Healing Severing Incompletely - Can It Be Fixed?

Featured Replies

Most healing in these books seem to be a return to original condition - with certian exceptions (Mat's healing - left memory gaps) but these appear to be more exceptions than the rule.

And one of those exceptions is Nynaeve's Healing of Siuan and Leane, which left them with reduced channeling capacity.

Nevertheless, you could be right.  Having Flinn just try to re-Heal them without severing them again could work.  We don't have enough evidence to say for sure.  It is my opinion that it wouldn't, but this isn't something where the indications are strong enough that I feel comfortable saying "No way".

And in a post Tarmon Gaidon world,

Heh...sounds like when politicians constantly refer to "a post-9/11 world."  I wonder if the Randland politicians will be using "a post Tarmon Gaidon world" after it happens.

My understanding of healing was as mentioned before--that when you are healed, as far as it is possible from the channeler's abilities (and restrictions) it returns you back to the state you were in before the injury.

I don't think that there would be any risk of one's ability to touch the OP growing less stable.  Perhaps if there was evidence in the books that healing only "fixed" the problem like present day medicine (scars, aches, pains, limps etc) it would be a possibility, but I just don't think so.  Time and time again we are told that when the OP is used to heal, there is no scar, the person is returned to health as though it never happened.

So IF there are indeed two "paths" to The Source, what would be the affect of them healing it TOGETHER? an INCREASE in strength? Or is the same sex thing only able to cure a small portion, like crossover channeling.

Could the same technique beused to "short circuit" a channeler to the opposite half? Doubtful but would be an interesting experiment.
