Way back in book three when Egwene was risen to Accepted did anyone see some possible answers to memory of light as RJ walked us through the Ter'angreal with Egwene? Egwene is a dreamer and as we've been told Dreamers have the foretelling (or sometimes) well anyway Egwene, in one of her trials fails Rand when he asks her to kill him. Remember he was trapped in a rubble heap. Later on we find that one of the Seanchen women will help to kill Rand. Each one of her trials while in the Ter'angreal have had some portence to what happens or what is brought to light later on down the road in subsequent books. In her last trial there is some problem which arises from her h…

Will we see the the Land of Madmen in MoL? Because you have to wonder as to the reason it's called the Land of Madmen. Does it mean that their are men who can channel one that island?

The reason that I think that rand gets sick, is because the land (world) is sick (so to speak). The land is one with the Dragon and the Dragon one with the land. So maybe the only thing that could cure the land could be the song that the Tinkers are searching for. Maybe thats the only thing that can fix the land and in turn fix rand. [/i]

How do you seal the bore perfectly to make it so that the DO can no longer touch the world? we know that you have to "clear away the Debris", but what to do after how to seal it for the ages? My Theory what is the perfect way to seal the bore? make it so that someone that has use of the power can no longer reach it. place an area that the power can not even be felt or used around it. my thought and you can flame me if you want to is that to seal the DO's prison so that the DO can no longer touch the world is to make a stedding over it no one knows how steddings are made. could these be other correct sealings of the bore? Flame Away......

OK, here goes my first post! Siuan & Leane got healed by Nyneave but aren't back up to full strength in the power. Do you think they'd volunteer to be stilled again and then healed by an Asha'man to get back to their old strength? Or can they be healed back to their full potential by an Asha'man right now...

Has anyone out there heard anything about the release of these two in digital format? I know they are both available on CD and cassette. I'm more interested in a downloadable format such as Audible.com. These are the last two I've not found. Thanks if anyone has any info.

  8. As the story unravels, we see that techology is being developed in Randland. In the academies Rand sanctioned, Tovere has made telescopes, someone made a steam engine and of course aludra is making canons. How will these things come into play for TG? There are awesome implications for fireworks of course and we saw some of that in Mats battle vs the seanchan in KoD. A steam engine may lead to development of trains, cars?, mechanic calvary? I am pretty certain these new technological inventions will play a vital part in the last book. In the AoLegends, there were flying cars that used the power, shocklances (perhaps some sort of lightsaber-gun), ter-angreals like tha…

So I've decided I want to make a Wheel of Time personality quiz, similiar to the one on WoTmania, but I don't really like theirs.. So to begin I will obviously need a list of characters to match the test taker against. Then I was thinking of grouping them together into general view points, and using more specific questions to narrow down an invdividual character. For instance, politcally Rand and Elayne are both pro-working class. Elayne however is more subtle in her politics while Rand is, "do what I say or die." Maybe thats not fair to Rand, seeing as he has a deadline for saving the world and all... and thats why I'm looking for ideas. Here…

I'm on my third way through the series and I came upon something I don't understand in EotW. In chapter 40, just after Rand falls in to the garden, he tells Elayne and Gawyn that he's from the Two Rivers (page 600 of the paperback). Gawyn is surprised, but quickly hides it and then starts babbling, causing both Elayne and Rand to stare. Galad shows up before Rand has much time to wonder about it. Does anyone know if there's any significance to this?

I have a few insane Dragkhar questions that I thought some of you, blessed with obscure information sources, might be able to answer: Feeding.I know they suck out people's souls and life-force, but occasional assassinations seem like a pretty unreliable diet. So do they feed on Trollocs in the Blight, or kill random Borderlands, or just go without food for long periods of time, or what? And why do they have fangs if they don't bite? Breeding:Every Dragkhar yet described has resembled a "man". Does that mean they're all male, or just the scouts and assassins? Are there females somewhere, or are they somehow immortal? Yes, I do spend my free time pondering …

Hey everyone, I am new to these forums and I am sorry if this is an old thread brought back to life sorta thing, I just had a quick question about it. So everyone talks about LTT being the oldest Dragon, but if this wheel has been repeating itself for so many years, and the DO says that "He he fights the dragon numerous times in the past" So did LTT hear the dragon before him in his head? Will Rand be in the next Dragons head if this isn't truly the last last battle? It just seems to me that after each of these times that the dragon would become more powerful after every time he was born, due to having more and more memories and skills then the time before based on th…

  13. Someone has probably asked this beafore, but here it goes. Aes Sedai take the three oaths. Aes Sedai damane will not tell lies even under torture. So how do they get them to kill people? The Aes Sedai take the oath not to use the Power as a weapon except against shadowspawn or in the last defence of their life or the life of their Warder. Not to prevent themselves pain.

I am sure this issue has been beat to death, but it is fresh in my mind. While re-reading the series, I noticed something in WH that caught my attention. Actually, it refers back to something Cadsuane said to Rand in PoD. For Callandor to work correctly, you need two Aes Sedai to control the weaves. Granted, the prophecy says the person to follow Rand is important to wielding Callandor. That person is obviously, to us at least, Narishma (Sp?). What if that isn't the truth though? First off, can Narishma really be considered the one to follow Rand if he was told how to pull it and whom he was supposed to pull it for? Rand seemed unconcerened about that bit …

I saw a post discussing the healing of Suian and Leanne from being stilled and it not being complete and it seemed to infer that Nynaeve didn't heal them all the way (it was incomplete) for some reason, thus they were much weaker in power. But in the posted it stated that if they were stilled again, that they could be back up to full power if healed by an Ashaman. Is this becuase they are being healed by the opposite sex-hence the reason Logain was restored to full power when Nynaeve healed him?

I know that the series has been translated in quite a few different languages all over the world. Curious and impatient, I once picked up a copy of book 10 in Dutch. I honest to God hated it. They even translated the names and everything in that typical annoying and completely amateuristic way that annoys so many readers both in Holland and Belgium. After reading it (was still too curious) I simply threw it away and waited for my English copy to arrive from the States. Now I would not touch a translated copy again if my life depended on it. I rather wait 10 years to get an original one instead. Are there other people who have similar experiences?

This is just a thought I've just had concerning Rands madness and what has caused it! Consider what the Wise Ones have warned Egwene about entering Tel'aran'Rhiod in the flesh, that you lose some part of yourself each time you enter. And also consider that the Hundred Heroes (including Lews Therin Telamon) reside in TAR until they are spun out into the pattern again. Rands "madness" and hearing LTT started around the time when he started entering the world of dreams(to fight Ishamael and to check on Callandor) and it escallated the more he entered, so how much of Rands madness is from the Taint and how much(bearing in mind this is hypothetical!) how much from …

So, if don't have a copy of the book, try to get one, or just try to contribute from memory where you can, or check out the chapter overviews from http://www.encyclopaedia-wot.org/ Please feel free to come and add to a section whenever you feel that you want to, it can be late, but please don't try to add to the discussion of chapters we haven't made it to in discussing yet, unless it is to point out something in a chapter to come that is relevant to what we are reading at the time. I am thinking of a tentative schedule for the first 10 chapters as follows... Prologue (Dragonmount & Chapter 1 (…

Hey guys, I believe Lanfear (in her former body) was the most beautiful woman in the series (Mat thinks something like he forgets to breathe when he sees her, and various other reactions, Egwene, Berelain, Perrin, Rand of course.) My question is, why is it that she always stuck to the younger version of herself? I believe that appearance of hers was done with the Power, she shows her true self to Rand in the fourth book, older, but more beautiful, ripper, mature etc etc. Whether in the real world or the Dream world, whether in front of enemies or Forsaken (though come to think of it, they were no friends either,)she always appears the way we know her. I don't see…

Mashadar is a solidified form of Shadar Logoth evil- it can kill anything that it touches (haha and sammael's fatass is swimming around in there somehwere). Machin Shin is like some psychopathic evil that wants to taste blood, strip bones, hear ppl scream etc, which makes it pretty grosss- it apparently can kill you too cept we don't know exactly how yet (fain's psychoass is immune to it though...sucks). Okies, so if we have a showdown of these two f**ckers, who will win? Okay I don't know if this has been asked before, I checked all the topics to see if it may have been and didn't see any that looked to be (reading all the threads so far would take way too long). So I was wondering if anyone has theories on the three shockwave like gusts of wind or whatever it was that happened in KoD could be. Just about every "group" of characters experienced that at sometime in the book and I was wondering what the hell happened. I'm assuming it happened about the same time for all the characters but he spaced that experience thoughout the book for most of them. Ideas???

when Rand and Galad meet, will there be an awesome showdown, or what? i mean Galad is the leader of the rebel alliance (so to speak) of the Whitecloaks, and Rand is, well...the mortal enemy of all Whitecloaks. Perhaps if Galad does want to fight, Rand will feel hesitant (Galad /is/ his half-brother) and maybe Galad will see him as the true Dragon Reborn? Incidentally, how the hell are the Whitecloaks supposed to treat the DR? does ne one kno?

  28. This has probably been mentioned before so forgive me if it has. To me it's still a mystery why Rand still feels the Taint on the Power. While reading other posts about the connections between Rand and Moridin after their balefires touched, I had an idea. Rand was using the One Power and Moridin was using the True Power. More than likely the Taint came from the DO "injecting" the True Power into the male half of the True Source. Even though Rand and Nynaeve cleansed Saidin, Rand still feels the True Power whenever he touches Saidin because of his connection to Moridin. So in effect Rand still feels the Taint.

Anyways after rereading KoD again (lost count of how many times)...I have a question on an obsquire subject and was looking for theories/answers... Can we assume the effect of the weapon Asne uses to capture Elayne & the other Aes Sedai in "House on Full Moon Street" the same web that Seta and the other former Suldam use on the Aes Sedai when they 1st channel? Any takers?? Thx Ciete
