particularly shocking. It seems like a lot of you don't like Perrin?!?! I still can't believe it. Especially since Young Bull is my favorite character in the series. Except for Rand. And Mat. And Lan. Okay, time to rephrase. He's one of my favorite characters in the series. Right behind Thom, and most of the Forsaken. And about 2/3 of the Aiel. And most of the Aes Sedai. And pretty much all of the Seanchan. Okay, let's rephrase once again. He's one of the characters in the series... But I don't hate him. Why do…

So I was just re-reading the chapter in CoT where Egwene's AS are discussing the BT and their belief that the Forsaken were behind the saidar/saidin beacon at the Cleansing, and it got me thinking; It's really astounding how rigidly Egwene and Elayne are clinging to politics and tradition and adamantly refuse to be in contact with Rand. Elayne I understand to a greater degree, since the fate of her country and the legitimacy of her rule is at stake, but Egwene appears to be justifying her decision based on Tower law (safety of the Amyrlin and all that), while she's done nothing but defy and change Tower law since she became Amyrlin. The fact that these two leade…

One thing I read at WOTMania and I'm pretty sure it is said in the books as well is that AS who have been burned out no longer sense that the source is there like stilled women do. So if a woman is burned out instead of stilled could they be healed. I mean we know Setalle was a Brown that got burned out studying Ter'Angreal, so what if she was healed??? Please share your opinions but I think that the difference between stilled women and burned out women (I say women but I mean any channelers) is that spot Nynaeve found in Logain where it extends a little and then seems to have ben cut or ripped. I wounder if that little part that extends is what allows stilled people …

i was re-reading the books again the other day and it occured to me that if the black ajah can release themselves from the three oaths could others do the same. Verin for example has seemingly lied which has led many to believe she is black. Didnt she study under corin Neal(not sure this is the correct spelling)who was big into angreal. i think she could have lifted some of the oaths off herself namely the one about telling the truth. any opinions another person who springs to mind is casduane(again not sure with the spelling) she is definatly ruthless enough to do it if she thought it nessacary

    1. I just reread The Eye Of The World and while Lan was talking to Lord Agelmar Jagad he's telling a poem. Could somebody tell me it? I read the books in dutch so i know it but I would like to have the original (english) one. 2. Who talked against Rand when he channeled Saidin for the first time? 3. So the Forsaken and the Dark One are immortal. Right? But they can be killed with balefire. What if Rand balefired the Dark One? Would he be killed to? Would that mean that the whole balance of good and evil is disrupted and resulting the Wheel of Time to be destroyed? Or does the Dark One life outside the Wheel? Did Osan'gar have anything to do with Flinn's discovery of the new male Healing techniques? They seem far more refined than the new healing discovered by Nynaeve, and it seems unlikely that a man who has only been working with the Power for a few months would stumble on complex techniques like that. I wouldn't be surprised if Osan'gar gave him some pointers so he can better serve as Rand's personal medic, helping to ensure the DO's edict is enforced up until TG. Plus, I would guess that Aginor, being an incredibly talented biologist/geneticist, and incredibly strong in the power as well, would be one of the few male Forsaken well acquainted with Healing.

In my opinion the Ways are one of the most confusing things in the Wheel of Time. One of my theorys is that the Wheel grinds down on everything over time. (which could be the situation with the seals along with all the other crap) So since the Ways were made with tainted Saidin maybe, just like the men go crazy over time, the wheel grinds away and only the taint remains. So that could also be the sittuation with the seals but whatever. This is a crappy theory so tell me all of yours! ;D ;D
